\page ## Set-Up This One-shot adventure is for two to six players, and utilizes the Dungeons and Dragons 5th Edition ruleset. You will need the *Players' Handbook* and *Dungeon Masters' Guide* to play. ## Character Creation: Players will play as themselves. To generate stats: - Each player will choose one ability they believe they excel at and give themselves a 16 (+3) in that ability score. This ability is your **Favored Ability Score.** - The other players around the table vote on which two abilities they believe each other party member excels in, the highest tallies granting players a 14 (+2) in those ability scores. The GM breaks ties. - Lastly, the GM will grant the player a 12 (+1) in one ability score, and their last two ability scores are 10’s. - Each player begins with 25 Hit Points and one level of *Exhaustion*, knowing whatever skills they know in real life, and are considered to be level 0 (so do not choose a level at the beginning of this adventure, though at its conclusion the GM may grant the characters XP or a Milestone Advancement and allow them to choose a class if the party wishes to continue weaving the epic tale of their superpowered selves in a modern fantasy setting)… ## Setting: Though you can adapt this book for any setting, we present it with your heroes playing themselves on Earth, this year, your town, a couple weeks from now. For most of this adventure module, your players will be trying to escape a subterranean lab. If and when they escape and make it into the world at large, here are a few tips to leave your players talking about this session for years to come: - The subterranean research facility is a quarter mile underneath a local abandoned landmark. Choose a place that has a bit of local legend or mystique surrounding it, bonus points for haunted asylums and sanitariums that you’ve snuck into to explore. Example: The party is from the Rochester NY area, so the GM chooses the Abandoned Rochester Psychiatric Hospital as the building above the secret underground facility. When they escape, the elevator takes them to the psychiatric hospital lobby and an Insight or Perception check will let players who have been there in real life know where they are. - As they escape from said local landmark victorious and regroup on the lawn, it blows up self-destruct style. The bad guys sneak their loot and collared supes away as the heroes escape, and destroy the facility (or just the elevator shaft) to prevent their exposure with a whole lotta thermite. Ba-BOOM! - Maybe local police and news crews (toss in a couple helicopters for big drama) respond to the explosion. If any of the characters stick around or get caught in the area, they're bound to be accused of blowing up the building. They’ve always been a bad apple, some said it was only a matter of time before they went loco. Past that, the world already exists, so you won’t have to build it. Google maps is your friend for displaying locations and have fun with it. Players already have houses/apartments, lovers, family, pets, friends, obligations, jobs, rivals, enemies, personalities, ideals, flaws and bonds, while our world is plagued with countless problems, tragedies and injustices- and you just gave the players superpowers. The stories you tell together after our initial setup are only limited by your imaginations and players’ ethics! And remember: With great power comes a great many dice with which to smash Evil! So get smashing! ## Scene 1: The Lab The adventure starts here! Read these sections aloud:

Head swimming, you come to, restrained inside a medical gurney pod being wheeled down a hallway. You can barely remember who you are, let alone where you are. This must be a hospital… Maybe you’ve been in an accident? Two rough, buzzcut orderlies push you into an operating theater where a doctor is mid-presentation to his observers- other doctors, and men in suits and various military uniforms. The orderlies pull the gurney to stand vertically and lock it into place in a room-spanning medical apparatus with other subjects strapped inside pods just like yours. Some of the subjects you recognize, others are strangers. They attach the wires and tubes from the device you are strapped into to the machine behind you, and you hear the doctor speak in a unnecessarily thick German accent: “We stand on the threshold of a new age, gentlemen. My serum will create soldiers that render modern armies obsolete, and each will obey whoever issues commands via our R&D department’s new remote control collars.” An assistant holds up a handheld device and a high-tech collar with an electromagnetic lock as the doctor waves and a patient wearing a collar is wheeled into the operating room and displayed near him. One of the orderlies hands him the control device and the other opens a box with a revolver and displays it to the audience. He continues, “This subject survived the serum bonding with his DNA, but unfortunately has displayed overtly underwhelming abilities. He is, however, a perfect opportunity to show the remote control collar in action.” The orderlies release the subject’s straps and the scarred man stands in front of the doctor, visibly shaken. “Subject P30281 displays enhanced gustatory and tactile sensation, plus a regenerative prehensile tongue. Regenerative capability for the rest of the body yet undetermined, but thus far experimentation has shown no signs of such an ability. Now, Observe.” "30281: take the pistol, place it against your head, and squeeze the trigger." The scarred man complies without hesitating, his body slumping to the floor...

You watch on in horror, exhausted and restrained. “As you can see, subjects affixed with a control collar will follow your commands without question- And now onto the main event: my process! Each subject has already been injected with my serum and survived, meaning they are ready for power manifestation induction with my proprietary activating agent...” The doctor and his assistants flip switches and activate the machine, pumping a roiling blue gas into the medical pods with a hiss. The doctor continues speaking but you begin to choke, your body coursing with pain as the gas interacts with the serum coursing through your bloodstream… You hear screams from the other subjects as you feel yourself changing…

## Event: Survive the Serum This event leads directly to the players getting their abilities, and mimics each player takng a Death Saving Throw. Youll note that players can die in character creation in this adventure. That's on purpose. ##### GM Note: What do you do if a player dies here? First, don't panic. The Survive the Serum event is designed to immediately immerse the players in high stakes drama and get them invested in the story, so it wouldn’t do if the characters actually die here. You’re left with some options as GM. We suggest giving any characters who die here Power Manifestation # 1 (Horrible Mutation) or # 67 (Zombie Physiology). If you give them the Horrible Mutation, feel free to limit their rolls on the Powers Manifestation table to determine their abilities to 2 instead of 3. This adventure is meant to be fun and over the top, so use this event to build the proper drama and set the right mood for the story, but don’t let a pesky death take away the # 1 goal for your players: to have a good time!

## Survive the Serum! Your body convulses as it fights to stabilize the Super Serum injected by Doctor Powers. Will you survive? You must pass three **DC 10 Constitution Saving Throws.** #### 3 Successes. You live, powers manifest! - 0F Perfect DNA Match: Roll twice on the Powers Manifestation d100 table and lose one level of Exhaustion. - 1F DNA Match: Roll once on the Powers Manifestation d100 table. - 2F Just Made It: Roll once on the Powers Manifestation d100 table. Gain one level of exhaustion. #### 3 Failures. You die! ##### Flash-Back Sequence: After failing a Survive the Serum Constitution saving throw, a player may elect to experience a flash-back sequence to gain +5 bonus on their next saving throw and advantage on the roll. The player works with the GM to determine a “Knife,” an element of the character’s backstory the GM can use against them: - A named person your character cares about, living or dead (e.g. siblings, lovers, children, etc) - A phobia or trauma your character has experienced - A mystery in your character's life (e.g. unknown parents, a stalker, receives cryptic messages) - An enemy your character wants revenge on (e.g. the guy who shot your parents in an alleyway) - Any ongoing obligation or loyalty your character has, or an obligation your character has failed - A serious crime your character has committed, or a crime your character is falsely accused of - A secret your character is keeping (perhaps an addiction, having witnessed a crime, etc.) The memories and emotions your character experiences during their Flash-Back Sequence- be it the love for a partner or family member, hatred of an enemy, overwhelming fear of a traumatic event, determination to clear their name for a crime they didn't commit, etc- pulls them back from the edge of unconsciousness and helps them fight to survive the deadly Powers Serum. The “Knives” created by your Flashback will give the GM tools to raise the stakes and get your character more personally invested in the story later on. - Rolling a 1: Any roll of a 1 counts as three Successes, but the character must take the Horrible Mutation powerset from the D100 Powers Manifestation Table. - Rolling a 20: Any roll of a 20 counts as two Successes, and the character loses one level of exhaustion and gains 10 temporary Hit Points.

You’ll use a slight modification to the DnD 5e Spellcasting rules to throw fire and hypnotize fbi agents. ### Power Casting: Your **Favored Ability Score** is your Casting Ability for your Super Powers. You use your Favored Ability Score whenever a spell’s text refers to your Spellcasting Ability. In addition, you use your Favored Ability Score Modifier when you make an Attack roll with a power. Your Powers Save DC is equal to (8 + Proficiency Bonus + Favored Ability Score Mod). **Design Note** - Super Powers & Spell Slots: As you use super powers instead of Spellcasting, you don’t have Spell Slots. Instead, if one of your powers references effects “At Higher Levels”, you gain those effects when you reach that character level instead of by using higher level spell slots to cast it. For example, if a 5th level character were to use their Fireball power, they would do 10d6 fire damage instead of 8d6 fire damage. This design allows the character's powers to improve as they level up. ``` ``` ## D100 Power Manifestations ### 1 - Horrible Mutation You suffer a horrible mutation, becoming a twisted monster. - Your Charisma score drops by 2, your creature type becomes Monstrosity, and you roll three more times on the d100 Powers Manifestation table to determine the powers your Horrible Mutation grants. The GM then describes the creature you become to the party. *Example: Sammy’s Charisma drops from 10 to 8. They roll 53, 70, 15 on the Powers Manifestation table gaining the Possession, Petrifying Glare, and Ice Generation powers. The GM describes the player’s new monstrous self: “Sammy’s body ices over, their eyes frozen wide open- they look ghoulish, like an animated dead body thrashing against its restraints as they struggle within their medical pod.”* ### 2 - Superhuman Intelligence - Your Intelligence Score becomes 30. - You have Expertise in any of your Intelligence and Wisdom skills and with tools, can speed read, and you learn skills and languages in 1/50th the normal time it takes to do so. ### 3 - Mind Swapping **Body Snatcher.** As an action, you can switch bodies with any biological creature you can see within 10ft. You retain your INT, WIS, and CHA scores after swapping bodies. You do not gain any of the creature's skills or memories. ### 4 - Invisibility - As a bonus action, you may shift your cells to bend the light around you and become Invisible. You may choose that any Equipment you wear or carry becomes Invisible with you. Your Invisibility lasts as long as you concentrate on maintaining it. ### 5 - Immortality - You no longer age, but remain vulnerable to mortal wounds and severe injuries. You are immune to diseases and poisons and have Resistance to all damage types. ### 6 - Temporal Rewind - (Your Level + 2) times per long rest, if you or a friendly creature are killed, wounded, or your goals seriously damaged (via arrest, capture, or other ill fortune) you may rewind time to a point in time shortly before the event leading to the injury/misfortune and attempt to avert it by choosing a different course of action. ### 7 - Healing Factor - You regain 10 Hit Points at the start of your turn. You may only be killed if your body is totally disintegrated. Otherwise, depending on the severity of damage, you heal to 1 Hit Point within 24 hours.

