## Colored Variants Many of the monsters found throughout Hyrule come in a variety of different colors. Though this variation in color appears to be a natural phenomenon, it also seems to correlate with a rudimentary form of social hierarchy among Hyrule's monstrous species. It is unknown if this correlation is inborn or if it is a result of selection among the monstrous tribes. One possibility is that specific colors of these monsters are granted esteem among their respective races, thereby affording them special training. Another theory of Hylian zoologists is that the colors or reflective of natural ability and either innate or magically enhanced skills. Regardless of the source, different colored creatures possess different abilities and hardiness as well as improved skill with weapons. They are much more dangerous than their basic counterparts, and are often found leading tribes of common monsters, with the exception of Lynels and Hinoxes which remain solitary regardless of color. Lynels and Hinoxes only receive half the hitpoint increase of Bokoblins, Lizalfos, and Moblins. Each color also receives the bonus features of the previous colors.

## Bokoblins Bokoblins are small, devious humanoid creatures. They can be found throughout the Hylian wilds and are known to regularly attack travelers. Their entire society seems to be centered around scrounging and stealing in order to survive. Despite their constant and desperate need for food and shelter, Bokoblins also display a despicable lust for treasure. They will endeavour to possess anything that sparkles or shines and they will conspire, cheat, and steal to meet that goal. ***Strength in Numbers.*** Bokoblins mature quickly and can live for several decades, but few make it that long. They are physically diminutive and possess little strength with which to defend themselves, though they are capable of using martial weapons. Their main defense is their numbers. Bokoblins can win battles against powerful opponents by using those numbers to overwhelm them. Nevertheless, they will suffer severe casualitis from any conflict with a dangerous foe. ***Clever Traps.*** While they certainly do not excel in a fight, Bokoblins are notorious builders of traps. This is used to make up for their ineptitude with weapons, and draws on the same creativity that they use to swindle others. Bokoblin builders are often recruited to design and implement the construction of strongholds for other, larger creatures. As they live in the wilds of Hyrule, their traps will often be comprised of falling rocks, or spike pits, as opposed to any sort of magical engineering. ***Mercenary Morals*** While Bokoblins are fairly strong-willed, their avarice for gold and treasure trumps their own cowardly sense of self-preservation. As such, they are a favored foot soldier for those with large sums of coin with which to pay them. ***Bokoblin Riders*** Though bokoblins are generally reviled creatures, and though they are regularly coopted by sinister magic, they are naturally extant creatures. As such, they tend to have a strong bond with the natural world in which they live. Bokoblins routinely ride horses, often in groups of three or four.

## ChuChus

ChuChus are gelatinous lifeforms with limited mobility and even more limited ambitions. They subsist almost entirely on whatever organisms happen to stray into contact with their bodies, and can go upwards of several months without taking in any nourishment at all. They come in a variety of colors, each of which provides its own protection against any creatures that might wish to do them harm. When provoked, they are capable of short hops towards an enemy. Upon death, a ChuChu's bodily plasma begins to lose its cohesion, and can be harvested and refined into a variety of potions which provide temporary resistance to the elements which correspond to the chuchu's color. ***Colonial Lifeform.*** The most perplexing characteristic of chuchus is their ability to merge together into one, larger chuchu. This colonial lifeform appears to simply be one large chuchu, but when attacked, it will subdivide into smaller pieces, each of which appear to be another independent chuchu. ***Elemental Defenses.*** A chuchu's natural color is a bright sky blue, however when exposed to specific environmental conditions, their colors will change and they will develop different characteristics. In hot climates, chuchus will turn red and begin to generate heat themselves, even setting nearby objects aflame. In a tundra, a chuchu will turn a pale white and will emit a field of cold around them. If struck my lightning or present in an area with increased static electricity, a chuchu will turn a yellowish-green and will channel that static into bursts in a small radius around its body. Chuchus also have the ability to cycle through these different elemental defenses when exposed to artificial environmental conditions like the ones listed above. Spaces that a red chuchu leaves remain aflame for 1d6 rounds. Any creature in a space that a red chuchu has lit on fire takes 3 (1d6) fire damage at the start of each of its turns. >***Colonial Lifeform*** A chuchu can use its turn to fuse with another chuchu within 5 feet of it. When two chuchus combine, their hit point total is increased by 7 (2d6) and their hit points are restored to the new maximum. Additionally, the damage dealt by the new chuchu's slam attacks is increased by 3 (1d6). A total of 4 chuchus can combine into one, providing a total of +21 (6d6) hit points to the new chuchu and a total of +10 (3d6) to the new chuchu's slam attack. If a combined chuchu takes more than 4 damage from a single attack, it splits into two chuchus, placed into open adjacent spaces to one another, and the remaining hit points are devided evenly between the two new creatures. ## Calamity Ganon

The history of Hyrule is a long and storied one, but one legend predates even the founding of the great kingdom. This legend is that of the cycle of good and evil, an endless and repetitive struggle between the two primal foraces. Good and evil exist outside of the corporeal world but have moved from the conceptual to the physical on many occasions. The first clash between these two emobodied powers came between the goddess Hylia and the Demon King Demise. Their conflict proved to be a stalemate ultimately, as neither good nor evil can be fully or truly expunged from reality. Following the war between these two entities however, the cycle was created. Throughout the generations, evil has been made manifest under many names, most notably in the form of the Gerudo king Ganondorf. Good has always risen to meet the evil in the form of the hero of legend, named Link. This cycle has continued unabated for eons. One such embodiment saw the evil appearing known as Calamity Ganon. Little is known about this entity or his origins, other than that he was defeated with the help of an army of constructs known as guardians, created by the Sheikah tribe. The guardian army was lead by four massive machines called the divine beasts. Whether a legendary hero was also at the front of this battle is unknown. These events took place approximately 10,000 years ago according to some estimates. This would prove to be an unusually lengthy period of peace for the kingdom and saw the unification of the surrounding non-Hylian tribes under the Hylian banner. The new peaceful coalition included the Zora, the Rito, and even the Gerudo. Nevertheless, the cycle persisted, and the evil rose once again. Fearing the return of the great Calamity, King Rhoam of Hyrule selected a hero chosen by the Master Sword, a young recruit of the royal army named Link. Link was appointed as the personal knight of his daughter, Princess Zelda. King Rhoam decided to create a group of warriors and protectors, the Champions among whom Zelda would be the Commander assisted by her knight, the Hylian Champion. King Rhoam additionally requested each race of Hyrule choose a Champion who would individually pilot one of the Divine Beasts. The final key to defeating Calamity Ganon was the Divine Power of the royal family's bloodline, and the recent death of Hyrule's Queen saw this immense duty fall to her only surviving daughter. As she was now sole bearer of their birthright, the King charged Zelda to focus on mastering her control over the Divine Power to the exclusion of all else, and duly appointed Link as her personal knight and bodyguard to ensure she stayed safe. However, all of this preparation proved to be in vain, as Calamity Ganon was prepared for Hyrule's attempt to repeat history; he sent four wraith-like incarnations of himself, Waterblight, Windblight, Fireblight and Thunderblight Ganon, to corrupt the Divine Beasts and slay their Champions, while using his own dark power to take control of the Guardians and use them against the people of Hyrule. With the heroes' defenses crumbling, and even Link overwhelmed by the renewed assault, Zelda was able to use her Divine Power to seal Calamity Ganon within Hyrule Castle. This catastrophic event was called the Great Calamity. Over the next century, Ganon bode his time within his prison, draining Zelda's divine power in an attempt to gain the strength to break free from the waning seal. His growing power allowed his Malice to spread throughout Hyrule, and following Link's resuscitation he entered a cocoon of Malice to regain physical form. Ganon's reincarnation was still incomplete by the time Link confronted him in the depths of the corrupted castle. After a fierce battle, Calamity Ganon was struck down, disintegrating into eerie smoke; however, he soon reformed as the even more monstrous Dark Beast Ganon. Following his defeat as Dark Beast Ganon, he returned to his spectral Calamity form before being sealed away by Zelda.

