#### Equipment As a **1st-level** character, you start with the following equipment, or you can forgo it and spend 100 GP on equipment of your choice. ___ - Dagger, Entertainer’s Pack, Leather Armour, Musical Instrument (one of your choice), Shortsword, 18 GP \page

#### Magical Performance The Bard is a performer of grand proportions, and in weaving magic through their performances their audience is not only entertained, but enchanted. Beginning at **1st level,** you automatically have certain echantment spells prepared. The table below indicates what spells you learn and at what level in this class you gain them. | Bard Level | Spells | |:---:|:-----------------------------:| | 1st | Vicious Mockery, Charm Person | | 3rd | Suggestion | | 5th | Tongues | | 7th | Compulsion | | 9th | Geas | #### Spellcasting ___ You have learned to untangle and reshape the fabric of reality in harmony with your wishes and music. Your spells are part of your vast repertoire, magic that you can tune to different situations. ___ - **Cantrips.** You know a number of cantrips equal to your Bard Bonus from the Bard spell list. - **Spell Slots.** The Bard table shows how many spell slots you have to cast your spells of 1st level and higher. To cast one of these spells, you must expend a slot of the spell's level or higher. You regain all expended spell slots when you finish a long rest. - **Preparing of 1st Level and Higher.** You can prepare a number of Bard spells as shown for your level in the Spells Prepared spells. The spells prepared must be of a level equal to or lower than half your Bard level (rounded up). If another Bard feature gives spells that you always have prepared, those spells don’t count against the number of spells on the list you prepare with this Spellcasting feature, but those spells otherwise follow the rules in this feature. - **Changing Your Prepared Spells.** Whenever you finish a long rest, you can replace a number of spells from your Bard spell list equal to your Bard Bonus on your list with an equal number of spells for which you have spell slots and that is on your Bard spell list. - **Spellcasting Ability.** Charisma is your spellcasting ability for your bard spells. Your magic comes from the heart and soul you pour into the performance of your music or oration. You use your Charisma whenever a spell refers to your spellcasting ability. In addition, you use your Charisma modifier when setting the saving throw DC for a bard spell you cast and when making an attack roll with one. - **Spellcasting Focus.** Bards have the most versatile range of spellcasting foci available to them. You may use an Arcane Focus, a Component Pouch, a Tool or Instrument with which you are proficient, or a Gaming Set with which you are proficient. When using an arcane focus, consider how the form of your arcane focus might map well onto a tool you use for your chosen art form - a wand could just as well be a quill or have an attached ribbon, and Orb may be a crystal ball used for by a fortune teller, or a staff may be a dancing cane.

#### Bardic Inspiration You can supernaturally inspire others through your artistic expressions. This inspiration is represented by your Bardic die, which is a d6. You can use your Bardic die in the following ways: ___ - **Boost a d20 Roll.** As a bonus action, you speak words of inspiration to another creature within 60 feet of you. That creature gains a Bardic Inspiration die from you. Once in the following hour when the creature fails a d20 roll, they can choose to roll your Bardic Die and adds the number rolled to the d20, potentially turning the failure into a success. A creature can have only one Bardic Inspiration die at a time, and loses it early if they gain the benefits of a short or long rest. - **Heal.** As a bonus action, you can heal another creature within 60 feet of you that you can see or hear. Roll your Bardic Inspiration die and restore a number of Hit Points to the creature equal to the number rolled. - **Number of Uses.** A Bardic Die is expended when it’s rolled. You can confer a Bardic Inspiration die a number of times equal as shown for your Bard level in the Bardic Inspiration column of the Bard Class Table, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a Long Rest. Your Bardic Inspiration die changes when you reach certain levels in this Class, matching the Bardic Die shown for your level in the Bard table. You can use this feature a total number of times equal to 1 + your Bard Bonus. You regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest. #### Jack of All Trades Starting at **2nd level**, you can add half your proficiency bonus, rounded down, to any ability check you make that doesn't already include your proficiency bonus. #### Song of Rest Beginning at **2nd level**, you can use soothing music or oration to help revitalize your wounded allies during a short rest. roll your Bardic Die. If you or any friendly creatures who can hear or see your performance spend one or more Hit Dice to regain hit points at the end of the short rest, they regain additonal hit points equal to the number rolled. If that amount would take them over their hit point maximum, the hit points in excess of their maximum can be gained as temporary hit points, which last until expended or until the end of their next long rest. #### Bardic Art At **3rd level**, you delve into the advanced techniques of an art form of your choice: Creation, Dance, Eloquence, Glamour, Lore, Mimicry, Satire, Spirits, Swords, Valor, Visual Arts, or Dissonance. Your choice grants you features at **3rd level** and again at **6th, 10th** and **14th level**. \page