\page ### 8 - Invulnerability - You have a Damage Threshold: 5 - You are Immune to kinetic (bludgeoning, piercing and slashing) and poison damage. - You have Resistance to all other types of damage save Psychic damage. ### 9 - Power Replication **Copycat:** As an action, you may make an opposed Charisma check against another character with a Power Manifestation within 30ft that you can see. On a successful check, you gain the use of that Power Manifestation as your own until you take the Copycat action again. At level 5, you may Copycat two Power Manifestations at once. At Level 10, you may Copycat five. At level 15, you have no limit and gain permanent use of all Copycat Power Manifestations you gain. ### 10 - Acid Generation - You have Immunity to Acid Damage. - You can use *Acid Splash, Acid Arrow*, and *Acid Stream* at will. Twice per rest, you may use *Vitriolic Sphere*. ### 11 - Poison Generation You have Immunity to Poison (Damage and Condition). You can use *Poison Spray, Ray of Sickness, Protection from Poison* and *Corpse Explosion* at will. **Poison Breath (Recharge 5-6)** Exhale poisonous gas in a 15-foot cone (Constitution saving throw, 10d8 poison damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one). ### 12 - Lightning Generation - You have Immunity to Electricity Damage. - You can use *Shocking Grasp, Lightning Lure, Call Lightning and Lightning Bolt* at will. Twice per long rest you may use *Chain Lightning.* ### 13 - Fire Generation - You have Immunity to Fire Damage. - You have Vulnerability to Cold Damage. You can use *Fire Bolt, Produce Flame, Control Flames, Burning Hands, Investiture of Flame* and *Wall of Fire* at will. Twice per long rest you may use *Hellish Rebuke* and *Fireball*. **Fire Form (1/rest)**: As an action, you ignite, turning into a Large creature pure elemental fire for up to one hour. While in your Fire Form, any clothing you’re wearing is bound to quickly burn off of you. You can move through a space as narrow as 1 inch wide without squeezing. A creature that touches you or hits you with a melee Attack while within 5 ft. of you takes 5 (1d10) fire damage. In addition, you can enter a Hostile creature's space and stop there. The first time you enter a creature's space on a turn, that creature takes 5 (1d10) fire damage and catches fire; until someone takes an action to douse the fire, the creature takes 5 (1d10) fire damage at the start of each of its turns. While in fire form, you also have these traits: *Illumination:* You shed bright light in a 30-foot radius and dim light in an additional 30 ft. *Water Susceptibility:* For every 5 ft. you move in water or gallon of water splashed on you, you take 1 cold damage. ### 14 - Sonic Generation - You have Immunity to Sonic/Thunder Damage. You can use *Thunderclap, Thunderwave, Thunderous Smite, Shatter,* and at will. Twice per rest you may use *Destructive Wave* (your Destructive wave deals 10d6 Thunder damage instead of any lightning damage). ### 15 - Ice Generation - You have Immunity to Cold Damage. - You can use *Frostbite, Ice Knife, Ray of Frost, Wall of Ice* and *Snowball Swarm* at will. Twice per rest you may use *Ice Storm* and *Cone of Cold.* **Ice Form**: As an action, you transform your body into pure living ice for up to one hour. While in your Ice Form. While in your Ice Form, you have Vulnerability to Fire and Sonic Damage. A creature that touches you takes 5 (1d10) cold. **Ice Glide:** When you Dash, you can travel in any direction by pulling ambient water from the air and freezing it into slippery 5ft wide panels, simultaneously creating and propelling yourself (and up to two other creatures medium sized or smaller) across the structure for the length of your movement. The structure remains until it melts or is destroyed (AC13, 10 hit points per 5 ft section, vulnerability to Fire and Sonic damage), and other creatures consider it difficult terrain. ### 16 - Air Control - You have Immunity to Fall Damage. - You have a 100ft. Fly speed. - You can cast *Gust of Wind, Fog Cloud, Warding Wind, Wind Wall, Storm Sphere, Control Winds* and *Investiture of Wind* at will. Twice per long rest you may use *Whirlwind*. **Air Form:** As an action, you can transform your body into a form of pure elemental air, or back into your true form, which is human. While in your Air Form, you have Immunity to kinetic (bludgeoning, piercing and slashing) damageyou may enter a Hostile creature's space and stop there, and you can move through a space as narrow as 1 inch wide without squeezing. ### 17 - Earth Control - You have Resistance to bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage, and Immunity to Poison damage. - You have Vulnerability to Sonic/Thunder Damage. - You have a Burrow speed equal to your walk speed. - You have Darkvision and Tremorsense out to 60 ft. **Earth Armor:** As an action, you may don or doff your Earth Armor, which grants you an AC of 18 + your Dexterity modifier. It counts as Plate Armor. You can use *Earth Tremor, Erupting Earth, Meld into Stone, Wall of Stone, Move Earth, Investiture of Stone* and *Stone Shape* at will. Twice per long rest you may use *Earthquake*. You may also use *Telekinesis* at will, but only to affect objects made of earth and stone.

\page ### 18 - Water Control - You have a 100 Ft. swim speed and can breathe underwater. - You have Resistance to Acid, Poison and Kinetic (Bludgeoning, Piercing, and Slashing) From Non Magical/Non Enhanced Attacks. - You have Vulnerability to Electric Damage. - You can cast *Create Water, Control Water, Wall of Water, Maelstrom*, and *Tidal Wave* at will. Once per long rest you may use *Tsunami*. **Water Form**. As an action, you transform into a being of pure water for up to one hour and your size increases to Large. You can enter a hostile creature's space and stop there. You can move through a space as narrow as 1 inch wide without squeezing (though any gear and clothing likely cannot). While in Water Form, you have Immunity to the *Exhaustion, Grappled, Paralyzed, Petrified, Poisoned, Prone, Restrained* and *Unconscious* Conditions. *Freeze.* If you take cold damage, your form partially freezes; your speed is reduced by 20 ft. until the end of your next turn. *Whelm*: Each creature in your space must make a Strength saving throw against your Power Casting Save DC. On a failure, a target takes (2d8 + Strength modifier) bludgeoning damage. If it is Large or smaller, it is also grappled. Until this grapple ends, the target is restrained and unable to breathe unless it can breathe water. If the saving throw is successful, the target is pushed out of your space. You can grapple one Large creature or up to two Medium or smaller creatures at one time. At the start of each of your turns, each target grappled by you takes (2d8 + Str mod) bludgeoning damage. A creature within 5 feet of you can pull a creature or object out of your mass by taking an action to make a Strength saving throw against your Powers Save DC. ### 19 - Darkness Generation - You can see in total darkness as if it were bright light. - You have Immunity to Necrotic Damage. - You have Vulnerability to Radiant Damage. - You can use *Darkness, Shadow Blade, Silence* and *Arms of Hadar* at will. Twice per rest you may use *Shadow of Moil.* **Shadow Step.** When you are in dim light or darkness, as a bonus action, you can teleport up to 120 feet to an unoccupied space you can see that is also in dim light or darkness. **Shadow Stealth.** While in dim light or Darkness, you can take the Hide action as a Bonus Action, and you have a +6 bonus to Stealth checks. **Shadow Shield.** While in dim light or darkness, you have a +2 bonus to AC against any attack that doesn’t deal Radiant damage. **Shadow Form.** as an action you transform yourself into a shadowy form. In this form, you have resistance to all damage except force and radiant damage, and you can move through other creatures and objects as if they were difficult terrain. You take 5 force damage if you end your turn inside an object. You remain in your shadow form for 1 hour. It ends early if you are incapacitated, if you die, or if you dismiss it as a bonus action. *Amorphous:* In shadow form, you can move through a space as narrow as 1 inch wide without squeezing. *Sunlight Weakness:* While in your shadow form in sunlight, you have disadvantage on Attack rolls, Ability Checks, and Saving Throws. ### 20 - Solar-Powered - You have Immunity to Radiant Damage. - You can cast *Guiding Bolt, Daylight, Blinding Smite, Blindness, Wall of Light*, and *Absorb Elements* at will. Twice per rest, you may use *Sunbeam* and *Holy Aura.* - While in direct sunlight, you have a 50ft. Fly speed and may hover. ### 21 - Magnetism **Magnetic Field**: As a bonus action, you can create a strong magnetic field around you in a 10-foot radius which moves with you, remaining centered on you. You may dismiss the field as a bonus action. The field has the following effects: - The area is difficult terrain for creatures other than you. - The attack rolls of ranged weapon attacks which deal kinetic or radiant damage have disadvantage if the attacks pass in or out of the field. - Communications equipment and other electronic devices cannot communicate into or out of the field. - You gain a hover speed equal to your walk speed. - You may use *Shield, Catapult, Cloud of Daggers, Floating Disk, Knock, Wall of Stone* and *Telekinesis* at will. You may use *Globe of Invulnerability* twice per rest. Your abilities may only target metal objects (ie. your *telekinesis* can target a car but not a tree). **Magnetic Wall**: As an action, you extend your hands forward and create a wall of magnetic energy to protect you from incoming projectiles. It measures 30ft wide by 20 ft tall, or can be fashioned into a 10 ft sphere around you. The magnetic wall lasts as long as you are able to concentrate on keeping it up, and can be renewed on your turn as a bonus action. Any metallic projectiles fired at you or a creature behind the magnetic wall become stuck in the field, harmlessly falling to the ground when you end your concentration. ### 22 - Gravity Manipulation - You gain a hover speed equal to your walk speed. Your long jump and high jump are both 30ft. - ***Float***. You may use your reaction to ignore fall damage until the start of your next turn. - You may use *Jump* and *Reverse Gravity* at will. **Gravity Punch:** Your unarmed attack deals (4d10) Force damage. Target must take a Strength save or be thrown 10ft or be knocked prone (your choice). This damage increases by 1d10 for each character level you gain. Beginning at 5th level, this attack reduces the target's speed to 0 until the end of its next turn.

