# Introduction Welcome to a new adventure, in a different land. From far and wide, you have travelled to Thedas, prepared for the monsters (both human and otherwise) that await you. In this Dragon Age to D&D conversion, you can find yourself playing two games in one, a mix of the best TTRPG systems and your favourite game. ## Homebrew Conversions As is to be expected, I have had to homebrew a LOT of stuff for this to work. Dragon Age is based off a totally different system, and has 3 classes, compared to the D&D 12. I have boiled them down into 3 classes plus subclasses. Races have been taken mostly from the PHB with some changes made (especially to human). Backgrounds have been taken from the PHB and homebrewed/reflavoured, so there is a lot of versatility there! Feats are entirely made by me, inspired by others. ### Races Most of the races are just variants of the PHB races. I have made some changes that I saw fit, and have added things where they make the most sense. I have done my best to keep the races as close to the 4 we see in Dragon Age. ### Classes Because of the 3 class system in Dragon Age, I had a few problems figuring out how to run it. Eventually, I settled on a system that would stick to the original game while taking some things from D&D. The Warrior Class is based off of the Fighter Class, the Rogue Class is based off of the Rogue Class, and the Mage Class is based off of the Sorcerer Class. With these changes come a new learning curve: The characters you make won't be as set apart by their class, but by their subclass. I have made 4 subclasses for each class, each taken from different games and granting them different abilities.

``` ``` ### Magic Magic was one of the hardest things to get the hang of. Dragon Age works on a mana system, and D&D works on a spell slot based system. I have elected to keep the spell slot system, but I have changed things around. Because of the fact that spells are limited to certain classes, I have also had to change the spell list for our mages. This was taken from: https://www.enworld.org/threads/reworking-spell-lists-reducing-sameyness.670253/ and then slightly modified by me. Additionally, our mages will get different spells to add to their repertoire as they level up. Additionally, I have had to rework multiple types of potions, like Lyrium potions, that appear in Dragon Age but have no direct translation in D&D.

# Races In the vast and wonderful world of Thedas, there are four races, each with their own rich history and different attributes.
You can choose from any of the four classes, and, at the discretion of your DM, can make changes to them as you see fit. **The Ability Score Increases are suggestions, and we follow the rules in Tasha's - you can move them as you need.** Special thanks to 'Wren V.' for writing the descriptions for these blocks! ### Elves Mere shadows of what their people once were, the elves’ state in Thedas today is both divided and divisive. Most of their ancient, and what can only be assumed to have been awe inspiring culture has been lost to time and conflicts with the arrival of the humans in Thedas. Now a majority live in alienages, a type of ghetto in cities dividing the elves from humans. These are the descendants of those who submitted to the Exalted Marches, and many are pulled into servitude by nobles. The other part of the elven population lives as nomads called the Dalish, travelling through the wilds of the continent in an attempt to preserve their culture. Elves have a smaller build than humans, typically shorter and more lanky, as well as having pointed ears and a natural affinity for magic. ***Ability Score Increase.*** Your Dexterity increases by 2 and your Wisdom increases by 1. ***Size.*** Your size is medium. ***Speed.*** Your base walking speed is 35ft. ***Languages.*** You can read, write, and speak Common fluently. ***Darkvision.*** Accustomed to twilit forests and the night sky, you have superior vision in dark and dim conditions. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can’t discern color in darkness, only shades of gray. ***Keen Senses.*** You have proficiency in the Perception skill. ***Cantrip.*** You learn one cantrip of your choice.

``` ``` ### Humans The humans are currently the most powerful race in Thedas, but not the oldest. Originating in tribes, there is no homogenous culture to be ascribed to the human race. Although some have split off into tribes, or rather stayed in their tribes, humans make up the entirety of thedosian nobility and can mainly be found in cities and villages all across Thedas. ***Ability Score Increase.*** Your Intelligence increases by 1 and your Charisma increases by 2. ***Size.*** Your size is medium. ***Speed.*** Your base walking speed is 30ft. ***Languages.*** You can read, write, and speak Common and one extra language of your choice fluently. ***Skill Versatility.*** You gain proficiency in two skills of your choice. ***Lucky.*** When you roll a 1 on a d20 for an attack roll, ability check, or saving throw, you can reroll the dice and must use the new roll.

