The particular curve of a backrest, or the twist of a leg, the angle of a seat or the color of the entire artifact all reflect the stylistic consciousness of each era.* ___ -- Charlotte Fiell, *1000 Chairs* ___ ### Awakened Furniture Chairs are arguably the most bland pieces of furniture of all time. These chairs however, have abandoned their bland, boring state in favor of a glamorous and exiting life as an adventurer. Honoring the God who gave them their sentience, they roam the land in search of honor and adventure. You can always count on a chair to have your back, for they are as loyal as they are comfortable. ___ ### Chair Names Most chairs are named based on their attributes, whether they are short, sturdy, wooden or metal. These are some common chair names: ___ **Names:** Wd'en, M'tal, Aarm, O'fice, Robert the Unforgiving, Rh'oling, Skeul, Pul'hastic, C'houch, Fold'ing, Dave. ___ ### Chair Traits As a chair, you have some inborn traits: ***Ability Score Increase.*** Since you have been raised to a higher state of mind, you Wisdom score increases by 2. ***Age.*** Chairs never die by age, but get worn out after about 20 years. ***Alignment.*** Most chairs gain the alignment of the creator, though they tend to be chaotic by nature. ***Size.*** Chairs vary in size and weight. ***Speed.*** A chair can't walk on its own, but it can cast *Levitate* instead of taking movement during a round on itself at will. ***Languages.*** All chairs communicate telepathically, but can speak Common. They do not have a mouth, but simply speak with a disembodied voice. ***Magic Hand.*** As a bonus action, a chair can cast *Mage Hand*. The hand created functions as any other creature's hands. The chair can have up to two active hands at a time. ***Subraces.*** There are three main subraces of chairs: B'hench, R'chliner and Light. Choose one of these. ***Chair Weapon Training.*** You gain proficiency with clubs and morningstars. ***Natural Armor.*** While you are not wearing any armor, your armor class is 14 + your Constitution modifier. ___ #### Light Chair These chairs are the most common and populate buildings across the continents. They are generally lighter and shorter than their B'hench counterparts, sacrificing sturdiness for movement. ***Ability Score Increase.*** Your Dexterity score increases by 1. ***Blending In.*** If you are in a tavern, and inn, or any other building populated by chairs, you gain +7 to all Stealth rolls. ___
#### B'hench These chairs, although similar to their lighter counterparts, are much more sturdy. They can handle much more wear and tear. ***Ability Score Increase.*** Your Constitution score increases by 1. ***Sturdy.*** Whenever you gain hitpoints, you gain additional hitpoints equal to your level. ___ #### R'chliner Comfortable, versitile, and luxury. These chairs are not common in the wild, and when they are found, they are usually found in the presence of nobles. ***Ability Score Increase.*** Your Charisma score increases by 1. ***Naturally Comfortable.*** If you make a Stealth check and someone sits on you, they have to make a Wisdom saving throw (DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Charisma score). On a fail, they fall asleep.