\page ### 23 - Radiation Generation - You have Immunity to Radiant, Necrotic, and Poison damage. You are immune to cancer and rad sickness. - You can cast *Absorb Elements, Ray of Enfeeblement,* and *Branding Smite* at will. Twice per rest you may use *Destructive Wave* and *Blight*. You may use *Sickening Radiance* at will, centered on yourself. **Radiation Absorption:** Whenever you are subjected to Radiant damage, you instead take no damage and regain a number of Hit Points equal to the damage total. ### 24 - Plant Control - You have Immunity to Poison Damage. - You can cast *Thorn Whip, Entangle, Barkskin, Spike Growth, Plant Growth, Speak with Plants, Commune with Nature, Grasping Vine,* and *Wall of Thorns* at will. - The organic material your powers create does not disappear. - Plants will animate and follow your spoken and mental commands to the best of their ability. - When you die, your body drops a seed. If planted, this seed will grow into a memory-devoid Clone of you within 1d6 days. ### 25 - Flight - You gain a 150ft Fly speed and Resistance to fall damage. - ***Flyby:*** You don't provoke Opportunity Attacks when you fly out of an enemy's reach. - ***Dive Attack.*** If you are flying and dive at least 30 feet straight toward a target and then hit it with a melee weapon attack, the attack deals an extra (1d6) damage to the target for each 15ft you dive. ### 26 - Hypersonic Speed - Your Dexterity score becomes 30, and you have advantage on Dexterity saving throws. - Your melee attacks deal an extra 1d6 thunder damage. - You may take three actions, two bonus actions, and two reactions per round. - Friction Resistant: You have Resistance to Fire, Thunder and Lightning Damage. **Speedster:** Your walk speed is 300 ft. You may take Dash as a bonus action to move up to 13,200 ft (aka 3000mph). When you Dash, attacks targeting you are at disadvantage until your next turn, and you may move up, down, and across vertical surfaces. For every 5 minutes you spend Dashing between rests, you must succeed on a DC20 Constitution saving throw or gain one level of Exhaustion. **Speed Shield:** You gain +5 AC if moving between 100mph and 500mph (440+ feet per round), and +10 AC if moving over 500mph (2200+ feet per round). **Hyperactive Metabolism:** You have advantage on Saving Throws against poison and Resistance to poison damage. You regain 1 Hit Point every 10 minutes as long as you have less than 4 levels of Exhaustion, but must eat five times as much as a normal human each day for this trait to function. **Break the Sound Barrier:** When you break the sound barrier (around 3388-3400ft of movement while Dashing) you create a sonic boom (use *Thunderwave* for free). **Never See Me Coming**: When you move faster than 3400ft in a round, you may attempt to Dash through creatures. If you move through a creature's space, it must take a Constitution saving throw vs your Powers Save DC, taking 20d6 bludgeoning damage on a failed save. If it passes the save, you fall prone and take half that much damage. **Dodge, Dip, Duck & Weave**: As a bonus action, you don't provoke Opportunity Attacks while Dashing, and Attacks against you are at Disadvantage until the end of the turn. ### 27 - Intangibility **Intangible Form:** As a bonus action, you may focus your power to become Intangible and move through other creatures and objects. You remain Intangible as long as you concentrate on maintaining the ability. You may choose that items and creatures you are touching become Intangible as well when you take the bonus action. While Intangible, you can only affect and be affected by other creatures that are also Intangible. Creatures that aren't Intangible can still perceive you (ie you are not invisible). **Last Second Reaction** If you are in your natural solid state form and hit with an attack from an attacker you can see or hear, you may use your reaction to become Intangible, potentially avoiding the attack. When you do so, the damage you take from the Attack is reduced by 1d10 + your Dexterity modifier + 5. If you reduce the damage to 0, you avoid the attack completely and you remain Intangible until you end your concentration. ### 28 - Time Travel - You may cast *Slow, Haste* and *Expeditious Retreat.* Twice per rest, you may use *Time Stop* or *Wish*, but your use of Wish is restricted solely to traveling through time and space. You must know the exact date, time and location you want to travel to, or run the risk of ending up in the wrong location. **Time Hop:** As a bonus action, you may momentarily pause time to move up to your walk speed without provoking opportunity attacks or being seen. **Time Takes Its Toll:** From the 10th time you use a *Wish* to travel through time onward, the stress causes cellular damage and you must succeed on a DC10 Constitution saving throw or take (1d4) psychic damage per level, suffer a level of Exhaustion, and get a nosebleed. If this damage reduces you to 0 Hit Points, you fall into a coma. The DC for this saving throw increases by 1 for each of your levels. ### 29 - Portal Generation - You may use *Dimension Door* and *Arcane Gate* at will. You may use *Plane Shift* and *Gate* twice per rest, and your Gate may connect to the same plane of existence. ### 30 - Animal Shapeshifting - You gain the Beast creature type and may use *Shapechange* at will. The form you may take with Shapechange is limited to Beasts, though you are not limited by CR rating.

\page ### 31 - Clay-Body Shapeshifting - Your Constitution score becomes 25. - You have Expertise in the Deception skill. - You have Immunity to Poison and Kinetic damage. **Amorphous Clay Form:** Your true form is a large amorphous clay blob. You can enter a hostile creature's space and stop there. You can move through a space as narrow as 1 inch wide without squeezing. *Change Face.* As an action, you can transform your size and appearance (you can choose your own natural human appearance) or revert to your true large clay form. You can’t duplicate the appearance of a creature you’ve never seen, and you revert to your natural form if you die. You decide what you look like, including your height, weight, facial features, the sound of your voice, coloration, hair length, sex, and any other distinguishing characteristics. You can make yourself appear as a member of another species, though none of your game statistics change. Your clothing and other equipment don’t change in appearance, size, or shape to match your new form, requiring you to keep a few extra outfits on hand to make the most compelling disguise possible. Even to the most astute observers, your ruse is usually indiscernible. If you rouse suspicion, or if a wary creature suspects something is amiss, you have advantage on any Charisma (Deception) check you make to avoid detection. *Object Mimicry:* You can use your action to transform into an object or back into your true, amorphous clay form. Your statistics are the same in each form. Any equipment you are wearing or carrying isn't transformed. *Weaponized Clay Limb:* You can use a bonus action to transform one or more limbs into melee weapons. You may choose any melee weapon, ignoring the two-handed and versatile properties while using it. These weapons deal an extra damage die for each two of your character levels. ### 32 - Vampiric Physiology - Your Strength and Dexterity scores become 18. - You gain Darkvision and Heatvision out to 120 ft. - Regeneration: You regain 20 Hit Points at the start of your turn if you have at least 1 hit point and aren’t in sunlight. If you take radiant damage or fire damage, this trait doesn't function at the start of your next turn. - Sunlight Sensitivity: While in sunlight, you have disadvantage on Attack rolls, as well as on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on sight. - **Spider Climb**. You can climb difficult surfaces, including upside down on ceilings, without needing to make an ability check. **Pheromone Charm.** You target one Humanoid you can see within 30 ft. of you. If the target can see you, the target must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw against your Power Save DC or be Charmed by you. The Charmed target regards you as a trusted friend to be heeded and protected. Although the target isn't under your control, it takes your requests or Actions in the most favorable way it can. Each time you or your companions do anything harmful to the target, it can repeat the saving throw, ending the Effect on itself on a success. Otherwise, the Effect lasts 24 hours or until you are killed, or take a Bonus Action to end the Effect. - You gain the following natural weapon attack: **Bite.** Melee Weapon Attack. reach 5 ft., one willing creature, or a creature that is grappled by you, incapacitated, or restrained. Hit: (1d6 + 4) piercing damage plus (3d6)necrotic damage. The target's hit point maximum is reduced by an amount equal to the necrotic damage taken, and you regain hit points equal to that amount. The reduction lasts until the target finishes a long rest. The target dies if this effect reduces its hit point maximum to 0. A humanoid slain in this way returns to life the following night with the Vampiric Physiology Power Manifestation. ### 33 - Werebeast Physiology When you manifest this power, confer with your GM about which Beast form your mutation takes. - Choose a Beast type creature. You gain that creature’s speed, senses, immunities, resistances, traits, natural armor, and natural weapon attacks in Werebeast form. - **Powerful**: Choose 2 abilities from Strength, Dexterity or Constitution and raise those ability scores to 18. - **Keen Hearing and Smell:** You have advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks relying on hearing/smell. **Werebeast Form:** You can use your action to transform into a beast-humanoid hybrid, or back into your true Human form. Your Statistics are the same in each form. You revert to your human form if you die. While in beast-hybrid form, you benefit from the following: - You gain Immunity to Kinetic damage (Bludgeoning, Piercing, and Slashing) from Non Magical / Non Enhanced Attacks. *Example: Fable’s power manifests as a werebeast physiology. Conferring with the GM, they decide on the fearsome Deinonychus as Fable’s beast form. They gain the dinosaur’s 11 natural armor, its Pounce ability, and 1d8 damage Claw and Bite attack actions. * ### 34 - Aquatic Adaptation When you manifest this power, confer with your GM about which aquatic Beast form your mutation takes. - Choose a Beast type creature with a swim speed. You gain that creature’s speed, senses, immunities, resistances, traits, natural armor, and natural weapon attacks. Your body remains humanoid but gains obvious traits of your chosen beast, such as gills. - Amphibious. You can breathe air and water. *Example: Adam’s power manifests as an aquatic adaptation. Conferring with the GM, they decide on the Giant Lightning Eel as Adam’s aquatic beast mutation. He gains the eel’s lightning resistance, 60ft blindsight, Bite and Lightning Jolt attacks. * **Dehydration Sensitivity:** Your system must maintain a delicate equilibrium to fuction properly. You need to drink at least two gallons of water per day (or submerge yourself in water for 4 hours over a short or long rest) or suffer one level of Exhaustion at the end of the day. You have disadvantage on Constitution saving throws to resist the effects of Extreme Hot or Cold Temperatures without wearing proper gear.