Calamity Ganon's true form is unknown. When attacking Hyrule castle he appeared as a massive cloud-like entity, seemingly comprised of ash and flame with a vague beastly head at its center. This boar-shaped specter made of Malice, possessing an enormous mouth, tusks, and glowing yellow eyes. This flying monstrosity enveloped the castle but was held at bay by Princess Zelda's magic. Once Link was resurrected however, Ganon made haste to reconstitute himself in a physical form. This was interrupted by Link's arrival at the castle, causing him to hatch prematurely from his cocoon. In his partially-regenerated form, he is a spider-like abomination resembling the Blights he sent to corrupt the Divine Beasts, being composed primarily of solidified Malice augmented with the Ancient Sheikah technology. His upper body is roughly humanoid, with wild red hair and a skull-like head vaguely reminiscent of Ganondorf's visage. His lower body is a bloated mass of Malice half-plated in armor resembling the body of a Guardian Stalker, complete with two of its four-clawed limbs protruding from the back. ``` ``` Calamity Ganon has several arms all over his body; most are almost emaciated looking, save for a massive right arm that ends in a glowing orange blade similar to Fireblight Ganon's weapon. One of his left arms carries a blue spear similar to Waterblight Ganon, while another ends in a slightly smaller version of Windblight Ganon's beam cannon. He also has three mechanical limbs on his back, each with different energy blades; the left has a shear-like pincer, the middle has a hand with energy claws for digits, and the right has a small sword resembling the one used by Thunderblight Ganon. > ##### The Cycle Begins Anew "The source of the darkness that has appeared time and again throughout Hyrule's history. ## Dark Beast Ganon

After Ganon was defeated by Link, the remaining Malice pulled itself together to form this bestial creature. Its appearance and fiendish magic earned it the name of Dark Beast. This form is considered to be Ganon's original, although in this state, his awareness has been consumed entirely by Malice, and all he knows is a desire to rampage and destroy. When transforming into Dark Beast Ganon, the demon king gave up on trying to reincarnate himself and instead poured all of his strength into a final attempt to lay waste to Hyrule. This does not mean that the cycle was necessarily broken after its defeat. Rather, it would likely continue, with the original evil curse laid by Demise taking on a new form.

On a 6, Dark Beast Ganon is unaffected, and the effect is reflected back at the caster as though it originated from Dark Beast Ganon, turning the caster into the target. > > ***Siege Monster.*** Dark Beast Ganon deals double damage to objects and structures. > > ### Actions > ***Multiattack.*** Dark Beast Ganon can use his Frightful Presence. It then makes four attacks: One earthquake attack, two with its hooves, and one with its energy blast. > > ***Earthquake.*** Dark Beast Ganon rears up on his hind legs and slams into the ground creating a shockwave. All creatures within 60 feeet of Dark Beast Ganon take 24 (4d6 +10) bludgeoning damage and must make a DC 15 Dexterity saving throw or be knocked prone. Buildings within this range take double damage from this attack. > > ***Energy Blast*** Dark Beast Ganon fires a massive blast of energy from his mouth that moves in a straight line across the ground up to a distance of 100 feet. All creatures in that line must make a DC 20 Dexterity saving throw, taking 39 (6d12) lightning damage on a failed save or half as much damage on a successful one. The blast sets the ground within its are ablaze, regardless of what is in that area. Any creature in a space that is on fire takes 11 (3d6) fire damage at the start of each of its turns. The rain from Dark Beast Ganon's Lightning Storm extinguishes these flames after 2 rounds. > > ***Hooves.*** *Melee Weapon Attack:* +17 to hit, reach 15 ft., one target. *Hit:* 28 (4d8 + 10) bludgeoning damage. > > ***Frightful Presence.*** Each creature of Dark Beast Ganon's choice within 300 feet of it and aware of it must succeed on a DC 17 Wisdom saving throw or become frightened for 1 minute. A creature can repeat the saving throw at the ened of each of its turns, with disadvantage if Dark Beast Ganon is within line of sigh, ending the effect on itself on a success. If a creature's saving ghrow is succesful or the effect ends for it, the creature is immune to Dark Beast Ganon's Frightful Presence for the next 24 hours. > > ### Legendary Actions > Dark Beast Ganon can take 3 legendary actions, choosing from the options below. Only one legendary action option can be used at a time and only at the end of another creature's turn. Dark Beast Ganon regains spent legendary actions at the start of his turn. > > **Attack.** Dark Beast Ganon makes one hoove attack or one earthquake attack. > > **Move.** Dark Beast Ganon moves up to half his speed. > > **Energy Blast (Costs 2 Actions).** Dark Beast Ganon makes one energy blast attack. \page

## Ganon Blights In addition to his corruption of the Guardians, Calamity Ganon also incapacitated the Divine Beasts by killing their pilots, the Four Champions. He did this by creating four Blights, powerful embodiments of his own evil energy which infiltrated the Divine Beasts and caught their pilots unaware. These Malice-riddled abberations lingered inside the Divine Beasts for 100 years, preventing the slain pilots from departing this plane fully. ### Fireblight Ganon The Fireblight Ganon is the possessor of Divine Beast Van Rudania, and the one responsible for the demise of the Goron, Daruk. Its weapon of choice is a large sword attached to its arm and uses fire magic to burn its enemies. It can also protect itself within a fiery barrier which cloaks its entire body in magical flames. Fireblight Ganon also produces extreme heat around itself, which continuously hurts any creatures around it.

