# The Shadow You have made your pact with a mysterious entity who has mastered the use of the Shadow Realm. Having made this pact you are granted the ability to manipulate the shadows themselves; using them to aid in control, trickery and espionage. ### Expanded Spell List *1st-level Shadow feature* ___ The Shadow lets you choose from an expanded list of spells when you learn a warlock spell. The following spells are added to the warlock spell list for you. ##### Shadow Expanded Spells | Spell Level | Spells | |:----:|:-------------| | 1st |* disguise self, tasha's hideous laughter * | | 2nd | *darkvision, see invisibility* | | 3rd | *blink, nondetection* | | 4th | *greater invisibility, evard's black tentacles (appears as shadowy tendrils)* | | 5th | *dominate person, modify memory,*| ### Tragedy and Comedy *1st-level Shadow feature* ___ As a bonus action, you materialise a mask from the shadows that lasts for 10 minutes. The mask covers your face and is either smiling (Comedy) or frowning (Tragedy), you choose. ___ **Tragedy** - You curse a target you can see within 30 feet. While the target is cursed whenever you hit it with an attack you deal extra necrotic damage equal to your proficiency bonus as shadowy tendrils lash out. While cursed the target must also subtract 1d4 from all attack rolls and saving throws. If the target drops to 0 hit points before this spell ends, you can use a bonus action on a subsequent turn of yours to curse a new creature. ___ **Comedy** - You have advantage on Charisma skill checks against creatures that are not hostile towards you. Any target(s) of spells you cast from the enchantment school make their saves at disadvantage. ___ The masks end early if you drop to 0 hit points, if you are incapacitated or if you end it early as a free action. You can’t use this feature again until you finish a short or long rest.

### Forked Tongue *1st-level Shadow feature* ___ Your patron bewstows upon you the knowledge to mislead with your words, gain proficiency in the deception and persuasion skills. If you are already proficient gain expertise instead. ### Shadow Step *6th-level Shadow feature* ___ Your familiarity with the Shadow Realm lets you transport to it for brief periods. As an action, you can transport yourself to the Shadow Realm for up to 1 minute. While in the Shadow Realm you can see and hear the plane you originated from, which is cast in shades of grey, and you can't perceive anything more than 60 feet away. Creatures in the original plane can't percieve you or interact with you, unless they have the ability to do so. If you attack, cast a spell or perform similar actions targeting any creature on the plane you originated from, you immediately return to that plane. ___ You can use this ability a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and regain all expended uses of this ability on a long rest.

### Reborn in Shadow *10th-level Shadow feature* ___ When you are reduced to 0 hit points you are not knocked unconscious and are instead transformed into a Shadowy Wight for up to 1 minute. ___ While in this form the following applies: - Your creature type becomes undead. - You gain temporary hit points equal to your Charisma modifier + 2 times your warlock level. - You gain resistance to necrotic damage. - You are immune to poison damage and the poisoned condition. - You gain darkvision out to a range of 60 feet. If you already have darkvision its range increases by 30 feet. - You gain the **Life Drain** ability: - As an action you drain the life of a creature you touch. - A creature effected by this ability must make a DC DC 8 + your proficency bonus + your Charisma modifier Constitution saving throw or take 2d6 necrotic damage and have its hit points maximum reduced by the amount necrotic damage taken. - If the target succeeds it takes half damage and no hitpoint reduction. - The damage increases to 3d6 at 14th-level when you gain your Shadow Form feature. - The reduction lasts until the target finishes a long rest. The target dies if this effect reduces its hit point maximum to 0. ___ You leave this form when either you are healed, you drop to 0 temporary hit points or after 1 minute. Upon leaving this form you become unconcious and immediately start make death saving throws. ___ You must then finish a long rest to use your Reborn in Shadow feature again. ``` ``` ### Shadow Form *14th-level Shadow feature* ___ You have learned to harness the power of the Shadow Realm, becoming a beacon of the plane itself. As an action, you can imbue yourself with shadow. This form lasts for 10 minutes or until you dismiss it as a free action. - Using your Shadow Step feature is now a bonus action. - Your Reborn in Shadow feature can be used at will and doesn't require being at 0 hit points. Upon leaving the form return to your original hit point total rather than unconcious unless you transformed due to being reduced to 0 hitpoints. - You have a flying (hover) speed equal to your movement speed. - You pass through solid objects like they were air. - You have Truesight out to a range of 60 feet. - You have advantage on Wisdom (Perception) and Intelligence (Investigation) checks made to discover hidden items, passages and symbols. ___ If you occupy the same spot as a solid object or creature when this feature ends, you are immediately shunted to the nearest unoccupied space that you can occupy and take force damage equal to twice the number of feet you are moved. ___ Once you use this feature you must finish a long rest before you can use it again.