\page ### 35 - Size Shifting - You may use *Enlarge/Reduce* on yourself at will. **Giant Form:** As an action, you can become Huge for 1 minute, standing 25 feet tall. You gain the following benefits in giant form: - You gain 100 temporary hit points and Resistance to all damage. - Your Strength and Constitution Scores become 25. - Your melee weapon attacks deal an extra 2d6 bludgeoning damage on a hit, and your reach increases by 10 feet. When the minute ends, or when you dismiss your Giant Form as an action, you revert to your normal size and gain one level of Exhaustion. That’s all you get, Paul Rudd. ### 36 - Elasticity - Your Dexterity and Constitution Scores become 24, and you have advantage on Dexterity skill checks and saving throws and Constitution saving throws. **Elastic Reach:** Your body can easily stretch up to 30ft in any direction, giving you a 30 ft reach in combat, and allowing you to change your shape as a bonus action. **Rubber Resilience:** You have Immunity to the paralyzed and prone conditions. You have Immunity to lightning and bludgeoning damage from non-magical, non-enhanced sources. You have Resistance to piercing, slashing and force damage. ### 37 - Metal Body - Your Strength and Constitution Scores become 24, and you have advantage on Strength and Constitution saving throws. **Tough as Nails:** You have Immunity to the Exhaustion and Poisoned Conditions. You also have Immunity to Fire, Poison, Acid and Kinetic (Bludgeoning, Piercing, and Slashing) damage from Non Magical or Non Enhanced Attacks not made with Adamantine weapons. **Fire Absorption:** Whenever you are subjected to fire damage, you take no damage and instead regain a number of Hit Points equal to the fire damage dealt. **Immutable Form:** You are immune to any power, spell or Effect that would alter your form. **Metallic Resistance:** You have advantage on Saving Throws against Powers, Spells and other Effects. ### 38 - Elemental Body - Your Constitution and Wisdom scores become 24 and you have advantage on Constitution saving throws. - You may use *elemental absorption* at will. **Change Like the Seasons:** As an action, you may choose to gain one of the following Power Manifestations: Lightning Generation, Fire Generation, Ice Generation, Water Control, Air Control, Earth Control. You may only have one Power Manifestation chosen with this ability at a time. If you die, your body turns to dust. ``` ``` ### 39 - Assimilative Evolution **Assimilate Biomass:** As an action, you can assimilate organic biomass and gain the abilities, traits, senses, resistances, immunities, and physiologies (like organs, natural weapons and natural armor) of the being the biomass was taken from. *Tactile Assimilation:* Simply by touch, you gain a single biological trait or property of a creature. *Consumptive Assimilation:* If you consume the biomass of a creature, you gain any of the creature’s biological traits or abilities you choose within 1d6 rounds. ### 40 - Telepathy - You have Telepathy with a range of 1 mile. - You may use *Telepathy, Detect Thoughts, Mind Spike, Sleep, Dream, Greater Restoration (mental illness only), Eyebite* and *Telepathic Bond* at will. **Mind Blast:** You emit psychic energy in a 60-ft cone. Each creature in the area must succeed on an Intelligence saving throw or take 1d8 psychic damage and be stunned for 1 minute. This damage increases by 1d8 per level. A creature can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success. ### 41 - Telekinesis - You have a flight speed of 30 feet. - You may use *Telekinesis, Cloud of Daggers, Scatter*, and *Animate Objects,* at will. The weight your Telekinesis can affect increases by 1,000 lbs at each level. ### 42 - Precognition You have the limited ability to see into the immediate future. - You can't be surprised and have advantage on attack rolls, ability checks, initiative rolls and saving throws. - Creatures have disadvantage on attack rolls against you. - You may use *True Strike, Guidance, Clairvoyance*, and *Find Traps* at will as bonus actions. **Precognitive Insight**. When you or another creature makes an attack roll, a saving throw, or an ability check, you can use your reaction to cause the roll to be made with advantage or disadvantage. **Precognitive Hunch:** As a bonus action, you open yourself to receive momentary insights that improve your odds of success; until your concentration ends, whenever you make an attack roll, a saving throw, or an ability check, you roll a d4 and add it to the total. ### 43 - Claircognizance You can gain information about a person, object, place, skill, or event through intrinsic knowledge- perceiving information currently beyond mental or sensory range. You may use *Legend Lore, Identify, Find Traps, Clairvoyance, Locate Object, Locate Creature, Locate Animal or Plant, Detect Poison and Disease, Detect Thoughts* and *Scrying* at will as bonus actions to determine facts about anything you are curious about, whether legendary or mundane.

### 44 - Memory Manipulation You can get inside other peoples’ heads. - You can use *Friends, Detect Thoughts, Modify Memory, Mind Spike*, and *Charm Person* at will. Twice per long rest you may use *Feeblemind, Geas* and *Mind Blank.* **Psychic Blank**: you are immune to psychic damage, any Effect that would sense your emotions or read your thoughts, Divination Spells and tracking technology, the Charmed condition, and even wish Spells and Spells or Effects of similar power used to affect a target's mind or to gain information about a target. ### 45 - Persuasion You can tell people what to do, and they do it. - Your Charisma Score becomes 30. - You can use *Geas, Command, Dominate Person, Dominate Monster, Suggestion, Mass Suggestion* and *Hold Monster* at will. - Your targets suffer disadvantage to saving throws against your Powers. Your powers have no effect on constructs, undead, or other otherworldly creatures. ### 46 - Emotional Manipulation You have pheromone-based powers that allow you to assert influence over others. - You can use *Calm Emotions, Cause Fear, Heroism, Sleep, Charm Person, Confusion, Hideous Laughter, Suggestion, Enemies Abound* and *Hold Person* at will. Twice per long rest, you may use *Mass Suggestion* and *Antipathy/Sympathy*. - Your targets suffer disadvantage to saving throws against your Powers. Your powers have no effect on constructs, the undead, or creatures with completely alien emotions. **Fear Aura:** Hostile creatures that start their turn within 20 feet of you must make a Wisdom saving throw, unless you are Incapacitated. On a failed save, the creature is Frightened until the start of its next turn. If a creature's saving throw is successful, the creature is immune to your Fear Aura for the next 24 hours. Turn the aura on/off as an action. ### 47 - Psychic Illusionist - Your Charisma score becomes 25. - You have Telepathy and Truesight out to 120ft. - You can use *Minor Image, Major Image, Blur, Dream, Hypnotic Pattern, Hallucinatory Terrain, Fear, Mislead, Programmed Illusion, Phantasmal Force, Hideous Laughter, Confusion* and *Mirror Image* at will. Twice per rest, you may use *Mirage Arcane* and *Phantasmal Killer.* - Your targets suffer disadvantage to saving throws to notice your illusions; you have Advantage on Charisma saves. **Mind Blast:** You emit psychic energy in a 60-ft cone. Each creature in the area must succeed on an Intelligence saving throw or take 1d8 psychic damage and be *Frightened* of you for 1 minute. This damage increases by 1d8 per level. A creature can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success. ### 48 - Intuitive Aptitude You have the power to instantly and intrinsically learn and understand the workings and mechanics of anything, regardless of how simple or complex. You can comprehend the complexity and exactness of events, organisms, objects, subjects, fields, powers, etc without the need of formal education or explanation. You have Expertise in Investigation. As an action, you may investigate a subject, gaining intuitive knowledge of the subject with a successful DC10 Investigation skills check. ### 49 - Photographic Reflexes You gain the ability to copy any action or skill after watching it performed once. - Your Dexterity score becomes 24. - You gain proficiency with any skill, instrument, tool, advanced technological or magical device, or weapon you see another person using skillfully. - You use the skill modifier of the most skilled creature you’ve witnessed performing an athletics, performance or dexterity based skill check. - You also have the ability to replicate any physical action, reaction, bonus action or attack you have witnessed, such as acrobatics, martial arts forms and Fighter maneuvers. ### 50 - Psychic Blade Projection - You have Telepathy and Darkvision out to 120ft. - Your Charisma score becomes 25. **Psychic Weapon**: You can use a bonus action to create a melee weapon of pure psychic energy in your empty hand. You can choose the form that this melee weapon takes each time you create it. You are proficient with it while you wield it. This weapon counts as magical for the purpose of overcoming Resistance and immunity to damage. Your Psychic weapons deal an extra 1d6 psychic damage for each of your levels. You may create a psychic weapon in each hand. A Psychic weapon disappears if it is more than 5 feet away from you for 1 minute or more. It also disappears if you choose to create a new one, if you dismiss the weapon (no action required), or if you die. While you hold at least one Psychic weapon in your hand, you gain a bonus to your AC and damage rolls equal to your Charisma ability score modifier. ### 51 - Psychic Blasts - Your Charisma score becomes 25. - You have Telepathy and Darkvision out to 120ft. - You have Resistance to Force and Psychic damage. - You have Advantage on Charisma saving throws and are Immune to the *Charmed* Condition. - You may use *Eldritch Blast*, *Mind Spike* and *Shield* at will. - Your Eldritch Blast attacks deal an extra 1d10 psychic damage per level and add your Favored Ability Score modifier to the damage roll. Your targets must pass a Constitution save against your Powers save DC or be Stunned for thirty seconds. Stunned targets may take this Constitution check again at the beginning of each of their turns, ending the effect on a success. - Twice per rest, you may use *Psychic Scream.* \page ### 52 - Technokinesis You can telepathically communicate with and control machines, which attempt to follow your orders to the best of their ability. - You may use *On/Off, Mending, Encrypt Message, Remote Access, Speak with Machine, Decryption Program, Comprehend Languages, Infallible Relay, Arcane Hacking, Find Vehicle, Digital Phantom, Haywire, Invisibility to Cameras, Conjure Knowbot, Bestow/Remove Virus, Tech Override, System Backdoor, Shutdown* and *Synchronicity* at will. ### 53 - Possession - You have immunity to being Charmed or Frightened. **Possession:** As an action, choose one creature that you can see within 5 ft. of you. That creature must succeed on a Charisma saving throw against your Powers Save DC or be possessed by you; your body falls unconscious, while the target is Incapacitated and loses control of its body. You now control the body but don't deprive the target of awareness. You can't be targeted by any Attack, spell, or other Effect, and you retain your Intelligence, Wisdom, Charisma, and immunity to being Charmed and Frightened. You otherwise use the possessed target's Statistics, but don't gain access to the target's knowledge, Class Features, or Proficiencies. The possession lasts until the body drops to 0 Hit Points, you end it as a Bonus Action, or you are turned or forced out by an Effect like Banishment. When the possession ends, you return to your body. The target is immune to this your Possession for 24 hours after succeeding on the saving throw. **It’s Just a Meat Suit.** If your body is destroyed while you possess another creature, your ghost-self lingers but is disoriented. Within 24 hours, you unconscously find and possess another humanoid or a fresh humanoid corpse (dead for less than 5 minutes) on the same plane of existence and regain all your hit points. Roll on the Long Term Madness table as you wake up inside your new body. Your ghost-self can leave a host and gains the following traits and abilities: - Speed. 40ft. Fly speed (you can hover). - Damage Resistances: Fire, Lightning, Thunder. - Damage Immunities: Acid, Cold, Necrotic, Poison, Kinetic (Bludgeoning, Piercing, and Slashing) From Non-magical Attacks. - Condition Immunities: Charmed, Exhaustion, Frightened, Grappled, Paralyzed, Petrified, Poisoned, Prone, Restrained. - Incorporeal Movement. You can move through other creatures and objects as if they were difficult terrain. You take 5 (1d10) force damage if you end your turn inside an object. **Terrifying Visage**. As an action, you can force each non-undead creature within 60 ft. of you that can see you to succeed on a Wisdom saving throw against your Powers Save DC or be frightened for 1 minute. A frightened target can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the frightened condition on itself on a success. If a target's saving throw is successful or the effect ends for it, the target is immune to your Terrifying Visage for the next 24 hours. ### 54 - Viral Duplication As an action, you can split and create an exact duplicate of yourself at that moment (with all of your memories up until the split). You control your Duplicates, who act on their own Initiative and function as full characters. The number of Duplicates you can have at one time is limited, equalling your character’s Level + 2. You only die if all of your duplicates are killed. There is no mechanical advantage to the “original” you, so don’t get worried if the Big Bad Evil Guy puts a bullet between You # 1’s eyes. As an action, any number of Duplicates in physical contact may instantaneously merge back together. When you duplicate yourself, any non-enhanced, non-magical items you are wearing or carrying are copied with you. When you merge with your Duplicates, the items are also merged back together. You and your Duplicates do not share senses, but you share a hive mind, immediately telepathically communicating experiences and thoughts between all of your copies. ### 55 - Energy Absorption - You have Resistance to Fire and Radiant damage. - Superior Energy Absorption: You may use *Absorb Elements* at will, without expending your reaction. You may use Absorb Elements when you take any kind of damage that is not psychic, poison, necrotic or force damage. If you are already Resistant to a damage type when you use Absorb Elements, you instead take no damage from the attack and gain temporary Hit Points equal to half the damage roll. ### 56 - Living Livewire - You have Immunity to Electricity damage. - You may use *On/Off, Lightning Lure, Haywire, Shutdown, Remote Access, Witch Bolt, Lightning Bolt, Shocking Grasp* and *Synchronicity* at will. **Circuitry Travel:** As an action, you have the power to create a link between an electronic device within 10 feet and another electronic device, at any distance, as long as the two are connected by electrical currents. You must have seen or touched the destination device at least once before. You may instantaneously travel between the chosen devices by using 5 feet of movement. **Static Shock:** When you are touched or hit by a melee attack, your attacker takes 1d6 Electricity damage.