#### Expertise At **3rd level**, You gain Expertise in one of your Skill Proficiencies of your choice. At **9th level**, you can choose another two of your skill proficiencies to become Expertise. #### Feat When you reach **4th level**, and again at **8th, 12th, 16th,** and **19th level**, you gain the Ability Score Improvement feat or any other feat of your choice. #### Font of Inspiration Beginning when you reach **5th level**, you regain all of your expended uses of Bardic Inspiration when you finish a short or long rest. In addition, if you have no uses of Bardic Inspiration left, you can give yourself one use by expending a spell slot (no action required). You can do so only once per turn. #### Countercharm At **7th level**, you can use musical notes or words of power to disrupt mind-influencing effects. If you or a creature within 30 feet of you fails a saving throw against an effect that applies the Charmed or Frightened condition, you can use your Reaction to cause the save to be rerolled, and the new roll has Advantage. #### Unfailing Inspiration At **9th level**, your Bardic Inspiration only inspirees success. If a d20 test fails with a roll of your Bardic Die added, that use of Bardic Inspiration is not expended. #### Magical Secrets By **11th level**, when you prepare Bard spells, you gain 2 additional prepared spells. These spells may be from any spell list of your choice, so long as it of a spell level equal to or lower than half of your Bard level (rounded up). At **15th level**, this number of additional prepared spells increases to 3, and then to 4 at **17th level**. #### Ready to Inspire At **13th level**, when you roll Initiative, you regain two expended uses of your Bardic Inspiration. #### Mass Inspiration At **18th level,** when you use Bardic Inspiration, you can choose to expend 2 uses of Bardic Inspiration and grant an Inspiration Die to a number of creatures equal to your Bardic Bonus. Once You've used This feature, you cannot do so again until you finish a short or long rest. #### Epic Boon At **19th level**, you gain a feat of your choice. If you choose so, this feat may be an Epic Boon as displayed in One D&D playtest.

#### Words of Power At **20th level** you have mastered various words of power. You therefore always have the Power Word Heal and Power Word Kill spells prepared, and when you cast either spell, or when you use your Bardic Inspiration, you can target a second creature of your choice, provided that creature is within 10 feet of the first target. \page

## Bardic Arts ___ ### Art of Creation I would not make enough changes to this class to justify sharing any unaltered features. You are still reliant on your own senses when casting the Spell. ### Art of Dance Flavour text that belongs to Wizards ##### Dance Spells | Bard Level | Additional Prepared Spells | |:----:|:---------------------------------:| | 3rd | Jump, Blur | | 5th | Haste | | 7th | Freedom of Movement | | 9th | Far Step | #### Dazzling Footwork When you partake in the Art of Dance fromn **3rd level**, your practice of dance gives you the ability to gracefully dodge and make agile strikes. As a bonus action, you can gain the following benefits for 10 minutes: ___ - **Unarmoured Defence.** Your base Armour Class equals 10 + your Dexterity modifier + your Charisma modifier. - **Agile Strikes.** Once per turn when you use a feature that expends a use of your Bardic Inspiration, you can make an Unarmed Strike (no action required). - **Bardic Damage.** You can use Dexterity for the attack and damage rolls of your Unarmed Strikes, and they use a damage die equal to your Bardic Die. Once you use this feature, you cannot do so again until you finish a long rest, or expend a spell slot of 1st level or higher to use the feature again. #### Inspiring Movement At **6th level**, when an enemy you can see ends its turn within 5 feet of an ally of yours who is within 60 feet of you, you can use your Reaction and expend one use of your Bardic Inspiration to move up to half your Speed. Then roll your Bardic Inspiration die, and the ally can move up to a number of feet equal to 5 times the number rolled. None of this feature’s movement provokes Opportunity Attacks. #### Tandem Footwork Also at **6th level**, When you roll Initiative, you can spend one use of your Bardic Inspiration if you don’t have the Incapacitated condition. When you do so, roll your Bardic Inspiration die, and choose a number of creatures within 60 feet of yourself (you can choose yourself), up to a number equal to your Charisma modifier (minimum of one creature). Each of them gains a bonus to their Initiative equal to the number rolled. #### Leading Evasion At **10th level**, When you are subjected to an effect that allows you to make a Dexterity saving throw to take only half damage, you instead take no damage if you succeed on the saving throw, and you take only half damage if you fail. If any creatures within 5 feet of you are making the same Dexterity saving throw, you can expend a use of your Bardic Inspiration as a reaction to share this benefit with them for that save. You can’t use this feature if you have the Incapacitated condition. #### Irresistable Dance From **14th level**, you always have the Otto’s Irresistible Dance spell prepared. You can cast it without expending a spell slot. Once you cast the spell in this way, you can’t do so again until you finish a Long Rest. You can also restore your use of the feature by expending four uses of your Bardic Inspiration (no action required). ### Art of Eloquence I would not make enough changes to this class to justify sharing any unaltered features. With this variant of the Bard Class, you gain the following additional or altered features: ##### Eloquence Spells | Bard Level | Additional Prepared Spells | |:----:|:---------------------------------:| | 3rd | Bless, Gift of Gab | | 5th | Motivational Speech | | 7th | Confusion | | 9th | Modify Memory | #### Universal Speech At **6th level**, you have gained the ability to make your speech intelligible to any creature. You can cast Tongues without expending a spell slot to do so. When you do so, you must target yourself, and creatures do not need to know a language to understand you. Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a long rest, unless you expend a spell slot of 3rd-level or higher to use it again. #### Silver Tongue you gain this feature at **6th level** rather than 3rd. Also, **Unfailing Inpsiration** has been folded into the core class, so would be removed from this subclass. \page