### Dwarves The robust and stocky dwarves live in underground civilizations called thaigs. With the surfacing of Darkspawn, the dwarven people have taken the brunt of the hit - forced to keep darkspawn hordes that reside underground at bay. Most thaigs have been destroyed by time and darkspawn, the only two that are known to remain are Orzammar and Kal-Sharok. ***Ability Score Increase.*** Your Strength increases by 1 and your Constitution increases by 2. ***Size.*** Your size is medium. ***Speed.*** Your base walking speed is 25ft. ***Languages.*** You can read, write, and speak Common fluently. ***Darkvision.*** Accustomed to life underground, you have superior vision in dark and dim conditions. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can’t discern color in darkness, only shades of gray. ***Dwarven Resilience.*** You can subtract an amount of damage equal to your constitution modifier from any magical damage taken ***Dwarven Training.*** You have proficiency with the battleaxe, handaxe, light hammer, and warhammer. ***Stone Cunning.*** Whenever you make an Intelligence (History) check related to the origin of stonework, you are considered proficient in the History skill and add double your proficiency bonus to the check, instead of your normal proficiency bonus. ___ **Due to the Dwarves' lack of connection to the fade, Dwarves can not be mages.**

### Kossith Described as the Kossith is the horned race only recently introduced to Thedas by the arrival of Qunari battleships called dreadnaughts. The Qun, a religion largely made up of Kossith, is one heavily built around discipline and control. The culture largely depends on the assignment of roles in society, and anyone who rebels is either sent to re-education by the Ben Hassrath, or branded Tal-Vashoth, a traitor to the Qun. ***Ability Score Increase.*** Your Constitution increases by 1 and your Strength increases by 2. ***Size.*** Your size is medium. ***Speed.*** Your base walking speed is 30ft. ***Languages.*** You can read, write, and speak Common and Qunlat fluently. ***Menacing.*** You gain proficiency in the Intimidation skill. ***Relentless Endurance.*** When you are reduced to 0 hit points but not killed outright, you can drop to 1 hit point instead. You can’t use this feature again until you take a long rest. ***Savage Attacks.*** When you score a critical hit with a melee weapon attack, you can roll one of the weapon’s damage dice one additional time and add it to the extra damage of the critical hit. \page

# Classes A fearsome Warrior, a cunning Rogue, or a powerful Mage make up the Dragon Age classes. This is a different array from the D&D classes, but veteran players will notice the classes based off of specific areas of 5e classes or subclasses. Despite the composition of your team, you will never find yourself unbalanced or lacking, as each subclass has a variety of abilities that make it important for a team dynamic and as a powerful protaganist. For Dungeons and Dragons, the base class you choose is what sets you apart from others. But not here. The subclass, the path you choose to specialise in, is what will really make up your team. Talk to your DM and your teammates about what you want to play and making the most balanced team for you. If your DM is up to it, they can absolutely make you another subclass to embody your favourite one from the game!

# Warrior A fearsome foe to encounter on the battlefield, the Warrior can strike fear into the hearts of their opponenets and cut them down where they stand. Typically raised with a sword in their hand or turned to fighting to make a living, the Warrior is strong, brutal, and would do anything to win a battle. His sword in hand, a shield covering his torso, the Warrior charges forward with a battle cry that strikes fear into the heart of his enemies. Carrying a Greatsword taller than her, the Warrior gives her enemies one last chance to stand down before she cuts them down where they stand. With a variety of options to choose from, the Warrior can protect their allies and themselves in the midst of battle, healing themselves or taking hits for those not as strong as them.

Choose one of the following options. ____ #### Defense While you are wearing armor, you gain a +1 bonus to AC. #### Dueling When you are wielding a melee weapon in one hand and no other weapons, you gain a +2 bonus to damage rolls with that weapon. #### Great Weapon Fighting When you roll a 1 or 2 on a damage die for an attack you make with a melee weapon that you are wielding with two hands, you can reroll the die and must use the new roll, even if the new roll is a 1 or a 2. The weapon must have the two-handed or versatile property for you to gain this benefit. #### Protection When a creature you can see attacks a target other than you that is within 5 feet of you, you can use your reaction to impose disadvantage on the attack roll. You must be wielding a shield. ### Second Wind You have a limited well of stamina that you can draw on to protect yourself from harm. On your turn, you can use a bonus action to regain hit points equal to 1d10 + your warrior level. Once you use this feature, you must finish a short or long rest before you can use it again. ``` ``` ### Action Surge Starting at 2nd level, you can push yourself beyond your normal limits for a moment. On your turn, you can take one additional action. Once you use this feature, you must finish a short or long rest before you can use it again. Starting at 17th level, you can use it twice before a rest, but only once on the same turn. ### Martial Archetype At 3rd level, you choose an archetype that you strive to emulate in your combat styles and techniques. Choose Berserker, Reaver, Templar, or Guardian, all detailed at the end of the class description. The archetype you choose grants you features at 3rd level and again at 7th, 10th, 15th, and 18th level. ### Ability Score Improvement When you reach 4th level, and again at 6th, 8th, 12th, 14th, 16th, and 19th level, you can increase one ability score of your choice by 2, or you can increase two ability scores of your choice by 1. As normal, you can’t increase an ability score above 20 using this feature. Using the optional feats rule, you can forgo taking this feature to take a feat of your choice instead. ### Extra Attack Beginning at 5th level, you can attack twice, instead of once, whenever you take the Attack action on your turn. The number of attacks increases to three when you reach 11th level in this class and to four when you reach 20th level in this class. ### Indomitable Beginning at 9th level, you can reroll a saving throw that you fail. If you do so, you must use the new roll, and you can’t use this feature again until you finish a long rest. You can use this feature twice between long rests starting at 13th level and three times between long rests starting at 17th level.