It uses quick agile movements to strike its enemies at lighting speed with its sickle, and can also summon various electrical metal spikes around it. ### Windblight Ganon The Windblight Ganon is the possessor of Divine Beast Van Medoh, and the one responsible for the demise of the Rito, Revali. It uses a gun attached to its arm to shoot at its enemies, while also creating tornadoes with its other arm. It has smal spikes on its back that can detach and position themselves around the area, reflecting its energy blasts to hit opponents from behind. It can also create small tornadoes that can disorient enemies. Windblight Ganon produces extreme cold around itself, which continuously hurts any creatures around it.

## Gerudo The Gerudo are one of the prominent humanoid races of Hyrule and the surrounding region. Historically, the Gerudo had an antagonistic and often outright violent relationship with the people of Hyrule. After the time of the great Calamity however, the Gerudo took on a more peaceful relationship with the Hylian monarchy. While they maintained their independence from the kingdom of Hyrule just like the Gorons and the Zora, the leaders of the Gerudo tribe developed a productive relationship with the Hylians. The Gerudo have a striking appearence which distinguishes them from Hylians. They have an olive-brown skin tone, golden eyes, and typically have bright red hair. They also tend to have severely pointed noses, sometimes in place of the pointed ears of the Hylians. ***Gerudo Society***. The Gerudo live in an almost entirely female-dominated society. They fill all the same traditional gender roles that might be occupied by men in Hylian society. A single male Gerudo (*voe*) is born every hundred years and serves as King to his people. The infrequency of the male Gerudo's birth implies that they may be somewhat long lived, and have significant resilliency in their biology to allow for repeated breeding with a single male. It is unclear what role the King actually has in the governence of Gerudo society, but they seem to at least have direct control over Gerudo military forces. In ancient times, the Great King Ganondorf once used a Gerudo army in an attempt to conquer Hyrule. This monarchic governing structure seems to have waned over the centuries. At present, the Gerudo have adopted a ruling system based on a succession of queens and princessess. This is in accordance with their sex distribution, but it was also likely established as a response to the historic aggression demonstrated by Gerudo kings of old such as Ganondorf. Due to the unique sex distribution of their population, the Gerudo are typically distrustful and disdainful of men from other races. Nevertheless, Gerudo women have been known to reproduce with foreign *voe*. The Gerudo genetic profile is exceptionally dominant allowing for the perpetuation of their race when interbreeding with Hylians. ``` ```

***Gerudo Architecture.*** The Gerudo have proved themselves as competent architects and masterful builders. Their desert kingdom is constructed of flat, square, stone buildings, emerging from the rockface of the natural desert landscape. Gerudo inventors are also quite advanced, and the Gerudo of Termina have developed complex techincal wonders including motorized ships, and water pumping techonlogies. ***Skilled Warriors.*** The Gerudo practice a unique and graceful form of combat. They are known to use schimitars as well as large, curved glaives. Gerudo warriors will spin and jump throughout combat in an attempt to

confound and frighten their opponents. Their

acrobatic styles are similar to the Garo,

implying that they may be derived from a

common style. They have also been known

to employ similar stealth techniques to the

Sheikah, another of Hyrule's humanoid races.

As the Sheikah also seem to be dominated by

women, it is likely that the two groups had a

common ancestry, however this connection

would have been eons ago.

## Gerudo Champion

Not all of the Gerudo are as evil or as treacherous as Ganondorf. To the contrary, most of the women of the Gerudo tribe are peaceful, if a bit insular and xenophobic. Over the generations, the relationship between the desert tribe and the Hylian royalty fluctuated between periods of bitter aggression, tense indifference, and close kinship. During the time of the Great Calamity, King Rhoam and Princess Zelda called upon the Gerudo to aid them in the impending battle with Calamity Ganon. The Gerudo Champion would be Lady Urbosa, chieftan of the Gerudo. She was a close friend to the Queen of Hyrule, Zelda's mother, prior to the queen's demise, and subsequently befriended the princess, taking on a motherly role for the young girl. When she agreed to become the Gerudo Champion, Urbosa was given command of the Divine Beast Vah Naboris. According to Zelda's Research Notes, she was able to utilize the Divine Beast's power with relative ease. However, Urbosa was killed by Thunderblight Ganon during the Great Calamity. Her spirit was then trapped within the Divine Beast for the next one hundred years. It was only after Hero of the Wild slew the demon inside the machine that her spirit was freed. Urbosa was considered a powerful warrior of impeccable skill, strength, and speed while alive. She wielded the Scimitar of the Seven and the Daybreaker shield. She also had the ability to summon powerful lightning strikes that could cripple hordes of enemies, simply by snapping her fingers.

## Gorons

The Gorons are a large humanoid race found throughout Hyrule's mountainouts and cavernous areas. They subsist almost entirely on a diet of rocks and minerals found in their subterranean environment. Gorons have been known to construct massive underground kingdoms, both inside preexisting cave systems and by way of new construction and tunneling. Modern Gorons however live in the above-ground Goron City situated on the side of Death Mountain volcano. Despite their hulking appearance, Gorons are a peaceful and spiritual race. When provoked however, they will make use of their great stature to engage an enemy. Many travelers judge Gorons on their appearance and assume that they are unintelligent. However, Gorons have demonstrated advanced industrialization techniques that they use to mine and mould their expansive kingdoms. They are presumably silicon-based due to a strict diet of rocks and, possibly as a result, they develop rocky growths on their backs as they age. Their apparent immunity to drowning would also stem from this, as the silicate minerals and rocks are extremely common and contain oxygen. However, their enormous density, leaves them unable to float or swim. All Gorons that are seen are male and are referred to as such. They call each other "brother" and never once has a Goron referred to another as "she" or "her". Also, many young Gorons are found to have a father, but no second parent has ever been mentioned. This has lead to some speculation that Gorons may in fact be grown directly out of rock, perhaps with some magical influence involved. It is interesting to note that this sex exclusivity is the mirror image of the Gerudo. There are other similaritys between the two races, including their respective worship of the goddess Din, stemming from their deep relationship with the land. This has lead some historians to posit that these two races may have indeed been created by the goddesses to represent the two opposing extremes of gender. ***Goron Culture*** Gorons generally have a friendly, brotherly culture. They are rarely seen fighting each other unless for entertainment, like in sumo and boxing match. The only scenario in which they appear less than peaceful is in if threatened, in which the Gorons disallow other races from entering the mountains, because of their pride. In Goron culture, people outside of one's bloodline can apparently be considered family, as they have been known to consider Hylian individuals to be their "brothers" and consider them Gorons. Gorons, disguised as Traveling Merchants, are seldom seen, and they have no apparent societal structure or civilization. They are known to deal in valuable items as well as decorative curios. There is also a small Goron archaeological society which makes use of the Goron's natural predilection for digging and excavation. Their large size also makes them ideal contractors for construction projects around Hyrule. their enemies when rolling quickly.