#### Unsettling Words Improvement At **10th level**, Whenever you use your Unsettling Words feature, you can deal Psychic damage to that creature equal to the number you rolled on the Bardic Inspiration die plus your Charisma Modifier. ### Art of Glamour flavour text owned by Wizards ##### Glamour Spells | Bard Level | Additional Prepared Spells | |:----:|:---------------------------------:| | 3rd | Command, Mirror Image | | 5th | hypnotic pattern | | 7th | confusion | | 9th | dream | #### Beguiling Magic Also at **3rd level**, immediately after you cast an Enchantment or Illusion spell, you can cause a creature you can see within 60 feet of yourself to make a Wisdom saving throw against your Spell Save DC. On a failed save, the target has the Charmed or Frightened condition (your choice) for 1 minute. The target can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success. Once you use this benefit, you can’t use it again until you finish a Long Rest. You can also restore your use of the feature by expending one use of your Bardic Inspiration (no action required). #### Mantle of Inspiration When you join the Art of Glamour at **3rd level**, you can weave fey magic into a song or dance to fill others with vigor. As a Bonus Action, you can expend a use of Bardic Inspiration, rolling a Bardic Die. When you do so, choose a number of other creatures within 60 feet of yourself, up to a number equal to your Charisma modifier (minimum of one creature). Each of them gains a number of Temporary Hit Points equal to 2 times the number rolled on the Bardic Inspiration die, and then each of them can use its Reaction to move up to its Speed without provoking Opportunity Attacks. #### Mantle of Majesty At **6th level**, as a Bonus Action, you can cast Command without expending a spell slot, and you take on an unearthly appearance for 1 minute or until your Concentration ends (as if you were concentrating on a spell). During this time, you can cast the Command spell again as a Bonus Action or an action without expending a spell slot. Any creature Charmed by you automatically fails its saving throw against the Command you cast with this feature. Once you use this feature, you can’t use it again until you finish a Long Rest.

#### Magnificient Mantle At **10th level**, You learned to use your fey magic to further aid your allies and admirerers. While a creature has temporary hit points granted by your Mantle of Inspiration, they have advantage on all saving throws. #### Unbreakable Majesty *Unchanged from XGE* \page