## Martial Archetypes Different warriors choose different approaches to perfecting their fighting prowess. The martial archetype you choose to emulate reflects your approach. ### Berserker For some warriors, rage is a means to an end—that end being violence. The Path of the Berserker is a path of untrammelled fury, slick with blood. As you enter the Berserker’s rage, you thrill in the chaos of battle, heedless of your own health or well-being. #### Rage When you choose this archetype at 3rd level, you gain access to an unbridled, primal rage. On your turn, you can enter a rage as a bonus action. While raging, you gain the following benefits if you aren’t wearing heavy armor: - You have advantage on Strength checks and Strength saving throws. - When you make a melee weapon attack using Strength, you gain a bonus to the damage roll equal to your proficiency bonus divided by two. - You have resistance to bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage. Your rage lasts for 1 minute. It ends early if you are knocked unconscious or if your turn ends and you haven’t attacked a hostile creature since your last turn or taken damage since then. You can also end your rage on your turn as a bonus action. You can rage one time, and you must then finish a long rest before you can rage again. #### Primal Instincts By 7th level, your instincts are so honed that you have advantage on initiative rolls. Additionally, if you are surprised at the beginning of combat and aren’t incapacitated, you can act normally on your first turn, but only if you enter your rage before doing anything else on that turn. #### Intimidating Presence Beginning at 10th level, you can use your action to frighten someone with your menacing presence. When you do so, choose one creature that you can see within 30 feet of you. If the creature can see or hear you, it must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw (DC equal to 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Charisma modifier) or be frightened of you until the end of your next turn. On subsequent turns, you can use your action to extend the duration of this effect on the frightened creature until the end of your next turn. This effect ends if the creature ends its turn out of line of sight or more than 60 feet away from you. ___ If the creature succeeds on its saving throw, you can’t use this feature on that creature again for 24 hours. ``` ``` #### Retatliation Starting at 15th level, when you take damage from a creature that is within 5 feet of you, you can use your reaction to make a melee weapon attack against that creature. #### Indomitable Might Beginning at 18th level, if your total for a Strength check is less than your Strength score, you can use that score in place of the total.

``` ``` ### Reaver A reaver’s choice to draw power from blood, whether their own or that of their foes, has made them a force to be reckoned with. You fight harder when you’re heavily wounded, accepting the high risk that comes with this style for the ability to terrorize your enemies on the battlefield. #### Drain Life Starting at 3rd level, you gain the ability to regain strength from the pain you deal to enemies. As a bonus action, you activate this blood draining mode. For one minute, or until you are knocked unconscious, you regain hit points equal to half the damage you deal to enemies with attacks. Once you use this feature, you must finish a long rest before you can use Drain Life again. #### Blood Sacrifice Starting at 7th level, your attacks hit harder the worse you’re hurt. When you are below your hit point maximum, add 1d4 to your damage roll. When you are 25% below your hit point maximum, add 1d6 to your damage roll. When you are 50% below your hit point maximum, add 1d12 to your damage roll. When you are 75% below your hit point maximum, double the damage of any successful attack you make. #### Purgatory Starting at 10th level, when you kill an enemy with your attack, you are fueled by their pain, and emanate an aura of death. Each creature that starts its turn within 10 feet of you (including yourself) takes 1d4 necrotic damage. This damage cannot be resisted or overcome through immunity and the aura persists for one round, or until you are knocked unconcious. #### Scent of Blood Starting at 15th level, when you reduce an enemy to 0hp on your turn, you can use your reaction to make a second melee attack against a different creature within range. If hit, this second attack is counted as a critical hit. Once you use this ability, you must finish a short or long rest before you can use it again. #### Rampage At 18th level, you can unleash a fury of primal, bloody rage. You can take a cut to your health equal to your proficiency bonus times your level and gain resistance to all non-magical types of damage. Furthermore, when in this mode, you gain a boost to your damage, and can add 1d12 to any successful damage roll on your turn. This mode lasts one minute, and you must finish a short or long rest before you can use it again.

### Templar As a Templar, you have dedicated yourself to the cause of protecting innocents from magic and as part of the Chantry, many regard you as a righteous servant of Andraste. Templar training allows you to suppress and shrug off magical attacks and effects, but with the oath comes the burden of needing to take lyrium to sustain the usage of your powers. #### Lyrium To fuel your abilities, you must take lyrium. Every day, you must take a small supply of lyrium. When you take this subclass, you will be given 10 lesser potions of lyrium. Every day you do not take a supply of lyrium, you must make a constitution saving throw (DC 12) or take one level of exhaustion. #### Heightened Senses At 3rd level, you gain the ability to resist magic, assisted by the lyrium in your veins. ___ You gain advantage on saving throws against magic. #### Mage Nemesis At 7th level, you gain the ability to thwart someone else's magic. When you see a creature casting a spell or teleporting within 60 feet of you, you can use your reaction to try to foil it. The creature must succeed on a Constitution saving throw against your DC (8 + proficiency bonus + Constitution modifier), or its spell or teleport fails and is wasted. Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a short or long rest. #### Templar's Wrath At 10th level, you gain the ability to stun nearby enemies. As an action, you can summon a blinding pillar of light that attempts to stun nearby enemies. Any darkspawn or demons within 30ft of you must make a Constitution saving throw against your DC (8 + proficiency bonus + Constitution modifier), or be Stunned for one round. Once you use this action, you must finish a short or long rest before you use it again. #### Aura of Cleansing At 15th level, your senses are heightened and you are able to resist more magical abilities. As a reaction, you can activate this mode for one minute. This mode grants you resistance to magical attacks, and you emanate an aura. You are the center of this 10ft cube, and any friendly creatures within this aura receive the following effects: - Mages have disadvantage to hit them with magic - They have resistance to magical attacks Once you use this ability, you must finish a long rest before you can use it again. ``` ``` #### Light in the Dark At 18th level, your faith provides a shield for you and your allies. As a bonus action, you can activate this mode, increasing your resistance to damage. You gain the following benefits: - You gain resistance to fire, ice, and electric damage. - You can choose one ally to shield from harm, imposing disadvantage to hit them and shielding them from opportunity attacks for one turn. This mode lasts one minute and you must finish a long rest before you can use it again.