Some Gorons use this technique to

travel great distances. In fact, racing

while curled up in a ball is a common

and popular form of Goron sport and

entertainment. While curled up, Gorons can propel

themselves into the air and then come

crashing downwards to damage an enemy.

Some Gorons utilize this technique, paired

with an explosive shockwae that eminates

from their bodies upon slamming into the

ground. Only skilled Goron warriors can make

use of this particular ability however.

## Goron Champion According to Zelda's research notes, Daruk initially struggled to control his Divine Beast, but eventually was able to utilize it properly. Unfortunately, he was killed during the Great Calamity. His spirit was then trapped within the corrupt Divine Beast for a century until the Hylian Champion slew the demon inside the machine. Daruk, his spirit now freed, gave the Champion a spell of protection as a token of his thanks. He was succeeded by his descendent Yunobo who, though sharing in his ancestor's physical and warding abilities, was much more timid than Daruk. Daruk was courageous of heart and extremely dedicated to defeating Calamity Ganon. Although usually calm, he would become loud and ferocious during battle. He was a good leader, and he encouraged his fellow champions to steel their resolve and take action upon seeing Ganon for the first time. His incredible martial prowess, paired with his talent for inspiration, mean that he is known as perhaps the greatest Goron general of all time.

## Guardians

Throughout the eons of Hylian history there have been many repititions of the fabled cycle that began with Demise and the Hero of the Sky. In addition to this eternal battle between good and evil, Hyrule and its people have seemed to alternate between eras dominated by high magic and those of technological acchievement. While many of the advancements made during these eras have been lost time, the cycle persists, and accordingly, myths and legends have passed down through the ages. During the cycle of Calamity Ganon, Shiekah craftsmen created the Divine Beasts and an army of robots known as the Guardians to battle Ganon's evil. Together, they were successful in defeating Calamity Ganon, ensuring an era of peace that was purported to have lasted 10,000 years. After this time however, Calamity Ganon returned. Using his powerful magic, he was able to reprogram the Guardians to turn against Hyrule and betray their masters. His new army ravaged the land during what was known as the Great Calamity. The Dark Lord's conquest was abated temporarily by Princess Zelda but not before all of her champions were slain in battle. Zelda locked herself in a magical stalemate with the beast, frozen in time for 100 years until the Hero of the Wild was resurrected and defeated Calamity Ganon once and for all. Nevertheless, the rogue Guardians still scour the Hylian countryside, indiscriminately killing travelers who cross their paths.

### Guardian (Decayed) Very few Guardians remain fully functioning since the time of the Great Calamity. There are a small number which roam the Hylian countryside, and a few others which have been gradually reinvigorated by the creeping magic of Calamity Ganon that has seeped out of his seal at Hyrule castle. But the overwhelming majority of Guardians, which shut down after Calamity Ganon was sealed away, have begun to decay. These husks dot the wilds, rusted, with vines and other flora growing on them. ### Guardian (Turret) The mobile Guardian Stalker and Skywatcher were not the only models of Guardian built by the ancient Sheikah. There is also an immobile defensive Guardian Turret which were erected around Hyrule castle. They are the second most common type of the Guardian. They appear in Shrines and Divine Beasts. It is believed that the Guardian Scouts were actually the forrunners of the Guardian Stalkers, built before the latter were comissioned by the King of Hyrule to battle Calamity Ganon when he first rose to power. This is why they can be found in the Sheikah shrines, and not anywhere else around Hyrule. They are meant to simulate human combat and acted as autonomous guards inside Sheikah shrines. Almost all of the Guardian Scout remain out of Calamity Ganon's control, unlike the rest of the Guardians. This is due to most of them being enclosed within Shrines. Calamity Ganon did, however, take control of the ones within the Divine Beasts. Level 4 Guardian Scouts are fairly competent opponents, even for skilled adventurers. Prior to the creation of the Guardian Stalker, the level 4 Guardian Scout was likely the most advanced construct every created by the Sheikah. It has three arms which allows it to wield three weapons simultaneously, or two weapons and a shield. In addition to the usual eye blast and rotating beam, level 4 Scouts also have the ability to fire a single sustained burst similar to the beam of the Stalker.