\page ### 57 - Explosive Snap You snap your fingers and things go boom... - You may use *Fireball* at will. The explosive effect of your Fireball doesn’t travel from your person to the target; instead it spontaneously generates in the approximate area you want it to when you snap. **Mind Blower:** You target a creature with a head within 60 feet of you that you can see or hear. The target must make an Intelligence saving throw against your Powers Save DC. On a failed save, a target takes 14d6 psychic damage and is stunned. On a successful save, a target takes half as much damage and isn’t stunned. If a target is killed by this damage, its head explodes into a grisly mist. ### 58 - Reactive Evolution - Your Constitution score becomes 18. **Stress-Induced Resistances:** In times of extreme stress your body is not equipped to handle (like being held underwater by a squid and unable to breathe), your genetics rewrite themselves to handle the threat (in this example by your growing throat gills and gaining the Amphibious trait, allowing you to breathe while underwater). The first time you are reduced to 0 Hit Points by a particular damage type, roll a DC 10 Constitution saving throw. If you pass, you are instead reduced to 1 Hit Point and gain Resistance to that damage type. If you pass the Constitution saving throw by 10 or more, you instead gain Immunity to that damage type and gain 10 temporary Hit Points. ### 59 - Power Bestowal **Power Bestowal:** As an action, you may touch a creature without a Power Manifestation. That creature then rolls on the d100 Powers Manifestation table. **Power Bank:** When you reach 3rd level, you may take another creature’s Power Manifestation with your touch. You cannot utilize the abilities of a Power Manifestation you take from a creature in any way. **Power Broker:** When you reach 5th level, you may grant a creature without a Power Manifestation one of the manifestations held in your Power Bank. Creatures granted powers in this way intrinsically understand how to use them. ### 60 - Superhuman Strength - Your Strength score becomes 30. - You have Resistance to Kinetic (bludgeoning, piercing and slashing) damage due to your muscle density. **Superpowerful Build:** You count as two sizes larger while engaged in melee and while determining your carrying capacity and the weight you can push, drag, lift or throw. **Herculean Blows:** You can roll one additional weapon damage die with attacks made with melee or thrown weapons. Your unarmed attacks deal 1d10 damage. ### 61 - Teleportation You may use *Misty Step* and *Teleport* at will. ### 62 - Force Field Generation **Subconscious Deflection Field:** You gain a bonus to your AC equal to your Favored Ability Score. - You may use *Shield, Wall of Force* and *Forcecage* at will. ### 63 - Power Negation **Negation Field:** As an action, you may activate or deactivate your Negation Field. A 20-foot-radius Invisible Sphere of power nullifying energy surrounds you. Within the Sphere, Powers and Spells can't be used, summoned creatures disappear, and even Magic Items become mundane. Powers, Spells and other supernatural Effects, except those created by an artifact or a deity, are suppressed in the Sphere and can't protrude into it. While an Effect is suppressed, it doesn't function, but the time it spends suppressed counts against its Duration (should it have one). *Targeted Effects:* Powers, Spells and other supernatural Effects, such as Fire Bolt and Charm Person, that target a creature or an object in the Sphere have no Effect on that target. *Areas of Power/Magic:* The area of another power, spell or supernatural Effect, such as a Fireball, can't extend into the Sphere. If the Sphere overlaps an area of magic or a power effect, the part of the area that is covered by the Sphere is suppressed. For example, the flames created by a Wall of Fire are suppressed within the Sphere, creating a gap in the wall if the overlap is large enough. *Effects:* Any active power, spell or other supernatural Effect on a creature or an object in the Sphere is suppressed while the creature or object is in it. *Magic Items:* The properties and powers of Magic Items are suppressed in the Sphere. For example, a +1 longsword in the Sphere functions as a non-magical longsword. A magic weapon's properties and powers are suppressed if it is used against a target in the Sphere or wielded by an attacker in the Sphere. If a Magic Weapon or piece of magic Ammunition fully leaves the Sphere (For example, if you fire a Magic Arrow or throw a magic spear at a target outside the sphere), the magic of the item ceases to be suppressed as soon as it exits. *Teleportation*: Teleportation and Planar Travel fail to work in the Sphere, whether the Sphere is the destination or the departure point for such supernatural Travel. Powers, Spells and supernatural Effects such as Dispel Magic have no Effect on the Sphere. Likewise, the spheres created by another creature’s Negation Field or antimagic field Spells don't nullify each other. At 3rd Level, the radius of your Negation Field increases to 60 feet. In addition, you may designate one creature as your Trusted Partner as a bonus action. Your Trusted Partner may ignore the effects of your Negation Field, allowing them to use their Powers or Magic while within the Sphere. You may only have one Trusted Partner at a time, and can dismiss them at any time with no action required. The radius of your Negation Field increases with your level: 150ft at 5th, 300ft 10th, and 1 Mile at 20th.

