\page ## Welcome to Street Level Your players have recently survived our One-shot adventure "With Great Power Comes No Responsibility," and their lives have been forever changed by those fateful events. In WGPCNR: Street Level, we'll be presenting tools to help you continue the story. Mysteries, Monsters, Adventure Hooks, Super Showdowns and more await, allowing you to take the real world and splice in superheroic scifantasy to challenge your budding heroes. ## Setting Still Earth, this year, your town, a couple weeks from now. Earth already exists, so you won’t have to build it brick by brick. Google maps is your friend for displaying locations and have fun with it. Players already have houses/apartments, lovers, family, pets, friends, obligations, jobs, rivals, enemies, personalities, ideals, flaws and bonds, while our world is plagued with countless problems, tragedies and injustices- and now its up to your heroes to use their new abilites to change the world in their image. The stories you tell together are only limited by your imaginations and your players’ ethics! ## Leveling up your Heroes As DM, youre in control of how your Player Characters level up and what classes they can choose from in your story, but unless they died in *With Great Power Comes No Responsibility* chances are they've earned themselves that 1st level on escaping the facility. You could choose one set of classes, or let players mix and match however you see fit. ### D&D 5e classes The regular Dungeons and Dragons 5e classes will work just fine for our purposes without much more than cosmetic modification. **Fighter, Rogue, Barbarian, Monk, Ranger** and **Paladin** all translate pretty smoothly to modern supertropes. **Clerics** are an easy crossover to combat medic or surgeon. **Bards** are rockstars, reporters and negotiators- folks who get by on charisma. **Artificers** are your mechanics, IT guys, robotics experts, and giant fighting robot designers. The magical abilities **Druid, Sorcerer, Wizard and Warlock** get could easily be explained as the player developing their control of their Power Manifestation and unlocking new abilities in strange new ways instead of being "magic". There may be class abilities you want to disallow in this setting, and that is entirely fair game. Dont want the player with Viral Duplication to use a Druid's *Wild Shape* to turn into a bunch of bears every fight and make things a little too ridiculous? Then don't let it happen and let the player know that *Wild Shape* won't be available in this campaign. They got superpowers at level 0, so trimming a few fantasy abilities here or there wont set them back competitively. They were born overpowered. The Critical Role class Blood Hunter would make for a flavorful gritty hero in the vein of a Winchester or Blade (find it free on DnDBeyond.com). ``` ``` ### GM Binder d20 Modern Conversion "The classes in D&D 5th edition are rather specialised, all of them requiring some form of dedicated training, a very specific history, or a particular event to allow characters to access the abilities of this class. While this works wonderfully for the standard fantasy roster, it isn't quite so great if you want to run a campaign where such specificity isn't plausible. In d20 Modern, the system is rather different; there are 6 basic character classes, each based on one of the 6 ability scores (which are shared with D&D). As you might imagine, these classes don't give any abilities which couldn't feasibly be gained through natural aptitude with a particular ability. To give players the option for more specific learning, advanced classes are introduced, which provide the more niche skills characters may acquire." - GMBinder ### The Basic Classes The classes in the D20 Modern Conversion represent the wide range of skills and knowledge that people in modern world have easy access to. The six basic classes are: * **Strong:** Levels in this class demonstrate training in athletic endeavours. Strong Heroes typically excel at melee combat. * **Fast:** Levels in this class indicate training in agility, hand-eye coordination, and reflexes. Fast Heroes typically excel at ranged combat * **Tough:** Levels in this class indicate improvement in physical fitness, health, and stamina. * **Smart:** Levels in this class provide the means to improve a character's reasoning and skills. * **Dedicated:** Levels in this class demonstrate a devotion to a cause, an ideal, or a higher purpose. The Dedicated Hero's class features revolve around investigative, empathic, healing, and spiritual devotions. * **Charismatic:** Levels in this class indicate training in winning friends and influencing people with a combination of charm, confidence, and charisma. The Charismatic Hero can be a leader, a celebrity, a con artist, or a flirt. ### Advanced