## Hinox Hinoxes are massive blinoid creatures. They bear a vague resemblance to the common Bokoblin but have several distinct differences. Besides the obvious difference in size, the Hinox also possesses only a single, central eye, mottled and patchy skin, and only two powerful fingers. In addition to these physical differences, there are also significant behavioral differences between the Hinox and its smaller cousins. While Bokoblins are constantly in motion, scheming, and scrounging, the Hinox is instead lethargic and slothful. In fact, they sleep most of the day, and are only active for brief periods when searching for food. They are equally indisciminate when it comes to diet, and have been known to pluck entire fruit trees from the ground and gnaw on the ends. Their disposition is also generally more passive, in accordance with their otherwise apathetic behavior. They will put up a fierce battle however with any creature they feel has intruded upon their territory. ***The Birth of the Hero.*** When the Golden Goddesses, Din, Farore, and Nayru created the world and the people who would inhabit it, they also created the concepts of Good and Evil. But these were not simply ideas, but rather enduring forces that balanced their creation. Life and death, good and evil, gain and loss are all representations of this dichotomy, engendered in the world along everything else, material and otherwise. Throughout the ages, before recorded history began, these primal forces grew and received manifested, physical embodiments that affected the Goddesses' creation. Though death eventually took the form of Bellum, evil coalesced into the form of the villain Demise. Evil incarnate, Demise rose to power and sought to obtain the Triforce, a powerful artifact created by the Goddesses as their living embodiment in the world. His campaign to obtain the Triforce was thwarted by Hylia, a goddess created by the Golden Goddesses in order to protect the Trifoce. Before defeating Demise however, Hylia gathered the inhabitants of The Surface onto a small piece of land, entrusted them with curation of the Triforce, and lifted them into the sky above a barrier of clouds. She also created the Goddess Sword, and stored it within the statue of her likeness in Skyloft, where it could one day be claimed and turned into what would become the legendary Master Sword. As a final act of insurance that Demise would one day be defeated for good, Hylia also created a chosen hero who would take up her quest to defeat him. This was the first Link. ***The Great Calamity.*** The most recent incarnation of Link is the hero who fought during the Great Calamity. A great many years after the events which lead to the fractured timeline of Hyrule, Ganon rose once more. This time, known as Calamity Ganon, his form had decayed due to the waning power of Demise's curse. Hylian historians say that this may have been nearly 10,000 years after the era of the Hero of Time. It is unknown which timeline the Great Calamity occurred in, however it has been postulated that time may have begun to heal itself after so many years, leading to a convergance of the fractured realities back into one. Regardless, the Cycle repeated itself yet again, this time bringing together warriors from all of the races of Hyrule to try to overcome Ganon. Legends say that Ganon was defeated 10,000 years ago, in part thanks to the use of powerful constructs known as Guardians that were built by the Shiekah. When Calamity Ganon reappeared, an industrious Princess Zelda took it upon herself to live up to her namesake and rally the peoples of Hyrule together to defeat the Evil One. She resurrected the Guardians, and chose a Champion from each of Hyrule's dominant races to fight along side her and defeat Calamity Ganon. ***The Fall of the Hero.*** Though Zelda was successful in rallying an army to fight Calamity Ganon she and her champions were ultimately defeated. This included Revali of the Rito, Daruk of the Gorons, Mipha of the Zora, Urbosa of the Gerudo, and the Hylian champion, Link. Calamity Ganon used his sinister magic to corrupt the Guardians, as well as the large mechanoid constructs piloted by the champions known as the Divine Beasts. Turning their army against them, Calamity Ganon defeated the champions and all seemed lost. ***The Timelocked Gambit.*** Grief-stricken, Zelda used her limited magical abilities to spirit away the broken body of Link and then make an attempt to contain Calamity Ganon. Link was deposited at a holy site on the Great Plateu known as the Shrine of Resurrection so that he might have a chance of healing. Zelda then thrust herself into a time-locked battle with Calamity Ganon, where she would remain, frozen in time for a century. Though Zelda sacrificed herself in this effort, Calamity Ganon was, for the time being, contained.

a force that might combat Calamity

Ganon once he inevitably overcame

the sealing magic Zelda had placed

on him. Traveling all over Hyrule,

Link and his allies were able to

purify the Divine Beasts and free the spirits of his fallen

friends that were trapped within them. Using this power,

along with the restored Master Sword which Zelda also

salvaged after Link's initial defeat, Link was able to regain

his memories and defeat Calamity Ganon, freeing Zelda,

Hyrule, and the world from destruction. \page

## Lizalfos Lizalfos are detestable monsters that infest the Hylian wilds. They are large, vaguely humanoid lizards with bulging eyes and large horns. Though they rarely display signs of intelligence, the armor they wear clearly denotes some level of skill with crafstmanship. Nevertheless, there have never been any known diplomatic interactions Lizalfos and even the Bokoblins. They are amphibious and often patrol beaches, seas, and watery areas, and never sleep. Lizalfos are faster than Bokoblins or Moblins. Lizalfos have a carnivorous diet consisting of meat, fish, and even insects. They are sedentary, covetous, and extremely territorial. They have the ability to blend in with their surroundings, and, like chuchus, seem to have some ability to also take on characteristics of their environment. Though chuchus can adapt quickly to the world around them, Lizalfos appear to be specially adapted to their habitats in a fixed manner. ### Fire Lizalfos Fire Lizalfos are deep red instead of green. They are adapted to the extreme high temperatures surrounding Death Mountain. They have the ability to swim in hot lava as though it were water. Instead of their normal spitting ability, the Fire Lizalfos instead breaths fire at its enemies. ### Ice Lizalfos Ice Lizalfos are a pale blue in color and are adapted to extreme cold temperatures such as those found in the Hebra region of Hyrule. They can burrow through the snow and leap out at unsuspecting travelers. They have an ice breath attack instead of their usual spitting attack. ### Electric Lizalfos Electric Lizalfos are a bright yellow when not camouflaged. They are specially adapted to the arid climate of the Gerudo desert. Their horns emit green sparks of magical electricity and their weapons are similarly charged. When struck with attacks, they have been known to spontaneously discharge this built up electricity. They lack any sort of breath or spitting weapon. ``` ```

They are extremely hearty, keenly observant, and savage in their attacks. They have little affiliation with any organized faction of Hyrule and only a loose allegience even to one another. They are exceedingly rare, which is a boon to adventurers since they are also exceedingly deadly. They resemble large centaurs with a humanoid torso and the lower body of a horse, but are most distinctively characterized by a thick mane of colored hair that surrounds a horned lion-like face. They make use of their natural strength and inherent resistance to both elemental and physical damage. Their hooves are hard as rocks, and their horns sharp as diamonds. They also have a deadly breath weapon that shoots large fireballs. Were it not for these natural weapons, Lynels would still be dangerous opponents, as they also carry a vast array of weapons of their own distinctive design. Lynel swords, bows, crushers, and shields are of exquisite craftsmanship. They are resillient and dregrade slowly as well as dealing substantial damage to enemies when wielded by a creature of sufficient strength, which Lynels of course have in abundance. > ##### "These fearsome monsters have lived in Hyrule since ancient times... > They possess intense intelligence, resilience, and strength, making them amongst the most dangerous monsters in all the land. ## Moblins Moblins are the largest and most fearsome of all the blinoid species. They are cruel and evil and far more aggressive than their smaller relatives. They also display the greatest prowess in combat and are the most difficult to defeat of all the blinoid races. They are distinctly different from their smaller, Bokoblin cousins, most notably due to a single large horn on their heads. They also have longer, protruding snouts, and disproportionate arms that nearly reach the ground. ***Created by Magic.*** While at one time they may have been a distinct and naturally evolved blinoid species, they have been perverted and mutated over time by vile dark magic. This transfiguration also accounts for their extremely aggressive nature and their hatred of nearly all other living things. Moblins have been known to attack and kill other blinoids, even when they are under the command of another, more powerful creature. ***Strength Above All Else.*** Moblins value strength more than any other quality and typically only respect those who display extreme power and skill in combat. Their tribes are ruled by the largest and most fearsome among them. This leader rules absolutely and can only be diposed through a ritualistic challenge by combat. ***Servants of a Dark Master.*** Though Moblins are physically extremely hearty, they are weak willed and can be easily overpowered by powerful sorcerors or dark wizards. They are the preferred warrior race of the Dark King Ganon, who they strongly resemble in their snub-nosed appearance. Armies of Moblins will tear through Hylian cities and towns with brutal efficiency, and rarely meet their match from the likes of average Hylian soldiers. ***Moblin Lairs.*** Hordes of Moblins, leftover from forgotten campaigns of outlaw warlords have been known to establish colonies in varying locations throughout the Hylian wilds. In an apparent attempt to return to their natural roots, many Moblin clans organize themselves in Hyrule's deep woods. Moblins have also been found rampaging through the Hylian country-side however in nomadic fashion, looting and pillaging to survivce.