\page ### 64 - Power Thief **Steal Power**: As an action, you may make a melee power attack roll to touch a creature with a Power Manifestation and attempt to steal their abilities. On a hit, the target makes a Charisma saving throw against your Powers Save DC. On a failed save, the target takes 4d8 Psychic damage and loses their Power Manifestation, which you gain. You may gain any number of Power Manifestations in this way. If a creature is reduced to 0 Hit Points by the damage dealt by this attack, you have disadvantage on your Fracturing Sanity saving throw, you cannot benefit from advantage from any source, and you suffer a -5 penalty to the roll. *Fracturing Sanity*: Stealing the powers of others takes a toll on your sanity and leaves remnants of your target’s consciousness implanted in your mind. Each time you steal a creature’s Power Manifestation, you must succeed on a DC17 Charisma saving throw. On a successful save, roll a d4, and you gain one of the target’s Personality Traits (1), Ideals (2), Flaws (3) or Background Skill, Tool or Language Proficiencies (4). On a failed save you suffer the effects of a successful save, then roll on the Indefinite Madness Table if your d4 roll was even, or on the Long Term Madness Table if your d4 roll was odd. ### 65 - Healing Touch You may use *Spare the Dying, Cure Wounds* and *Greater Restoration* at will. You may use *Heal* or *Regenerate* a number of times per rest equal to your level +2. ### 66 - Deadly Touch You may use *Finger of Death* at will. Your range with this power is limited to touch only. The “zombies” it creates are mindless puppets (theyre not infectious undead) which make no actions unless directly commanded by you to do so. ### 67 - Zombie Physiology When you gain this Power Manifestation, you immediately die. Aww. Poor you. Looks like it's game over, and it all goes dark… Your corpse lies motionless for 1d4+1 minutes, then you rise screaming from the grave with the following traits: - Your Constitution score becomes 20, and you have advantage on Constitution saving throws. You have disadvantage on Intelligence saving throws. - You have Resistance to *Psychic* and *Kinetic* (Bludgeoning, Piercing and Slashing) damage. - You have Immunity to Poison and Necrotic damage. - You are Immune to Disease and the *Charmed, Exhaustion, Frightened, Paralyzed, Poisoned* and *Stunned* Conditions. - You do not need to breathe, eat or sleep, and you no longer age, nor will you die of old age (though self-repairing, your cells are technically already ‘dead’ and your body, like all things, will eventually fall to entropy). **Undead Fortitude:** If damage reduces you to 0 hit points, you must make a Constitution saving throw with a DC equal to the damage taken. On a success, you drop to 1 hit point instead. **Unnerving Healing Factor:** you regain 1 hit point at the start of each of your turns (10 hit points each minute). Your severed body members (fingers, legs, etc, if any) are not restored automatically by this healing. If you have the severed part (or one from another body that matches the missing part) and hold it to the stump, the limb will knit to the stump over one round. **Losing Limbs:** Whenever you are struck by a Critical Hit and you take at least 5 damage, roll a d20: *1-8:* One leg is severed, if you have any legs left. *9-16:* One arm is severed, if you have any arms left. *17-20 (Melee weapon):* You are decapitated. While decapitated, your body suffers disadvantage to all skill checks, attack rolls, and dexterity saving throws until it is able to find and reattach your head. *17-20 (Ranged weapon):* Headshot! You’re "dead". **Achilles’ Head:** If you are shot in the head with a ranged weapon that uses ammunition, your Unnerving Healing Factor ceases to function until the projectile is removed. **Infectious Bite:** Your bodily fluids and (1d6) **Bite** attack carry a mutant strain of rabies. The target must succeed on a Constitution saving throw against your Powers Save DC or contract the Z virus. The target can't regain Hit Points, and its hit point maximum decreases by 10 (3d6) for every 24 hours that elapse. When a creature with the Z virus dies, it becomes a **Zombie** with this attack (virus uses your save DC). ### 68 - Animal Control You may use *Speak with Animals, Animal Friendship, Animal Messenger, Dominate Beast* and *Conjure Animals* at will. ### 69 - Diamond Form - Your Constitution score becomes 24. **Diamond Form:** As an action, you can transform your cells into nigh-impervious living crystal, or back into your true squishy human form. While in your Diamond Form, you have the following benefits and abilities: - You have AC 20 (natural armor) and Damage Threshold 5. - You have Immunity to Poison, Psychic, Lightning, Fire, Acid, Cold, Necrotic and Radiant damage, plus Kinetic (bludgeoning, piercing & slashing) damage from non-magical/non-adamantine weapons. - You have Vulnerability to Sonic/Thunder damage. - You weigh ~500 pounds in diamond form. Your speed is reduced by half, and you may not take the Dash action. - You are immune to any Effect that would alter your form. - You have advantage on Saving Throws against Powers, Spells and other supernatural or magical Effects. - You have the following natural weapon attacks, which deal an extra 1d8 damage at each character level: **Crystal Fist.** Reach 5ft. Deals 1d8 kinetic damage. **Shard Burst.** Spray a 10-foot-cube area within 30ft with diamond shards. Each creature in the area must succeed on a Dexterity saving throw against your Powers Save DC or take 1d8 kinetic damage, taking half damage on a success.

\page ### 70 - Petrifying Stare Your gaze can turn others to stone. **Petrifying Stare:** As an action, you may target a creature within 30 ft. of you as long as you and the creature can see each other. The target must make a Constitution saving throw against your Powers Save DC. On a failed save, the creature begins to turn to stone and is Restrained. It must repeat the saving throw at the end of its next turn. On a success, the Effect ends, though a fraction of its body is turned to stone and it takes 1d12 Poison Damage. On a failure, the creature is Petrified until freed by Greater Restoration or a similar Effect. A creature that isn't surprised may attempt to avert its eyes to avoid the saving throw at the start of its turn with a Dexterity save against your Powers Save DC. If it succeeds, you cannot target it, but it can't see you until the start of its next turn, when it can avert its eyes again. If it looks at you in the meantime, it immediately becomes the target of your Petrifying Stare again and must make another Con save. **Gorgon’s Skin:** You have tough, scaly skin, granting you a natural armor class of 16 + your Dex modifier. ### 71 - Superhuman Vision **Keen Sight:** You have advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on sight. **X-Ray Vision:** You can see into and through solid matter. This vision has a radius of 60 feet. To you, solid Objects within that radius appear transparent and don't prevent light from passing through them. This vision can penetrate 5 foot of stone, 5 inch of Common metal, or up to 15 feet of wood or dirt. Thicker substances block the vision, as does a thin sheet of lead. **Laser Vision:** Your eyes are a natural weapon that allow you to use *Scorching Ray* at will. Your Rays deal Radiant damage instead of fire damage. Twice per rest, you may let loose with your full power and use *Disintegrate.* ### 72 - Unstoppable Force Absolutely nothing can stop you. - Your Strength and Constitution Scores become 25. - You have Immunity to Kinetic (bludgeoning, piercing and slashing) and Resistance to Force and Thunder damage. - You are Immune to the Exhaustion, Restrained, Paralyzed, Prone and Incapacitated Conditions. **Juggernaut’s Inertia**: Your movement is unaffected by difficult terrain, and no Effects can reduce your speed. If you Dash, you can freely move through walls or other obstacles. You burst through such an obstacle automatically with no skill check needed (leaving a you-sized hole in a wall or smashing a car aside instead of you being obstructed). You can spend 5 feet of movement to automatically burst free from restraints, such as manacles or creatures that have you Grappled. Finally, being underwater imposes no penalties on your movement or attacks. **Immovable Object:** You are immune to powers, spells or effects that would move you against your will. ``` ``` ### 73 - Retrocognition You have Resistance to Psychic damage. **Retrocognition**: As an action, you may touch an Object or Creature and learn about its past as if you had cast *Legend Lore*. The information you learn comes as flashbacks where you see past events unfold from the Object or Creature’s point of view. ### 74 - Accelerated Probability Manipulation You have the ability to glimpse possible futures, predicting what choices you could make and instantaneously extrapolating the potential outcomes of those many options to take the best course of action in any situation. As long as you are not incapacitated, you are constantly looking forward in time to see how every possibility will play out and to predict possible futures, gaining the following benefits: - You have advantage on skill checks and saving throws. - As long as you can see a creature attacking you, attacks against you suffer disadvantage to the roll. - You may expend your Reaction to force an attacker to reroll an attack roll against you, or to reroll one of your attack actions, potentially changing the outcome. ### 75 - Matter Ingestion You can eat anything. Seriously. - Your Constitution Score becomes 20. - You have Immunity to the Poisoned Condition. Your pliable jaw and throat can expand up to 3ft in diameter, allowing you to swallow like a snake. You gain the following attacks: **Bite.** Melee Weapon Attack: reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 1d12+Strength kinetic damage. A creature damaged by this attack is Grappled. Until this grapple ends, the target is restrained, and you can't bite another target. (Athletics or Acrobatics vs your Power Save DC to escape the grapple). **Swallow.** You make one bite attack against a Medium or smaller creature you are grappling. If the attack hits, the target takes the bite's damage, the target is swallowed, and the grapple ends. While swallowed, the creature is blinded and restrained, it has total cover against attacks and other effects outside of you, and it takes 21 (6d6) acid damage at the start of each of your turns. If you would take 25 damage or more on a single turn from a creature inside you (before your Immunity is applied), you must succeed on a DC 20 Constitution saving throw at the end of that turn or regurgitate all swallowed creatures, which fall prone in a space within 10 feet of you. If you die, a swallowed creature is no longer restrained by you and can escape from your corpse by using 10 feet of movement, exiting prone. If a creature dies in your stomach, you gain 20 Temporary Hit points and gain Resistance to one type of damage the creature can deal with natural weapons or abilities.