Classes Advanced classes function identically to subclasses in standard D&D 5th Edition, with the exception being that all subclasses are available to all of the basic classes. He never came back in. Keys, wallet, and phone all left in the house. His wife is desperate for answers. > > ## Cryptid Biology: Anglerlamps > > Like anglerfish, this subspecies of mimic uses a false streetlamp jutting from its amorphous body to lure in prey, utilizing the flickering light and psychic interference to override self-preservation. Beneath the streetlight, a 3-5ft diameter amorphous blob of teeth and grinding stomachs digs itself into the ground, blending near perfectly with its surroundings. > > **Habits**. These cryptids are usually solitary hunters. They like to take their prey when unwatched, especially in high human population areas, and often adopt nocturnal hunting patterns as a result. They sleep a few hours a day, and daytime meals arent uncommon when they can get away with it. > > **Breeding Clutches.** These creatures gather together in groups of 3-5 to breed. > > **Infestation.** If left unchecked, these creatures might take over an entire stretch urban or suburban street. A huge or smaller creature adhered to the Anglerlamp is also grappled by it (Escape DC 16) Ability checks made to escape this grapple have disadvantage. > > ***Grappler:*** The Anglerlamp has advantage on Attack rolls against any creature Grappled by it. > ### Actions > ***Multiattack*** The mimic makes two attacks, one with its pseudopod and one bite attack. Within the Sphere, other creature’s Powers, Spells and other supernatural Effects (except those created by an artifact or a deity) are suppressed and can't protrude into it, and Magic Items cease to function. Teleportation and Planar Travel fail to work in the Sphere, whether the Sphere is the destination or the departure point for such supernatural Travel. While an Effect is suppressed by the Sphere, it doesn't function, but the time it spends suppressed counts against its Duration (should it have one). Powers, Spells and supernatural Effects such as Dispel Magic have no Effect on the Sphere. Likewise, the spheres created by another creature’s Negation Field or antimagic field Spells don't nullify each other. > > > ***Regeneration*** The G-Man regains 20 Hit Points at the start of his turn if he has at least 1 hit point and isn’t in sunlight. L Drum Magazine - Reload 50 (each Burst Fire action uses 10 pieces of ammunition). > > ***Bite.*** *Melee Weapon Attack.* +8 to hit, targets a creature that is grappled by the G-Man, incapacitated, or restrained. Hit: (1d6 + 4) piercing damage plus (3d6)necrotic damage. The target's hit point maximum is reduced by an amount equal to the necrotic damage taken, and the G-Man regains hit points equal to that amount. The reduction lasts until the target finishes a long rest. The target dies if this effect reduces its hit point maximum to 0. A humanoid slain in this way returns to life the following night with the Vampiric Physiology Power Manifestation. > > ***Authoritative Charm.*** The G-Man targets one Humanoid that can see and hear him within 30 ft. The target must succeed DC 13 Wisdom Saving throw or be Charmed by him. The Charmed target regards the G-Man as a trusted authority. Although the target isn't under the G-Man’s control, it takes his requests or Actions in the most favorable way it can. Each time the G-Man or his companions do anything harmful to the target, it can repeat the saving throw, ending the Effect on itself on a success. The Effect lasts 24 hours, or until the G-Man is killed or ends the Effect as a bonus action. > > ### Bonus Actions > ***Assess the Situation.*** Make a Wis (Perception), (Insight) or Int (Investigation) check at advantage. > > ***Drink Type O+ Blood Bag (1/rest)*** Regain 20 hit points. > > ***Bad Omens (3/Day).*** The G-Man’s pheromones attract 3d6 Vultures for 1 hour. The creatures arrive in 1d4 rounds, eager to eat his kills, but don’t respond to his commands (this action is honestly purely cinematic). > > ### Legendary Actions > The G-Man can take 3 legendary actions, choosing from the options below. Only one legendary action option can be used at a time and only at the end of another creature’s turn. The G-Man regains spent legendary actions at the start of their turn. > > ***Federal Oversight.*** The G-Man makes an M1911 or M1921 Thompson (Burst Fire Only) attack. 1d6 **Vultures** arrive and circle the target. > > ***Psychological Profile.*** The G-Man makes an (Intimidate) check against a creature that can hear him, using FBI intel on the target's bonds and history against them. > > ***Tactical Reposition.*** The G-Man moves up to half its speed without provoking opportunity attacks. 1d6 **Vultures** arrive and circle the battlefield.