## Molduga The Molduga is a massive creature that looks like a combination of a whale and a large fish or shark. Despite its appearance however, the Molduga does not live in water. Rather, they reside burried deep beneath the sands of the Gerudo desert. They can move through this medium almost as easily as normal creatures move through the air. They can also move with a surprising swiftness, belied by their hulking stature, along the surface of the sand. They are carefully attuned to the shifting sands in which they live and will react quickly and violently when they perceive any creature to be walking above their heads. They have sharp teeth and powerful jaws. Though they primarily subsit on wild Gerudo sand seals, they will attempt to consumer virtually any creature which does not tread lightly through the Gerudo wasteland.

## Pebblet Pebblets are small creatures made of stone. They are smaller versions of the Taluses which can be found throughout Hyrule and display many of the same qualities as their larger cousins. Hylian scholars are uncertain as to whether or not the Pebblet is a discreet species of rock-based life form or if they are simply immature Taluses. Though they can be found in similar locations as the Taluses and they display similar elemental powers, their behavior is somewhat different. While a Talus is content to stay hidden unless disturbed, Pebblets will emerge and attack creatures that stary too close to them with little provocation. The Frost Pebblet doesn't just live in cold areas, it also generates a localized sphere of cold around it. ### Igneo Pebblet The last variety of Pebblet is the Igneo Pebblet. These creatures emit a scalding field of heated are around them. They live in lava, but also appear to be (at least in part) made of it. They are also shown to have wings naturally which are depicted a being prehensile and hand-like allowing them to grab and hold things. Most Rito resemble falcons and eagles, while the Elder Kaneli resembles an owl, though it is unknown if this is simply a variation or the result of old age. Yet Kass is shown to be parrot-like, indicating it is more likely just variation in appearance, much like the Zora who are known to have variations in appearance between members. Fledglings are shown to have wings and implied to be capable of flying at a young age. It is also implied that the Rito race as a whole can fly naturally, as their is no indication that they require the aid of a deity or dragon such as Dinraal (who is known to fly through the Tabantha region near Rito Village) to do so. Due to flying at high altitudes and living near the cold Hebra Mountains, the Rito have apparently developed insulating feathers that allow them to endure cold temperatures they would encounter while flying at high altitudes and living near cold regions. Rito feathers occasionally molt which Rito artisans use to make Snowquill Tunics and Snowquill Trousers. Rito feathers are also used to make Rito-down Beds which are said to be even softer than soft stable beds, though this may simply be a marketing tactic. the Rito primarily wield light-weight weapons, bows such as the Swallow Bow or Falcon Bow, and shields designed to be used in both ground and aerial combat. They are also known to have crafted Feathered Edges, Feathered Spears and Kite Shields. Revali originally wielded the Great Eagle Bow. The famed tailor Huck uses the softest and thickest baby Rito feathers to craft the Snowquill Headdress, Tunic and Trousers which grants cold resistance and are sold at the Brazen Beak to tourists and travelers. They originate from Rito Village in the Tabantha Frontier region of the Hebra province of Hyrule. The village is headed by the Elder Kaneli. Revali, the Rito Champion was a skilled aerial fighter. One hundred years ago, this warrior was selected by King Rhoam Bosphoramus Hyrule to pilot the Divine Beast Vah Medoh as a member of the Champions. Rito males are urged from birth to emulate Revali.

## Rito Champion Revali was a resident of the Rito Village in Western Hyrule during the time of the Great Calamity. Although naturally gifted at flying and using a bow, he pushed himself to great extremes to try and better himself throughout his life, often injuring himself in the process. Revali presented a confident exterior to the world, however, it was said that he kept his true emotions hidden, and was actually insecure about his abilities. When King Rhoam and Princess Zelda came searching for aid from the Rito people, Revali agreed to help and was chosen to become the Rito Champion, a protector of Hyrule and the pilot of the Divine Beast Vah Medoh. According to Zelda's Research Notes, he was able to wield his Divine Beast with relative ease. However, despite this honor, Revali was frustrated; he had wanted to be the main hero like the Hero of the Wild, not a supporting fighter. Regardless, Revali quickly became an integral part of the team of Champions. Revali was killed by Windblight Ganon during the Great Calamity. His spirit was then trapped within the corrupt Divine Beast, only being freed a century later when the Hero of the Wild slew the demon inside the machine. ## Stalkind Stalkind are skeletal versions of common Hylian monsters. Typically, stalkind are animated by the sinister, dark magic of powerful sorcerors. Accordingly, they are common foot soldiers of evil creatures. Despite Calamity Ganon's apparent stalemate with Princess Zelda, the malice with which he infected Hyrule has continued to animate the remains of dead monsters throughtout the land. ***Spontaneous Generation*** Stalkind can emerge from any soft ground, even in environments such as the Gerudo desert, the Hebra wastes, and the peaks of Death Mountain. Their bones appear to assemble themselves beneath the ground, perhaps traveling a great distance after being infected with Malice. Once a complete assemblage of bones has come together, the stalkind will spring out of the ground whenever it detects any innocent or vulnerable creature above the ground. After slaying their initial prey, they will patrol the area, searching for more victims. Stalkind only appear at night however, and they will disassemble and bury themselves in the ground again once the sun rises. ***Group Tactics.*** Stalkind almost exclusively attack in groups of three. Their relatively feeble vissage affords them little defense against wary travelers who might fight them. Accordingly, they will only attack when they sense that numbers may give them the advantage. The only exception to this is the Stalnox, which bizarrely appears to remain just as solitary as their living counterparts. ***Regenerative Magic.*** The magic that serves to initially revitalize the stalkind will also allow them to regenerate even after defeat in battle. This is one of the reasons they always attack in small groups. If a Stalkind is defeated in battle, its opponent must take care to quickly dispatch its compatriots as well. As long as a single Stalkind of the original trio remains, the other two will be reanimated after a short time. Even for the most experienced warriors, this power makes Stalkind dangerous opponents. The only other way to prevent a Stalkind from reassmbling is to destroy its head, which will remain "alive" and dangerous, even after the body has been destroyed. Stalkind variants of common monsters only ever appear based on the most common form of the monster. Additionally, if the creature has a Constitution score above 10, it is lowered to 10 with a bonus of +0. If the creature's Constitution score is already below 10, it remains unchanged. Lastly, Stalkind variants of creatures have substantiall fewer hit points than their living counterparts. Stalkoblins, Stalizalfos, and Stalmoblins all have 5 (2d6 - 2) hit points. A Stalnox has 26 (4d12) hit points. A Stalkind variant's CR does not change from that of the original creature. A Stalkind's creature type is *undead*. Stalkinds have the same attacks and weapons as their living counterparts. ## Talus