``` ``` ### Guardian When a Guardian enters the battlefield they are there for one thing - to protect, even if it means taking a hit in someone’s stead. Enemies will encounter the seemingly immovable Guardians on the front lines of combat, spurred on by the desire to ensure their companions’ survival. #### Defensive Stance At 3rd level, as an action you can take an all-out defensive stance when you're holding your shield. While you're in this stance, you have resistance to all damage except psychic and add your proficiency bonus to your AC. If a creature of your size or smaller is directly behind you, Ranged Attacks and Ranged Spell Attacks have disadvantage to hit them. Area of affect spells do not take disadvantage. Your movement speed is halved when you are in a defensive stance. This stance lasts until the start of your next turn. #### Provoke Starting at 7th level, as a bonus action you may force all foes within a 30ft radius to direct their single target attacks and actions at you until the start of your next turn or receive disadvantage. If a spell requiring a saving throw is cast while under the effects of provoke, then the target or targets have advantage on their saving throw. All targets affected must make an insight check to contest against your Persuasion check. This mode lasts for 10 minutes or until you drop it (no action needed). You can use this a number of times equal to 1 + your Charisma modifier (minimum 1 time) per short or long rest. #### Sentinel At 10th level, once a creature that you can see within 5ft of you is hit with an attack roll, you can use your reaction to swap places with the creature, and you are hit by the attack instead. Additionally, when a creature makes an attack against a target other than you, you can use your reaction to make a melee weapon attack against the attacking creature. #### Fortification At 15th level, the Guardian receives a boost to their innate abilities. As a bonus action, you can activate this mode, shielding up to 4 creatures including yourself from damage. For one minute, every creature has a boost to their AC equal to their Constitution modifier (minimum of 1). You can end this mode on your turn with a bonus action. #### Undying Protector At 18th level, you can no longer be critically hit, any attempt to knock you prone has disadvantage and the distance you can be shoved is halved. ### Tempest Tempests are Rogues that have sought to channel magical effects into elixirs and potions. Whether to summon fire or ice, Tempests use their alchemical skills to grow more resilient, or more punishing in combat. The way of the Tempest is one of chaos, disorienting your foes with flashes of fire, injury and evading their attacks. #### The Alchemist At third level, you gain access to a wide arsenal of flasks that can aid you and your allies in battle. You can use up to 3 flasks per long rest. ##### Flask of Frost You gain the ability to protect yourself or allies from harm. As a bonus action, you can coat yours or an allies skin and gear in an icy cover that grants you armour and deals damage to enemies that hit you. You gain 5 temporary hit points for 1 hour. If a creature hits you with a melee attack while you have these hit points, the creature takes 5 cold damage. The hit points and damage increases by 5 as you gain levels. This increase happens at levels 8, 16, and 19. ##### Flask of Fire You gain the ability to wreak firey havoc on the battlefield. As an action, you can throw this flask to create a large area of flames. This vial can be thrown at a point within 30ft of you, and the flames have a 15ft diameter which burns until the end of your next turn. Any creatures that starts, ends, or walks into the flames on its turn, takes 3d6 fire damage. The damage increases by 1d6 as you gain levels. # Mage A powerful connection to the Fade aids the Mage in harnessing preternatural abilities. This class commands the battlefield with spells, sometimes great waves of fire, othertimes burrowing into the mind of those across from them. This backline fighter is a formidable foe to encounter. His staff glowing brightly, the Mage speaks in a strange language before the ground opens up beneath the oncoming army, swallowing them whole. Taking the shape of a bear, the Mage growls at the man dumb enough to oppose her. Within moments, he is nothing but a mess on the ground and she is licking her paws, content. You regain all spent arcane points when you finish a long rest. #### Flexible Casting You can use your arcane points to gain additional spell slots, or sacrifice spell slots to gain additional arcane points. You learn other ways to use your arcane points as you reach higher levels. **Creating Spell Slots.** You can transform unexpended arcane points into one spell slot as a bonus action on your turn. The Creating Spell Slots table shows the cost of creating a spell slot of a given level. You can create spell slots no higher in level than 5th. You gain two of the following Metamagic options of your choice. You gain another one at 10th and 17th level. You can use only one Metamagic option on a spell when you cast it, unless otherwise noted. #### Careful Spell When you cast a spell that forces other creatures to make a saving throw, you can protect some of those creatures from the spell’s full force. To do so, you spend 1 arcane point and choose a number of those creatures up to your Charisma modifier (minimum of one creature). A chosen creature automatically succeeds on its saving throw against the spell. #### Distant Spell When you cast a spell that has a range of 5 feet or greater, you can spend 1 arcane point to double the range of the spell. When you cast a spell that has a range of touch, you can spend 1 arcane point to make the range of the spell 30 feet. #### Empowered Spell When you roll damage for a spell, you can spend 1 arcane point to reroll a number of the damage dice up to your Charisma modifier (minimum of one). You must use the new rolls. You can use Empowered Spell even if you have already used a different Metamagic option during the casting of the spell. #### Extended Spell When you cast a spell that has a duration of 1 minute or longer, you can spend 1 arcane point to double its duration, to a maximum duration of 24 hours. #### Heightened Spell When you cast a spell that forces a creature to make a saving throw to resist its effects, you can spend 3 arcane points to give one target of the spell disadvantage on its first saving throw made against the spell. #### Quickened Spell When you cast a spell that has a casting time of 1 action, you can spend 2 arcane points to change the casting time to 1 bonus action for this casting. ``` ``` #### Subtle Spell When you cast a spell, you can spend 1 arcane point to cast it without any somatic or verbal components. #### Twinned Spell When you cast a spell that targets only one creature and doesn’t have a range of self, you can spend a number of arcane points equal to the spell’s level to target a second creature in range with the same spell (1 arcane point if the spell is a cantrip). To be eligible, a spell must be incapable of targeting more than one creature at the spell’s current level. For example, magic missile and scorching ray aren’t eligible, but ray of frost and chromatic orb are. ### Ability Score Improvement When you reach 4th level, and again at 8th, 12th, 16th, and 19th level, you can increase one ability score of your choice by 2, or you can increase two ability scores of your choice by 1. As normal, you can’t increase an ability score above 20 using this feature. Using the optional feats rule, you can forgo taking this feature to take a feat of your choice instead. ### Spirit Restoration At 20th level, you regain 4 expended arcane points whenever you finish a short rest.