\page ### 76 - Item Duplication As an action, you may touch a Huge or smaller object to instantaneously create an exact duplicate of it. The Object appears in your empty hand, or an unoccupied space of your choosing within 10 feet. The objects you generate are permanent and 100% functional. ### 77 - Reaper **Fear the Reaper.** Your attacks against creatures ignore all Damage Resistances and Damage Immunities, and damage you deal can't be reduced or prevented in any way. Finally, any hit you score against a creature is a critical hit. **Reaper’s Mark.** You may use Hunter’s Mark at will. You have advantage on attacks you make against the target of your Hunter’s Mark, as well as any creature dumb enough to get in the way of you killing the target (ie bodyguards, minions, police, etc). The extra damage dealt by your Hunter’s Mark increases by 1d6 per character level (ie at Level 5, you deal an extra 6d6 damage to the target). **Improvised Weapons Prodigy**. You find a way to turn almost anything into a deadly weapon. When you make an attack with an Improvised Weapon, it deals 1d10 damage. **Spontaneous Assassin.** You may use your reaction to draw, stow, kick, or otherwise interact with a weapon. If you make an attack with a weapon directly after interacting with it using this ability and the attack hits, your target is Stunned until the end of the turn. ### 78 - Vibrational Emission - You have Resistance to Force and Thunder damage. - You may use *Earth Tremor, Shield, Shatter, Thunderclap, Thunderwave, Earthquake* and *Globe of Invulnerability* at will. ### 79 - Paralytic Touch You can make a melee touch attack against a creature. On a hit, they must take a Constitution saving throw against your Powers Save DC. On a failed save, they take 1d4 electricity damage and are Paralyzed for 8 hours. They can repeat this saving throw at the end of each of their turns, ending the effect on a success. ### 80 - Resurrection - You may use *Resurrection* and *Raise Dead* at will. ### 81 - Atomic Manipulation You are a living Philosopher’s Stone. As an action, you can manipulate and transform matter at the atomic level. You may replicate the effects of Wish at will to transform, transmute, assemble or disassemble matter, or change it from one state to another. Examples of using this power could include turning lead into gold, water into acid, ice into steam, oxygen into carbon monoxide, wheat into gunpowder, a cigarette into a pencil, or rocks into bubblegum. **Vaporize Projectile:** When you would be hit by a ranged attack, you may use your reaction to reduce the incoming attack to harmless dust and instead take no damage. ``` ``` ### 82 - Arachnid Physiology - You gain expertise in Acrobatics and have advantage on Acrobatics checks and Dexterity saving throws. - You may use *Web* and *Spider Climb* at will. The webs you create last indefinitely and are immune to Fire damage. If exposed to fire, the crystalline web structure becomes hard as glass (AC13, 1 Hit Points) causing any creature restrained inside it to take 2d12 slashing damage, and another 2d12 slashing damage to creatures inside when it is destroyed. - You have a **Bite** attack that deals 1d8 poison damage. Target must take a Con saving throw or be Poisoned for 1 hour. If the saving throw fails by 5 or more, the creature is also Unconscious while Poisoned in this way. ### 83 - Jekyll & Hyde Personality Your psyche splits into two distinct persons, each with its own abilities. Your new Hyde Personality is opposite to your alignment (ie if you're Lawful Good, they are Chaotic Evil), and you and your Hyde Personality both roll once on the d100 Power Manifestation table. Any time you roll a 1 on a d20, your personalities exchange control of your body. The ruling personality may elect to make an opposed Charisma check (rolled against the GM) to resist being overtaken by the other, retaining control of the body on a success. ### 84 - Supernatural Luck - Whenever you make an attack roll, ability check, or saving throw, you have advantage on the roll. - When an attack roll is made against you, roll a d20 and choose whether the attacker's roll uses their d20 roll or yours. Natural 20's rolled against you count as Natural 1's. - You are Immune to fall damage, your luck always finding you something soft to land on. - You are Immune to damage from traps, which either fail to activate or miss you completely. **Never the One.** Whenever you roll a 1 on a die, it counts as a natural 20. **"You Dont Want To Point That At Me"**. Creatures who target you with ranged weapons that use ammunition find their weapons prone to jamming and misfire when pointed at you. Any attack roll against you using such a weapon counts any even number rolled on the D20 as a 1 (ie a Critical Failure). ### 85 - Danger Sense - You have advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks. - When targeted by an attack or effect, you gain a blindsense out to 30ft that allows you to respond to it. - You can’t be surprised while you are conscious. - You gain a +10 bonus to initiative. - Other creatures don’t gain advantage on attack rolls against you as a result of being hidden from you. - Attack actions against you are made at disadvantage. - When you are targeted with an attack, you may make an Acrobatics check and compare it to the attack roll. If your skill check is higher than the attack roll, you dodge the attack and avoid all of its effects.

\page ### 86 - Superhuman Hearing You have a 300ft Blindsight that allows you to “see” the sounds around you within range. Your Blindsight does not work while Deafened. As an action, you can close your eyes and focus your superhuman senses to hear things happening within one mile of you. **Keen Hearing.** You have advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on hearing. **Uncanny Dodge.** When an attacker that you can hear hits you with an Attack, you can use your Reaction to take half damage. You may use this feature against any number of melee attacks without using your Reaction. ### 87 - Dimensional Ripper You can spontaneously generate extradimensional spaces in a void outside of time and space. You can use an action to spread your hands and create a tear in spacetime, inside which exists an extradimensional hole 10 feet deep. The cylindrical space within the hole exists in a void, so it can't be used to create open passages. Any creature inside one of these extradimensional spaces can exit the hole by climbing out of it. You can use an action to close a tear in spacetime by taking hold of the edges with your hands and pulling them together. Any creatures or Objects within remain in the extradimensional space. No matter what's in it, the extradimensional weighs next to nothing. **Void Shield:** When you can see an attacker when you would be hit by an attack, you can use your reaction to open an extradimensional space to absorb the attack so you are unharmed by it. You may treat any container, backpack, pocket, or similar Object as a Bag of Holding. ### 88 - Warp Reality - You may use *Hex, Thaumaturgy, Prestidigitation, Spare the Dying, Eldritch Blast, Witchbolt, Counterspell, Bestow or Remove Curse, Reality Break*, and *Wish* at will. The Wish power can wreak havoc on your mind and body if you’re not careful... up to the DMs discretion. ### 89 - Weather Control - You have a 30 ft. Fly speed. - You have resistance to lightning and cold damage. - You may use *Control Weather, Control Winds* and *Call Lightning* at will. Twice per rest you may use *Storm of Vengeance*. ### 90 - Self-Detonation **Self-Detonate:** As an action, you can explode. A *Fireball* explodes, centered on you. Your body splatters gore across the radius of the explosion. When a creature witnesses you explode, they must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw against your Powers Save DC. On a failed save, they are Frightened for 1 minute. At the end of an affected creature’s turn, they may repeat this saving throw, ending the Frightened condition on themself. **"Take Y'all With Me"**: Unless you are you are reduced to 0 Hit Points by Cold Damage, you are not killed. Instead, you Self-Detonate. **Pull Yourself Together:** After you Self-Detonate, your body pulls itself back together in 2d6 rounds and you regain half your total Hit Points. If you are reduced to 0 Hit Points by Cold damage, this trait doesn't function.You are killed only if you start your turn with 0 Hit Points and are not under the effect of your Pull Yourself Together trait. ### 91 - Black Hole Generation **Generate Black Hole**: As an action, you create (or terminate) a 5ft diameter Sphere at a point that you can see. The Sphere obliterates all matter it passes through and all matter that passes through it. A 100 ft radius of difficult terrain extends from the Sphere in all directions. Unsecured objects are dragged directly towards it at 25 ft per round when it appears and at the beginning of each of your turns. Each creature within 100 feet of the Sphere when it appears must make a Strength saving throw against your Powers Save DC. On a failed save, the creature takes 1d4 force damage and is pulled 25 feet toward the Sphere. On a successful save, the creature takes half as much damage and isn’t pulled toward the Sphere. If a creature is pulled inside the Black Hole after failing a Strength save, they’re instantly killed as they are crushed by the intense gravity. You are immune to the effects of your Black Holes. **Spaghettifying Strike:** Your unarmed attack deals (5d10) Force damage and reduces a targets speed to 0 until the start of its next turn. This damage increases by 1d10 for each character level you gain. If this attack reduces a creature to 0 Hit Points, each of your Enemies that can see it must take a Wisdom saving throw vs your Power Save DC to become *frightened* of you until the start of your next turn. ### 92 - Patient Zero - You Constitution Score becomes 20. - You are Immune to all Damage, Effects and Conditions from all Poisons and Diseases. - You may use *Contagion*, *Detect Poison & Disease* at will. **Living Plague Index:** As an action, you touch a Poison or a Poisoned or Diseased creature or corpse, and you absorb the Poison or Disease into your system. Take a DC10 Con save; on a success the absorbed Poison or Disease becomes a permanent choice to afflict with your Contagion ability. **Weaponized Immunological Memory:** Your *Contagion* options include any disease your immune system contains antibodies for (ie diseases you've had or are vaccinated for). **Lingering Petri Dish:** As a bonus action, you can touch a surface and leave a Disease or Poison upon it for 24 hours. **Contagious Aura:** You have a Contagious Aura with a radius equal to your Character Level x 5ft. You may use Contagion against any target within your Contagious Aura. **Viral Unload:** Twice per rest, you may use an action to target all creatures within your Contagious Aura. Choose one of your *Contagion* Disease options. Each creature must make a Constitution saving throw against your Powers Save DC or be infected with that Disease until cured. **Immunocompromised:** Poisoned or Diseased creatures have Disadvantage on saving throws against your Powers Save DC and you have Advantage on *Contagion* attacks actions against them.