The Talus is a terrifying creature that can be found rarely across the realm of Hyrule. They typically reside in clearings in the deep Hylian woods or at the peaks of large hills or small mountains. They bare a vague resemblance to a humanoid creature, but their hulking bodies are entirely made of living stone. They are generally docile creatures, and will rarely attack unprovoked, however they have a notoriously cranky disposition and consider nearly any form of physical contact to be provocation. This often happens unintentionally, as they spend most of their time embedded in the ground, appearing to most travelers to be simple boulders. Once disturbed, they will attack unceasingly and indiscriminately, although they will quickly lose interest in creatures which flee and hide. They attack by slamming their large fists into their enemies. They can even detach their fists and launch them through the air, quickly plucking a new stone off the ground and incorporating it into its body if there is one available. Some zoologists believe the Talus to be the mature form of the Pebblit, but this has yet to be confirmed.

### Igneo Talus The Igneo Talus is a variety of Talus which resides exclusively in the lava fields of Death Mountain. This Talus is potentially the most dangerous, not only due to the extreme heat that radiates from its body, but also simply due to its environment. Adventurers who encounter an Igneo Talus must be just as wary of the lava fields in which they live as the beast itself. ## Wizzrobe

The Wizzrobe is one of Hyrule's most fascinating and most enigmatic creatures. They bear a vague resemblance to Hylian Wizards, but are clearly distinct creatures. They are essentially humanoid but with gaunt emaciated features. Under their strangely raised hoods they have sinister grinning faces and glowing red eyes. They hover about 5 feet off the ground and can teleport at will, making them difficult to track during a battle. The Wizzrobe has the ability to cast elemental magical spells. Their robe-like garb corresponds to the element to which they have an affinity. Red Wizzrobes cast fire spells, blue Wizzrobes cast frost spells, and yellow Wizzrobes cast lightning spells. ``` ```

## Yiga After having proved to be key in sealing Calamity Ganon 10,000 years ago, ancient Sheikah technology was at first praised as the power of the gods. However, the people of Hyrule began to fear their technology as a threat to the kingdom. As a result, the Sheikah became outcasts and lived in exile. Although most Sheikah chose to cast off their technology and live simple lives, others fostered hatred towards the kingdom of Hyrule for shunning the Sheikah despite all they had done for it, leading them to swear allegiance to Ganon. This resulted in the creation of the Yiga Clan, who dedicate themselves to eliminating all who stand against Ganon. The Yiga adopted the upside-down sigil of the Sheikah, representing their resentment of the clan, as their own symbol and setup their base of operations within Karusa Valley in the Gerudo Desert. From there, the Yiga Clan would attack and strike down anyone who even thought negatively of them or Calamity Ganon, specifically targeting members of the Sheikah, the Hyrulean Army, and the Royal Family. The clan gained a notorious reputation for cruelty, with some even regarding the organization as "pure evil", and used underhanded tactics to gain information, recruit, or simply murder in cold blood. Others however saw the organization as lost souls who were being manipulated by Calamity Ganon, who simply saw them as useful pawns to further his own goals of destroying Hyrule and the world beyond. The Yiga Clan were active 100 years ago shortly before the events of the Great Calamity. At one point, the Yiga Clan attempted to assassinate Princess Zelda before she could awaken her sealing powers which were a great threat to Calamity Ganon's return. However Zelda's appointed knight, the Hylian Champion Link heroically defended her from the Yiga Clan blades. At the same time, the Yiga were plotting to resurrect Ganon and were making plans to steal the Thunder Helm from Gerudo Town. The organization may have therefore played a key role in Ganon's return to Hyrule. While Ganon continued to build up his power, more and more monsters emerged throughout the land, odd disasters took place, and the Yiga escalated their own activities, targeting Princess Zelda and the Champions in order to prevent their roles in fighting their master from coming to fruition. Calamity Ganon managed to turn the tables on the Champions and their allies when he corrupted the four Divine Beasts with his blights which killed their champion pilots. Link was ultimately injured defending Zelda from Guardians at Fort Hateno, causing Zelda's powers to fully awaken. Even with Link incapacitated, the Yiga failed to kill Zelda who used her power to seal herself and Calamity Ganon in Hyrule Castle. The Yiga Clan's activities during the Age of Burning Fields is unknown but it is believed that they continued to hunt down the enemies of Ganon such as surviving Knights of Hyrule and Hyrulean Soldiers. However they were unable to eliminate Zelda and Link's Sheikah allies Robbie, Purah, and Impa who split up in order to survive long enough to aid Link. Impa remained in Kakariko Village to lead the Sheikah still loyal to the Royal Family and Sheikah who came to reject the evil ways of the Yiga Clan, while Purah and Robbie left to establish the Hateno Ancient Tech Lab and Akkala Ancient Tech Lab respectively with all three of them avoiding being killed by the Yiga for 100 years. To this day, the Yiga remain a dangerous force throughout Hyrule. They roam the countryside, attacking unwary travelers and agents of good alike. When Link was resurrected they began a campaign to annihilate him once and for all, employing all of their stealth and disguise tactics in this endeavor. Throughout the Hero's journey, he was consistently plagued by Yiga assassins who disguised themselves as travelers or even as hapless victims of monster attacks. > ##### "We of the Sheikah tribe have long been heralded as a people of great wisdom... > Our technology became the key to sealing Ganon away during the Great Calamity, some ten thousand years ago. ## Kohga