## Fade Caster Different Mages work with different types of magic, choosing to aid their team in different ways. ### Force Mage A force mage chooses to work with the most powerful tool always at their disposal - the mind. Using rigorous precision, you energetically manipulate any spaces you occupy, gaining the ability to slow, crush and throw your enemies on the battlefield.

The unarmed attack roll is not changed and follows normal rules for attacking. A Force Mage can use this ability equal to their proficiency bonus per short or long rest. At 6th level, A Force Mage's skill with unarmed is increased from their experience in combat and their unarmed attack damage increases to 1d4. Additionally, the energy surrounding the fist gains one of two options when cast. - A successful attack will now explode with enough concussion to temporarily deafen the target creature if it fails a Constitution save against your Spell Save DC. - A successful attack will now explode with enough kinetic energy to knock the target creature back 5 ft if it fails a Strength save against your Spell Save DC. This effect activates when you hit an enemy with force fist. ``` ``` #### Backlash At 6th level, the Force Mage can use their inherent understanding of the energy around them to reduce the damage of one hostile creature's physical attack they are hit with as long as it is of the slashing, piercing, bludgeoning, or force magic type. As a reaction, you can reduce the attack by (half Mage Level rounded down)d6 and reflect that amount back at the attacker. Hostile creatures with multiple weapons of differing attack types that can attack with both weapons in the same action are affected the same as long as those attacks are physical in nature. Any damage dealt by a hostile creatures that is not physical (acid, cold, fire, etc.) will deal normal damage and is unaffected by Backlash. Once you use this feature, you must complete a long rest before you can use it again. #### Unrelenting Starting at 14th level, your power has grown to shield yourself from damage or conditions that would interrupt combat. You can no longer be knocked prone by non-magical means, and you have advantage on saving throws to keep concentration after being hit by a melee attack. #### A Force to be Reckoned with Starting at 18th level, you are so proficient with your magic that you can make others take hits when they normally wouldn’t. When you attack with a force spell, you can choose one of the following effects to be used before you choose to cast the spell. - You can force up to 3 creatures to automatically fail the saving throw for your force spell. - You can give yourself advantage to hit with a force spell. - You can double the damage done with your force spell. All of these can apply to Force Fist. Once you use this feature, you can’t use it again until you finish a long rest.

