# Spider

Scattered underneath the caverns of the world, few bugs invoke fear and power quite as well as the Spiders. This reputation is mainly due to ignorance, since most bugs are not willing to visit Spider clans. Bugs that have vistited Spider Tribes would know that they have unique cultures that vary from place to place. They are also all skilled craftsmen and take great pride in their work. \column ### Vicious Warriors It is exceedingly rare for Spider Tribes to be found near each other, since they are fiercely insular and territorial. Additionally, they are vicious in combat. This is also one of the reasons why they have a sinister reputation.
The Spider Tribes practice a variety of combat styles, but with their unique fighting styles and their unpredictable natures, all Spiders are exceedingly dangerous. These warriors not only defend their tribes, but also seizing valuable resources and hunting for food. Furthering their predatory notoriety, warriors are often less than picky about where those resources come from. ### Skilled Craftsmen The various Spider Tribes vary greatly, but they do have one common feature: their love of craftsmanship. Spiders are also well known for their ability to make endlessly unique creations for a myriad of uses (though most bugs are too intimidated to ask about them).
No two creations are ever the same, every Spider has their own unique style, designs and specialties. This is influenced by both their tribes and individual experience. Spiders' passion for their work is a sight to behold-they can and will do anything they set their minds to. \page ### Appearance Spiders vary widely in appearance but share a few key characteristics. They have a pair of two main arms, with an extra pair of smaller ones. Many feature multiple eyes, with 2 sets of 2 being most common. Most have extra sets of smaller horns and spikes atop their heads.
Some Spiders also wear masks though this depends more on a tribes culture; some may reject masks, others see them as a expression of themselves. ### Spider Traits **Ability Score Increase.** Your Dexterity increases by 2 and your Intelligence by 1. **Alignment.** The Spiders are a fiercely independent people with loyalty to their own goals, winning out over anything else. They tend towards Chaotic. **Size.** Spiders find themselves standing around 5ft to 6ft. Your size is Medium. **Speed.** Your base walking speed is 35 feet. Additionally, when you are not wearing heavy armor, you gain a climbing speed equal to your walking speed. **Languages.** You can speak, read and write Common, Arachni and one additional language of your choice. **Darkvision.** You are capable of seeing in the dark and are able to see in total darkness as if it were bright light up to 60 feet and dim light for another 60 feet. You cannot discern color with this trait and instead see everything in shades of gray. **Skilled in Skullduggery.** Spiders are skilled in a number of less than reputable arts. You gain proficiency in your choice of either Deception (CHA), Stealth (DEX), or Sleight of Hand (DEX). **Fearless.** You have advantage on Rolls made against being Frightened. **Arachnids.** You have extra appendages that can be used to manipulate smaller items. While not skilled enough to wield weapons, they can interact with items and mechanisms while your main arms are being used. These arms can lift a number of pounds equal to five times your Strength score. You can use them to do the following simple tasks: lift, drop, hold, push, or pull an object or a creature; open or close a door or a container and interact with an item within its weight constraints. Other tasks may be preformed, but must be approved by your GM. **Weavers.** Most spiders still hold some talent when it comes to weaving. You gain proficiency and expertise in Weaver’s Tools. Additionally, you can spend time gathering silk into something useful. Whenever you take a Long rest, you can spend time spinning silk into 20ft of Silken Rope. Finally, at 3rd level, once per long rest you can cast the *Web* spell.