Kohga is the founder of the Yiga Clan, a group of Sheikah rebels devoted to Calamity Canon. Though the Yiga are not the same splinter group as the legendary Sheikah oathbreakers. While the oathbreakers raised a makeshift army and stood in rebellion of the throne, the Yiga are more of a ragtag band of gangsters who proliferated through Hyrule during the hundred years between the fall of the Hero of the Wild and his resurrection. During this time, many Hylians, in perceived abandonment by their royal family and institutions, turned to fanaticism. They sought solace and comfort in the cultlike order of the Yiga. ***A Firey Ninja.*** Despite the seemingly earnest and dutiful actions of the Yiga clan's footsoldiers, Kohga is informal, boisterous, and quick to lose his temper. He is very confident in his physical abilities, describing himself as "strong" and "burly". He seems to be a charismatic leader, as members of his clan will attempt to avenge him after any defeat. Though he is a master of the esoteric arts of ninjutsu, Kohga himself is actually quite lazy and slothful as he spends most of his time napping and loafing about, leaving hunting of Ganon's enemies to his loyal subordinates. This diminishes the potential threat he and the Yiga Clan could pose were he a more active leader. He routinely fails to take full advantage of having a dedicated and capable army at his disposal to eliminate the Yiga Clan's enemies. ***Magical Attacks.*** Though Kohga may have once been an imposing physical opponent, he prefers to use magical abilities in combat. These include teleportation, levitation, the creation of magical wards, and the conjuration of large boulders that he hurls at his opponents. > ##### "I need to bust out my serious moves... > A secret technique taught by my father's mother's father! ## Zora

The Zora are one of the ancient humanoid races of Hyrule. They are an aquatic species with green, red, or deep blue skin, and webbed hands and feet. They have fins on their arms and hips, and large tail-like appendages on the backs of their heads. Their bodies are mostly smooth (with some fish-like scales on their joints) to allow for excellent hydrodynamic movement. They have their own kingdom, the Zora's Domain, which is ruled by the King Dorephan. Zora's Domain is said to have been founded by the Zora at least ten thousand years ago according to the Zora Stone Monument. In the past, Zora's Domain was plagued by occasional flooding which caused damage to both Zora's Domain and areas downriver from it, forcing the unnamed King Zora of that period to seek the aid of the King of Hyrule, and together they decided to construct the East Reservoir Lake to prevent further flooding and the Zora promised to watch the Reservoir's water level, a promise kept by each subsequent King Zora for over 10,000 years. As a result, the East Reservoir Lake came to signify the Zora's bond with the Hylians and Kingdom of Hyrule. At some point, the Sheikah gave the Zora the Divine Beast Vah Ruta which was piloted by an unnamed Zora Champion during the battle against Calamity Ganon that lead to his defeat 10,000 years prior to the events of Breath of the Wild. Additionally, despite existing ancient times even before Vah Ruta or the Great Calamity, the legend of the Sage Princess Ruto is remembered by the Zora and the Divine Beast Vah Ruta is revealed to have been named "Ruta" in her honor. In another Zora Stone Monument, tells the tale of another unnamed King Zora who was forced to lead an army of Zora Knights against a group of monsters lead by a Lizalfos general. Knowing her husband's lack of skill at the art of war, his queen secretly sewn one of her white scales (scales unique to female Zora) into his armor, hoping her love would protect him. When the King and his army engaged the Lizalfos General and its army, the King was almost killed by the Lizalfos General, though fortunately just as the Lizalfos was about to deliver a deathblow to the King, an errant sunbeam hit the scale sewn into his armor, blinding the general, giving the King the opportunity to rally his army and defeat the general, resulting in a great victory for the Zora. This event became known historically as the "Miracle of the White Scale" and lead to the traditional custom of Zora Princesses crafting Zora Armor for their future husbands. Before the Great Calamity, their royal family was comprised of the King, his daughter the Zora Champion Princess Mipha, and his youngest child, Prince Sidon. It is implied by a worn Zora Stone Monument that as a Knight of Hyrule, Link came to the aid of Zora's Domain when it was attacked by a Lynel from Ploymus Mountain and managed to drive off the beast, somehow obtaining the Zora Helm in the process which was later enshrined at Toto Lake in honor of Link's heroism. Mipha was famous for her innate healing ability Mipha's Grace and the skill with which she wielded the Lightscale Trident which was created for Mipha by the blacksmith Dento. After the Royal Family of Hyrule learned of a prophecy foretelling the imminent return of Calamity Ganon, Princess Mipha was selected by Princess Zelda and Rhoam Bosphoramus Hyrule to be the Zora Champion who would pilot Vah Ruta which Mipha had bonded with, causing King Dorephan to note the similarities between Princess Ruto and his daughter, which caused him to believe her selection was the work of fate. Like the Knights of Hyrule, the Zora have their own knights who defend Zora's Domain. Zora tend to favor spears and tridents over swords and shields, though Zora made swords and Zora made Silver Shield also exist. Zora weaponry is generally very ornate and artistic though are forged of very durable and rust-proof metal. The Silver Bow is favored by the Zora for bowfishing, though doesn't have a lot of firepower, as it is made of special metal that prioritizes its durability. The Zora Spear is the standard issue Zora spear, while only the most skilled Zora fighters wield the stronger Silverscale Spear which features a unique beautiful fish-tail design which belies its impressive strength, as the spearhead can pierce even the toughest of scales. Ironically all Zora weapons, bow, and shield are metallic and attract lightning during thunderstorms, which is odd considering how dangerous electricity is to Zora and their tendency to sink in water, though presumably their lack of buoyancy is so they can be used in underwater combat and their sinking would not be an issue for the Zora due to their ability to breath underwater as well as their natural talent for swimming and diving. Zora can live in both freshwater and salt water environments. \page

## Zora Champion

***A Gentle Princess.*** Mipha is the princess of the Zora people, the daughter of King Dorephan, and the older sister of Prince Sidon. She possessed unique abilities to heal others, a skill not shared by others of her race. She was also a childhood friend of the Hylian knight, Link. These abilities and associations lead to her being chosen by King Rhoam and Princess Zelda to be the Zora champion in the quest to defeat Calamity Ganon. Mipha was a deeply empathic Zora and felt strongly for all of her allied champions, but she had a special affection for Link. She even went so far as to craft a suit of Zora armor for him, a traditional ritual of marriage proposal among the Zora. ***The Divine Beast Vah Ruta.*** According to Zelda's research notes, she had the easiest time out of the four Champions wielding her Divine Beast, a fact which shocked Zelda due to Mipha's seeming fragility. Regardless of this natural control over the Divine Beast Vah Ruta, Mipha fell in battle when the Beast was corrupted by Waterblight Ganon during the Great Calamity. Mipha's spirit was trapped inside the Beast until the resurrected Link was able to slay the demon. ***Mipha's Grace.*** Once freed from the Divine Beast, Mipha went on to help the Hero of the Wild in his quest to defeat Calamity Ganon. Her spirit granted him the ability of Mipha's grace, providing him with a limited version of the healing power she possessed in life. While Mipha had the ability to heal others, however, Link's gift from her would only restore his health were he to fall in battle.
