Plant-based humanoids, Florans are extremely violent carnivores with no central government or power structure, split into numerous tribes spread across the world, each led by a Greenfinger. They are creatures of leafy greens and vibrant petals, often having lean, muscular(?) builds. From their heads sprout leaves, vines or sometimes petals resembling hair. Their skin is made of a plant-like carapace that is usually green or some varying shade of it, but it, including their leafage or petals found atop their heads and body can be almost any color on the visual spectrum, perhaps even beyond. ## Biology and Barbarity Though they are biologically a single-sex race, Florans may adapt sexually dimorphic physical traits and male/female identities if they so choose. Their speech is often simplistic, and they tend to hiss their sibilantsss. Their primary drives are hunting, acquiring trophies, fighting, eating meat, and more hunting. It is speculated that their general casual view towards killing and consuming other intelligent species stems from not viewing "meat" as "alive" in the same sense they are. However, as the Floran spread throughout the world, more and more individuals are recognizing a need to integrate, make friends, and maybe not stab anyone that slightly inconveniences them. ``` ```

## Tribal Hunters Being a relatively young race, Florans have primitive technology but are incredibly adept at scavenging and hunting. In their natural territory, florans hunt among the lush treetops, lying in wait wwithin the canopy as they track and stalk prey. The hunt is part ritualistic, part frenzy, and completely best left avoided. They live in a tribal society, their history conveyed by word-of-mouth and tradition. To outsiders, Floran society is usually looked upon as inferior or primitive, which is a mentality that often makes the other races treat Florans as barbarians regardless of their level of education. ## Untapped Ingenuity Florans seem to have a knack for figuring out how to use technology with relatively little knowledge of how it might actually work. Most tools, crafting and building methods that tribal Florans use are either scavenged or pillaged from more civilized societies, leading them to rarely care about inventing their own technology. Though uncommon, it is not unheard of for a tribal-born Floran to have a less boorish mindset either by sheer intuition or through education from a parent who has such a mindset. There are many cases where these "civilized" Florans have successfully integrated into society, though some tribally raised Florans have trouble adjusting.

## Floran Names Being plant-like in nature, Florans reproduce asexually, but due to living among other races have begun to identify with a particular gender that their specific traits may resemble. Despite this, there is no distinction between masculine and female names, all Floran names typicallly draw root from names of plants. **Names:** Hazelbark, Firtooth, Peachstand, Snowlarch, Elmherb, Larchbrow, Oaklimb, Maplesnarl, Sharproot, Hazelthorn, Vinewood, Ashell. ### FLoran Traits Florans are strong and swift. Though they appear to lack intelligence, they only lack education. **Ability Score Increase.** Your dexterity score increases by 2, and your strength score by 1. **Age.** Like many plants do, florans will continue to thrive as long as they are supplied with the needed nutrients and unnexposed to disease and harm. However, the common strains and lethal nature of tribal floran society mean that they usually only live to about 20 years of age. A floran sproutling reaches maturity within 2 years of conception, learning to hunt with its tribe only days after its birth. **Alignment.** Most florans tend towards chaotic and neutral alignments. Their society is full of "sssstabbing," but they do not kill out of malice. It is to survive, and they often don't know any better as their culture calls for killing. The more well mannered among them who seek out civilization to dignify themselves often tend towards lawful alignments, or by the very least tread on the path of neutrality. **Size.** Florans vary in height and weight as much as humans do, though being an agressive, war raging race they are often all somewhat muscular or lean. Your size is Medium. **Speed.** Your base walking speed is 30 feet. **Carnivorous** Only meat sates a floran's hunger. The daily one pound of food required for your character must come from meat, eating anything else will not contribute to your required daily sustinence. **Plant Kin.** Made of organic plant matter, your creature type is both plant and humanoid. **Floran Training** Choose two skills from the following list to be proficient in: *Survival,* *Nature,* *Athletics,* *Acrobatics,* or *Stealth.* **Ambush Hunter.** You are proficienct with Spears, Longbows, and Blowguns. You also have advantage on Dexterity (Stealth) rolls made when hiding within vegitation. **Thrill of the Hunt.** If you can see or hear a creature that is below their maximum hit points, you can use your bonus action to mark that target for a number of hours equal to your proficiency bonus. For the duration, you have advantage on checks made to track or locate the target. Additionally, if you are within 30 feet of your marked creature, you can grant an ally advantage on their melee attack roll against it using your reaction. You can only give advantage this way per *Thrill of the Hunt* an amount of times equal to your proficiency bonus. *Thrill of the Hunt* can be used only once, and you regain use of it when you complete a long rest. **Languages.** You can speak, read, and write Common. A floran's peculiar biology makes speaking Common difficult but not impossible for them, their speech often filled with over pronounced words and a heavy grass whistle-like lisp.