## The G-Man The G-Man is an FBI agent who recieved the *Power Negation* and *Vampire Physiology* Power Manifestations from Doctor Power's Serum. His abilities allow him to block others from using thier supernatural abilities while hunting them down, putting them on a playing field where he holds all the cards. The G-Man's *Vampire Physiology* generates a pheremone that allows him a small level of control over others. Between that and his badge, he can squeeze a witness for info quick and easy-like, especially when using *Psychological Profiles* of his targets provided by the agency to get inside their heads. A side-effect of the pheremone is that vultures follow the guy around like a grim calling card. On a normal day, he might not seem like much for a party of capes and crusaders- but when you're blocked from using your powers or cut off from your magic, he's packing some serious iron. An M1923 Thompson submachine gun (an *automatic rifle*) with an L drum magazine (50 rounds), two M1911 45 cal pistols (use *revolver*, reload 8), and a spare magazine for each. Along with the firepower, he's got some slick noir horsepower- a 1933 Hudson Motor Company Essex-Terraplane 8-cylinder Coupe with reinforced armor and bulletproof glass. The G-Man's partner is a LE Human **Veteran**, similarly armed with an M1911 pistol and a thompson gun.

Edelweiss and Ledenborn's are twins, and commanders of the übermenschstaffel. She and her brother were born in 1941- subjects in one of Mengele's aryan breeding programs, recieving the serum as infants and raised in his labs. Both immortals, they look around 30 years old, the aging process slowing and stopping as time passed. In contrast to her extremely Lawful twin, Edelweiss is Neutral Evil and everything she does is to further her own power (though she keeps well enough behaved to not frustrate her brother or the doctor). She is cold, calculating, and opposed to her eloquent twin she rarely speaks unless it will further her self-interest. The greatsword she carries was recovered by nazi agents seeking occult treasures during the war, and is said to have once belonged to the mythic hero Sigfried. If that origin story is true or not remains a mystery, but combined with her psychic abilities, it can cleave through tanks- mythical or not, a weapon to be feared. Ledenborn sees himself as the obvious heir to the title of Fuhrer in the new American Reich they are working to create. He views himself and his twin as the zenith of human advancement and evolution, his hatred for the "lesser races" of earth extending to every unpowered human being, but carefully hidden behind a manicured decorum and politeness. Extra points to the GM for inserting creepy Cersei and Jaime Lannister vibes between these two monsters. Blitzkrieg is Ledenborn and Edelweiss' bodyguard and attack dog. Born in 1925, the Miracle has been hunting Dr Powers since the end of World War II. After being injected with an early version of the serum in Auschwitz as a young teen, the metahuman who would become the Miracle survived and was sequestered for brutal study. Using his budding abilities, he escaped into occupied Europe, learning to use his powers aiding partisan resistance and eventually Allied troops to smash the fascists, returning to liberate the camp towards the end of the war with his magnetic abilities fully realized. Back then, the papers called him "Kid Miracle." Despite all the good he did, the Miracle still believed he had failed himself and his People. The power to free them had been in his hands the whole time (or so he thought), but he was too weak to take it; they suffered because he was afraid. He made a vow and embarked on a one-man mission to track down Mengele and make him answer for his crimes, often clashing with the übermenschstaffel but never capturing the mad doctor himself. In the early years after the war, he battled Ledenborn and Edelweiss on more than one occasion, developing a suit of armor and helmet made of rare earth metals to shield him from the latter's psychic assaults. While the german twin's immortality keeps them as young as the day they first fought him, the Miracle's age has long since caught up with him. Unless surprised, a creature can avert its eyes to avoid the saving throw at the start of its turn. If the creature does so, it can't see the Medusa until the start of its next turn, when it can avert its eyes again. A humanoid killed by this spell rises at the start of La Catrina's next turn as a zombie that is permanently under her command, following her verbal orders to the best of its ability. > Born Maria de la Cruz, La Catrina's brother Marco died after recieving the same serum that gave her necromantic like abilites. Psychologically shattered by his death, she reanimated his corpse with a semblance of his personality and had him kill her handlers, though whether he is truly there inside the corpse or La Catrina is subconsciously animating his actions is unknown. To represent Marco, use the **Revenant** stat block. Instead of the *Fist*, use an aesthetic change to a *Brain-Splattered Sledgehammer* for his attacks. Through not processing her grief she's convinced herself she was chosen by a higher power- if she can bring the dead to life, she must be the harbinger of Judgement Day. Her whims and schemes aren't her own, they're messages from the Divine. Maria always wears calavera makeup, lovingly applying the same to Marco's pale-eyed corpse- and given enough time, her reanimated servants. Atop her head sits a crown of crystal and roses, and she wears a light blue veil. Time will tell whether she is a force for good or evil. For now, she can only be called Death Incarnate.