### Blood Mage There is little that inspires more terror than the appearance of a Blood Mage on the battlefield. You twist and control the power of life that fuels every soul and body in Thedas, using it to make things, both horrifying and incredible alike possible. Roll and expend one hit dice per spell slot level expended and take that damage (a level 2 spell would force you to roll 2d6 and so on so forth). While in this mode, you can not be healed. You may end your Blood Magic as a bonus action, or by falling to 0hp. You can use this ability a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus before you must finish a short or long rest. #### Sacrificial Lamb At 6th level, while Blood Magic is active, you choose one creature you can see within 30ft of you, and can choose to take their life force instead of your own. They must pass a Charisma saving throw equal to your DC (8 + proficiency bonus + Charisma modifier) or take damage. If they pass this check, your spell fails and the slot is wasted. If not hostile, the creature will become hostile. You can only this ability to take spell slots that you would have available. For example: A 12th level caster would be able to use this ability to cast 1 level 6 spell without wasting their level 6 spell slot. If they wanted to use another level 6 spell, they either have to use the spell slot or take damage. ___ You can use this ability a number of times equal to 1 + your Charisma Modifier per long rest. #### Surge At 14th level, when you enter combat your body instantly responds to your battle urges releasing a heavy dose of adrenaline into your system. After rolling your Initiative roll, you gain temporary hit points equal to your blood mage level. Additionally, when you take damage that would normall reduce you to 0hp, you may use your reaction to take half damage and deal the other half to another creature within 60 feet of you. You regain use of this feature after you finish a short or long rest. #### Renewal When you reach 18th level, your magic can heal you for small amounts of health. When you successfully cast a spell while Blood Magic is active, you regain hit points equal to double the spell slot level you expended.

### Spirit Healer The principles of endurance are at the center of any spirit healer‘s magic, often staying in the background you sustain and restore. This can also be used as a touch attack, dealing Radiant damage as would normally be used to heal. In addition, sacrifice a spell slot of 2nd level or higher to end an ongoing condition. If the condition was caused by a spell, then the spell slot sacrificed to heal it must be of equal or greater level. ``` ``` #### Preemptive Shield At 6th level, you gain the ability to protect your allies even before battle starts. As an action, you can give your allies temporary HP equal to your mage level. You can give temporary HP to 4 people, not including yourself. These hit points last until a long rest is taken, and can not be stacked. After you use this ability, you must finish a short or long rest before you can use it again. #### Fade Connection At 14th level, your connection to the Fade grants you resilience. When you or an ally fall below 50% of your maximum health points, you can activate this as a reaction, and it lasts until the end of your turn. While this mode is active, enemies have disadvantage to hit you and your allies and your party has advantage on saving throws against magic. Once you use this, you must finish a short or long rest before you can use it again. #### Mass Rejuvenation Starting at 18th level, you can activate this mode as an action. For one minute, you emanate a healing aura around yourself in a 10 ft cube. Any friendly creatures in that area, at the start of their turn, can roll 1d10, regaining a number of hit points equal to their rolled number + your spellcasting ability modifier. This ability does not apply to yourself. Once you use this, you must finish a short or long rest before you can use it again.