### **Superpowers Design Note**: For fun and ease of gameplay, we assume characters intrinsically understand the abilities granted by their Power Manifestation and can use them immediately. You may wish to tell your story differently and keep parts of their powers a secret, to be discovered as you introduce the players to them in new situations. As GM, its all up to you. #### Option: Gradual Power Realization With this "more realistic" and hard mode style of gameplay, your heroes don't know the full extent of their abilities when they receive them. Instead, they discover them over time at the GM's discretion, who grants them as free actions: **Example**: Harrison rolls a 13 on the d100 table, scoring "Fire Generation." Instead of giving Harrison the full text of the Fire Generation Power Manifestation, the GM instead describes how the power first manifests. *Flames begin to race across your skin, and your hands flare with heat and light- the intensity of both raising by the milisecond. You begin to feel an anxious rush and small fire balls pop from your fingertips, dealing 1d10 fire damage to the medical pod. You yell out in pain and confusion and the small motes of flame become a whooshing collumn of fire from your palms, dealing 4d8 fire damage to the medical pod. Your screaming trails off as you notice the fire isn't harming you at all. It actually kinda tickles... You've discovered the first few abilites from your Power Manifestation! You are Immune to Fire Damage, and you can use Fire Bolt and Investiture of Flame at will; mark those abilities down and let me know what you do next."* Harrison uses his newfound abilities to destroy the medical pod and escape. A MIC Security Goon rushes at him and hits him with a baton, dealing damage and offering the opportunity to reveal another ability: *As the guard strikes you with his baton, he is engulfed in a burst of flame from your body, taking (2d10) fire damage! Note that you can use Hellish Rebuke twice per rest.* **Have fun with it.** \page ## Scene 2: Breakout! Now that our heroes are powered up, it's up to the characters to make their escape from the lab! Breaking them requires a successful DC 20 Strength check. Characters may also find other ways to break free using their new powers, such as teleportation. The medical pods themselves are made of metal and reinforced glass. The pods have AC 15, 18 Hit Points, Vulnerability to Sonic/Thunder damage and resistance to fire and bludgeoning damage. **Enemies:** There are four armed guards (3 **MIC Security Team Goons** and a **MIC Security Team Veteran**) in the operating room to be wary of. Twelve **MIC Scientists** assist the villain, **Dr Joseph Powers**. **Viewing Theater:** The Operating Theater’s viewing area is set 12ft up on the room’s western wall (“**i**” on the map). The viewers watch from behind a 5ft tall x 90ft length of reinforced bulletproof glass installed in 10ft panels. Each reinforced panel has AC18, 20 Hit Points, and resistance to, fire and kinetic (bludgeoning, piercing, slashing) damage. > ##### MIC Control Collar > (*adventuring gear*) > > A control collar may be attached to an incapacitated or grappled creature as a full-round action. Removing the collar is also a full-round action, and the creature removing it must have the precise code capable of releasing the magnetic locking mechanism. Any creature holding the control collar’s remote has control of the collared creature as if they are under the permanent effects of Dominate Person and Geas, able to give verbal or written commands via the device. > > **Safety Mode:** As a bonus action, apply or remove the Stunned Condition to/from the creature]. **Alarm**. If subjects break containment and incapacitate the guards, one of the scattering lab assistant sounds the base alarm and two security team veterans appear at the door in the northern wall to escort Doctor Powers to a panic room. The bidders/observers flee from the viewing area in panic with a security detail. The security team’s orders are to subdue escapees and affix each with a control collar, not shoot to kill. The characters represent a substantial investment and Doctor Power’s project backers expect results. 30 seconds (5 rounds) after the alarm sounds, ten MIC Security Team Goons arrive through the western plexiglass doors and attack. This should give the players time to help each other out of the restraints if any are still trapped and have their first fight as a party. Bonus points if you have a bunch of goons try to dogpile a strong player as they’re trying to free someone else- its all about the cinematics with the goons. **Ethical Questions.** A couple of the lab assistants shouldn’t make it out of the room when the alarm sounds and the doors lock, instead hiding behind machines or cowering in fear and begging for their lives if approached or targeted. This will give the players their first chance to decide if they are heroes or villains. Do they let these scientists live? The lab assistants and security team members have knowledge of the base’s layout, defenses, and passcodes. Some may carry keycards allowing access to certain doors. Characters with the right powers or the proper leverage could take advantage of this to help them escape. **PA System**. Should the characters survive their initial encounter, Doctor Powers will have reached his panic room and taps into the PA system to speak to them. As his voice begins over the speakers, a DC 13 Perception check will reveal that the doctor is likely watching them through security cameras which are visibly tracking the character’s movements. The camera network spans throughout the facility. The doctor can hear the characters as well, should they attempt to communicate with him.

##### Dr Powers over the PA System *The PA system crackles overhead:* “My children, please, end this foolishness before one of you gets hurt. You are part of something greater than you could ever imagine. Let me help you- together we can realize your full potential. There is nowhere for you to run, anyhow; any successful escapees from this facility will be labeled terrorists and hunted down as enemies of the United States of America. Now, power down and let us talk.”

**Gas Trap** The doctor is trying to stall the players and keep them in the room, as a security team member in the control center begins to flood the sealed room with knock-out gas, which fills the room in 1d4 rounds. Creatures subject to the knockout gas must succeed on a DC 13 Constitution saving throw or be Poisoned for 1 hour. If the saving throw fails by 5 or more, the creature is also Unconscious while Poisoned in this way. The creature wakes up if it takes damage or if another creature takes an action to shake it awake. A security team in gas masks will move in to secure the subjects six rounds after the gas fills the room.

\page ## Scene 3: Escape! ##### Common facility Features **Floor and Walls:** Reinforced Concrete, 20ft ceilings. **Doors.** Autolocking plexiglass doors are AC 14, 20 Hit Points, immune to poison and psychic. Blast Doors are AC20, 50 Hit Points; immune to poison, psychic, fire; resistance to all damage types; Damage Threshold 5. **Illumination:** Well lit (Bright LED panels) **Energy**: The base is on its own power grid. **Data:** The facility is airgapped, meaning its computers have no network interfaces connected to outside networks. ### Things to Note in Corridors on map - **a** (2) Security Team Veterans and (12) Security Team Goons armed with riot shields (+2 AC) confront the party. - **5c** A terrified scientist hides in this empty hallway. With a successful DC12 Intimidation Check you can probably squueze some information out of them. - **9c** Doctor Powers’ Panic Room. He’s holed up in there, Wizard of OZ style. He’s unarmed, but watching the party’s progress across a wall of security monitors. - **9i** A scientist rushes through reading notes off a clipboard, not noticing the party until they are just feet away. - **e** A security terminal is set into the wall. Doctor Powers is seen on screen, reminding them there is no escape. - **3i** The Operating Theater’s viewing area is set 12feet up on the room’s western wall. Viewers watch from behind a 5ft tall x 90ft length of reinforced bulletproof glass in 10ft panels. He’s got ahold of a 9mm pistol and he’s not afraid to use it. “STAY BACK FREAKS!” - **r** (12) Security Team Goons confront the party. - **s** Security cameras scan the area. - **u** Subject Oscar-Gold is deployed in this hallway with (6) Security Team Goons and a Security Team Veteran. - **v** Alcoves cut into the cement walls house a server mill in this area. - **w** Knock-Out Gas Trap: the corridor begins to flood with knock-out gas when players reach the “w”. Gas fills the entire length of the hallway in 1d4 rounds. Creatures subject to the knockout gas must succeed on a DC 13 Constitution saving throw or be Poisoned for 1 hour. ### Roleplaying NPCs and Monsters The NPCs in the base can be characterized with the following tropes: - **Dr Josef Powers** The doctor is *gasp* Josef Mengele in disguise. Psychic characters might be able to find that out. He has the **Immortality** Power Manifestation and looks like he did in 1944. Tropes to characterize the bastard easily include "Mad Doctor," "Herr Doktor," "Older Than They Look." He suffers from "Bond Villain Stupidity." - **Scientists** The scientists working this facility are brilliant geneticists- unscrupulous, scheming, and looking to prove themselves to the Doctor by any means necessary. Captured scientists will undoubtably try to lead the party into traps. Their usual response to characters is running away or using **Beg, Cower and Grovel** long enough to lure a subject near enough to attack with a syringe. - **Security Teams** Security Goons and Veterans are Blackwater military contractors and won't negotiate with subjects. Tropes wise, they're our classic "Faceless Goons"- tough guys who are "Just Following Orders". - **Subject Whiskey-Bravo** When it comes to Tropes these guys are the doc's Elite Mooks. Calculating hunters, these soldiers are made by the dozen with stabilized Serum 33. If the characters kill a Whiskey-Bravo, his wolfpack will want revenge... - **Subject Zeta-Prime** Tortured into catatonia by countless experiments, Zeta-Prime's humanity is buried below the cold and alien instincts of its ooze form. This room is filled with cubic 10ft holding cells, each filled with a solitary super powered prisoner (randomly determine the prisoners’ abilities each time you run this module using the d100 Power Manifestation table). Each prisoner held here is affixed with a Control Collar, and until ordered to take an action they remain Stunned. Players might try to free these poor souls- bonus points to the GM if some of these prisoners are real life friends, enemies or acquaintances of players. The cell doors have AC 20, 20 Hit Points, and Immunity to poison, psychic, and any damage types the prisoner inside can deal. Theres likely a few healing kits around as well. **Encounter.** A Security Team Veteran and Subject Whiskey-Bravo 4 attempt to capture the party. Whiskey-Bravo 4 has the Werebeast Physiology Power Manifestation, and is encountered in his wolf-human hybrid form, armed with his trusty M4 carbine and wearing his combat armor. Whiskey-Bravo 4 is one of twelve soldiers who willingly underwent the process with the Doctor’s stabilized Serum # 33, turning them all into wolf-men. Depending on how powerful your party is, you could always include a few more wolfmen to smack down with. Only killing a few out of the pack max now and having some off-base will let you run a “We’re being hunted by Special Forces Werewolves with a grudge” adventure in the future, so we’d suggest you don’t kill the entire pack off right now. But hey, Serum # 33 is stabilized. There could always be more squads out there.

All of the patients held in cryogenic storage here suffer from the Horrible Mutation Power Manifestation, held in stasis to be sold to less scrupulous buyers or simply let loose on the city. Roll to randomly determine their powers. If the party is about to discover him, the doctor will defrost and activate a monster or two to throw at them. Maybe the mad doctor looses all the mutants to track them down if the characters escape. Do they help them or just leave them? ### The Elevator When players make it to an elevator, they can use a security keycard to ascend a quarter mile and escape into the lobby of the local landmark you chose for your setting. Now's a good time to sound the base's self-destruct alarm. Have the building go kaboom once the heroes get into the yard. You’ve got it handled from here: Explosions, cops, news crews and a new team of heroes!