This ability doesn’t grant you any special friendship with beasts, though you can combine this ability with gifts to curry favour with them as you would with any nonplayer character. #### Wildshape When you reach 6th level, you gain the ability to change your form at will. You can use your action to magically assume the shape of a beast that you have seen before. You can use this feature twice. You regain expended uses when you finish a short or long rest. Your mage level determines the beasts you can transform into, as shown in the Beast Shapes table. You automatically revert if you fall unconscious, drop to 0 hit points, or die. ___ While you are transformed, the following rules apply: - Your game statistics are replaced by the statistics of the beast, but you retain your alignment, personality, and Intelligence, Wisdom, and Charisma scores. You also retain all of your skill and saving throw proficiencies, in addition to gaining those of the creature. If the creature has the same proficiency as you and the bonus in its stat block is higher than yours, use the creature's bonus instead of yours. If the creature has any legendary or lair actions, you can't use them. - When you transform, you assume the beast's hit points and Hit Dice. When you revert to your normal form, you return to the number of hit points you had before you transformed. However, if you revert as a result of dropping to 0 hit points, any excess damage carries over to your normal form, For example, if you take 10 damage in animal form and have only 1 hit point left, you revert and take 9 damage. As long as the excess damage doesn't reduce your normal form to 0 hit points, you aren't knocked unconscious. - You can't cast spells, and your ability to speak or take any action that requires hands is limited to the capabilities of your beast form. Transforming doesn't break your concentration on a spell you've already cast, however, or prevent you from taking actions that are part of a spell, such as Call Lightning, that you've already cast. - You retain the benefit of any features from your class, race, or other source and can use them if the new form is physically capable of doing so. However, you can't use any of your special senses, such as darkvision, unless your new form also has that sense. - You choose whether your equipment falls to the ground in your space, merges into your new form, or is worn by it. Worn equipment functions as normal, but the DM decides whether it is practical for the new form to wear a piece of equipment, based on the creature's shape and size. Your equipment doesn't change size or shape to match the new form, and any equipment that the new form can't wear must either fall to the ground or merge with it. Equipment that merges with the form has no effect until you leave the form. #### Fade Shifter At 14th level, your Wildshape is boosted by the power of the Fade. You can now use this feature 3 times. #### Animal Instincts When you reach 18th level, you are one with the animal you embody. While you are in Wildshape, you can use your bonus action to shift back to your normal form for a moment. This transformation only lasts until the end of your turn, and you can only use it once before you must finish a long rest.

You are proficient with this weapon, and when you attack with this weapon, you can use your Charisma modifier, instead of Strength or Dexterity, for the attack and damage rolls. On a hit, the target takes 1d12 force damage. Your Fade Weapon disappears if it is more than 5 feet away from you for 1 minute or more. It also disappears if you use this feature again, if you dismiss the weapon (no action required), or if you die. #### Deflection Starting at 6th level, you have mastered the use of your Fade Weapon to deflect things thrown at you. While your Fade Weapon is active, you can use your reaction to attempt to block ranged weapon attacks. When you do this, roll 1d6 + your Charisma modifer and reduce the damage taken from the attack. #### Combat Clarity At 14th level, you gain the extra attack feature with your Fade Weapon. #### Blade Mastery At 18th level, you are an expert with your Arcane blade and you now have a critical range of 19-20. You can also spend your sorcery points to give your blade extra effects. Choose a damage type and add your charisma modifier as bonus damage to your next attack with your Arcane blade. You must spend 2 sorcery points to activate this effect.

You fought fiercely over food and kept a constant watch out for other desperate souls who might steal from you. You slept on rooftops and in alleyways, exposed to the elements, and endured sickness without the advantage of medicine or a place to recuperate. Additionally, you can forge documents including official papers and personal letters, as long as you have seen an example of the kind of document or the handwriting you are trying to copy. ### Guardsman *City Guards come from all walks of life, whether they be born into it, a retired solider or mercenary, a reformed criminal or perhaps just your average citizen in need of a job. They form the back bone of law and order but also form an effective fighting unit in the event of a siege or bandit raid. Garrisons vary wildly depending on location and culture. Your magical gifts have doomed you to spend your life under constant Templar monitoring and scrutiny, often witnessing their abuse of power. You are skilled at conversation and how to hold yourself. *Somewhere in your past lies the rigid and for some tyrannical culture of the Qun. You are part of the few that is no longer a follower of the religion, whether by choice or because you were born into this life. You’re considered a traitor to the Qun, hunted with the goal to be turned into the re-educators. Some Tal-Vashoth cut off their horns as a symbol of rebellion, but most keep the horns.* ___ - **Skill Proficiencies:** Athletics, Deception - **Languages:** one of your choice - **Equipment:** Vitaar paint, travellers clothes, a trinket to remind you of the Qun or your parents, 3 sovereigns in an old bag #### Feature: Runaway Leaving the life of the Qun behind, you are Tal-Vashoth, and have found yourself hunted at every turn. A lifetime of culture that you no longer belong to, you have a way with words that others don’t. When recalling memories or History of the Qun, you have advantage on checks to do so. #### Variant Feature: Birthright You were born into this life, away from the Qun and never knowing their way or culture. You have been labelled as a traitor from birth, and have spent your entire life learning how to hide yourself or come off without suspicion. When in the presence of a Qunari, you have advantage on checks to keep your true nature hidden. \page

# Feats Whether its flavour or an integral part of your character you want to expand on, feats are the perfect way to do it. Detailed below are a list of Dragon Age feats that you can take for your character, added to the 5e feat list. Some of the feats have prerequisites for them based on class, race, or otherwise. ### Grey Warden *PreReq: Must have done the Joining.* ___ You have undergone the Joining, and were one of the lucky few that survived. As a member of this Order of Warriors, you have been granted abilities because of it. But with this power comes a drastically shortened lifespan. Once you drink blighted blood, you have 30 years to live. - Increase one of your ability scores by 1 (to a maximum of 20) - **Warden's Sense.** You can take 1 minute of Concentration to sense any Darkspawn (or other Wardens) in a 3 mile radius. You can sense the number and location of Darkspawn this way, as well as size. You do not learn their type. If you sense any Darkspawn using this ability, make a Wisdom save. The Darkspawn will get a chance to make a perception check to sense you. Darkspawn can also use this ability and sense you. - You can not be surprised by a Darkspawn attack. - You are immune to the taint. ### Abomination You have become the host of a demon or spirit. This bond has given you innate resistances and powers. - You gain access to 1 additional catrip of your choice. - Once per day, the spirit can attempt to take over your body. If it does, you must roll a Wisdom saving throw against your own spell save DC. On a failed save, your body will be taken over. The DM will control what happens and what the consequences are. At the start of each of your turns, you may make another Wisdom saving throw to regain control. Once you regain control, either by a successful save or after the minute runs out, you will gain one level of exhaustion. - Alternatively, you can choose to willingly allow the spirit to take over your body. All of your attacks add 1d8 damage of a type corresponding to the spirit. This also lasts one minute. If, during this time, you decide to regain control of your body, you can start making Wisdom saves. When this mode runs out or you regain control, you gain two levels of exhaustion. ``` ``` ### Tranquil *PreReq: Must be a Mage.* ___ Whether you failed your Harrowing or were deemed dangerous, you were made Tranquil. Forever branded on your forehead, you have been cut off from the Fade and your previous magical abilities. - You lose your ability to cast spells. - You gain proficiency in two skills of your choice or expertise in one. - You make Intelligence checks with advantage. - You can only be ‘cured’ by being possessed (see Abomination feat above).

Creatures without blood cannot be targeted in this way. The creature must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw. On a failed save, the creature rolls 1d10 and takes necrotic damage equal to the result, and you regain hit points equal to the damage taken + your spellcasting ability modifier. **At Higher Levels:** When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 3rd or higher, the damage increases by 2d10 for each slot above 2nd. #### Summon Demons *3rd-level necromancy* ___ - **Casting Time:** 1 action - **Range:** None - **Components:** V, S, M (a drop of your own Blood) - **Duration:** concentration, up to 1 hour You forcefully pull spirits from the Fade into the Physical World, which appear as demons in unoccupied spaces that you can see within range. They can either appear in their demonic form, or possess corpses. Choose from the following list of what appears: - One demon/undead of challenge rating 2 or lower - Two demons/undead of challenge rating 1 or lower - Four demons/undead of challenge rating 1/2 or lower - Eight demons/undead of challenge rating 1/4 or lower The summoned creatures are friendly to you and your companions. Roll initiative for the summoned creatures as a group, which has its own turns. They obey any verbal commands that you issue to them (no action required by you). If you don’t issue any commands to them, they defend themselves from hostile creatures, but otherwise take no actions. If your concentration is broken, the demons don’t disappear. Instead, you lose control of the demons, they become hostile toward you and your companions, and might attack. Uncontrolled demons can’t be dismissed by you, and they stay on this plane until they are killed, banished or turn back into spirits. #### Blood Wound *4th-level necromancy* ___ - **Casting Time:** 1 action - **Range:** self (15 foot sphere) - **Components:** V,S - **Duration:** concentration, up to 1 minute You begin to make the blood of those around you boil, causing excruciating pain in an aura within a foot 15 radius. Until the spell ends, the aura moves with you, centered on you. When a creature enters the aura for the first time or starts its turn there, the creature must succeed on a Constitution saving throw or take 2d6 nectrotic damage and be incapacitated until the end of its next turn. When the duration ends, you can use a bonus action to recast it without spending a spell slot. #### Mind Blast *2nd-level transmutation* ___ - **Casting Time:** 1 action - **Range:** Sight - **Components:** V,S - **Duration:** 1 minute You summon a wave of telekinetic force, pushing enemies away from you. All enemies must make a Constitution saving throw. On a failed save, th enemy takes 2d8 damage and is pushed 10 feet away. On a successful save, the enemy takes no damage and is pushed 5 feet away. #### Pull of the Abyss *5th-level transmutation* ___ - **Casting Time:** 1 action - **Range:** Self - **Components:** V,S - **Duration:** Instantaneous You choose a point that you can see within 30ft of you and create a gravitational pull in a circle of 15ft. When you cast this spell, you can designate any number of creatures you can see to be unaffected by it. An affected creature's speed is halved while in the area, and when the creature enters the area for the first time or starts its turn in the area, the create must make a Charisma saving throw.