### Art of Illustration Illustrative bards take to heart that a picture is worth one-thousand words; they learn to weave magic into their artistic creations, bringing their works of art to life in the most quintessential manner. ##### Illustration Spells | Bard Level | Additional Prepared Spells | |:----:|:---------------------------------:| | 3rd | Chromatic Orb, Skywrite | | 5th | Major Image | | 7th | Fabricate | | 9th | Reincarnate | #### Bonus Proficiencies When you partake in the art of Visual Arts from **3rd level**, you gain proficiency with the Painter's Supplies and Calligrapher's supplies. you may use these tools as a spellcasting focus for your bard spells. #### Magical Realism At **3rd level**, you learn to imbue magic into your artistic drawings to make them temporarily real. You can use your action to expend one use of your Bardic Inspiration to turn a visual depiction of an object or a terrain piece into a three-dimensional manifestation of your depiction. When you do so, the object or terrain piece appears in your hand or in an unoccupied space that you can see within 10 feet of you. An object or terrain piece created by this feature can be no larger than a 5-foot cube, and its form must be that of a nonmagical object or terrain piece that you have seen. A terrain piece created by this feature must be solid. Whatever you choose to create has AC 12 and hit points equal to five times your bard level. Ranged weapons created by this feature are created with 10 pieces of ammunition. Otherwise, weapons and armour created by this feature function as normal and last for 1 hour. Nothing created by this feature can have a value greater than 50 gp. A close inspection of anything created by this feature reveals that it is comprised of paint, ink, or some other visual arts medium. Anything other than weapons or armour created by this feature disappears when you regain all of your expended uses of Bardic Inspiration, if it drops to 0 hit points, or if you choose to revert it back to a two-dimensional depiction (no action required). The maximum size of an object or terrain piece created by this feature increases when you reach certain levels in this class, increasing to a 10-foot cube at **6th level**, a 15-foot cube at **10th level**, and a 20-foot cube at **14th level**. #### Living Artwork Also at **3rd level**, you have gained the ability to channel magic into a piece of artwork you have created. Once per Short or Long Rest you can paint a creature with a CR of 1/4 or lower that you have seen in your adventurers. This creature must be a beast, elemental, plant, or monstrosity. As an action, you can pluck your depiction from its canvas, giving it life. You share a telepathic link with this creature. It lasts for 10 minutes or until dismissed or killed, at which point it melts into a puddle of paint, ink, and chalk. At Higher Levels, you can paint more powerful creatures. At **6th Level** you can paint up to CR 1/2 creatures. At **10th Level** you paint up to CR 1 creatures. At **14th Level** you can paint up to CR 2 creatures, and at **18th Level** you can paint up to CR 3 creatures. #### Idealised Visage Also at **6th level**, you can resculpt your features to change your appearance. You can cast the Alter Self ***(BA)*** spell a number of times equal to your Charisma modifier per long rest. #### Burst of Colour At **10th level**, your art has a lasting impact on those around it. When your Living Artwork is reduced to 0 HP, you can choose for it to explode in a burst of colour. Each creature within 15-feet of the Living Artwork must succeed on a Dexterity saving throw or take 2d10 acid damage and is blinded for 1 round. On a success, a creature takes half as much damage and is not blinded. \page

#### Magnum Opus At **14th level**, you have learned how to manipulate the colours and patterns in your works of art to magically produce a strong emotional response in others. As an action, you produce a magical spectacle originating from a visual artwork of your conjuration. Each creature in a 30 ft sphere is targeted by one effect from the options below and must make a Wisdom saving throw. Creatures with an Intelligence score of 4 or less aren’t affected. ___ Choose one of the following options below for its effect: ___ - **Anger.** On a failed save, the creature becomes charmed by you for 1 minute. While charmed in this way, the creature has advantage on all of its attack rolls. In addition, all attack rolls made against the creature are done so at advantage. The creature can repeat its saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself with a success. If a creature’s saving throw is successful or the effect ends for it, the creature is immune to the effects of this masterpiece for the next hour. - **Beauty.** On a failed save, the creature becomes charmed by you for 1 minute. While charmed in this way, the creature regards you as a friendly acquaintance. When the effect ends, the creature knows it was charmed by you. If a creature’s saving throw is successful or the effect ends for it, the creature is immune to the effects of this masterpiece for the next hour. - **Depression.** On a failed save, the creature becomes charmed by you for 1 minute. While charmed in this way, the creature has disadvantage on ability checks and saving throws for the duration. The charmed creature can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success. When the effect ends, the creature knows it was charmed by you. If a creature’s saving throw is successful or the effect ends for it, the creature is immune to the effects of this masterpiece for the next hour. - **Hilarity.** On a failed save, the creature becomes charmed by you for 1 minute. While charmed in this way, the creature falls prone, becoming incapacitated and unable to stand up for the duration. The charmed creature can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success. When the effect ends, the creature knows it was charmed by you. If a creature’s saving throw is successful or the effect ends for it, the creature is immune to the effects of this masterpiece for the next hour.

When a creature that you can see within 60 feet of you makes an attack roll, an ability check, or a damage roll, you can use your reaction to expend one of your uses of Bardic Inspiration, rolling a Bardic Inspiration die and subtracting the number rolled from the creature's roll. #### Magical Discovery At **6th level**, choose two spells of your choice from any spell list of your choice, though they must be from the same spell list as each other. Those two spells are permanantly prepared for you. These spells must be of a level equal to half of your Bard level (rounded up, to a maximum of 9th level). You can change your choice of spells chosen with this feature as you gain levels in this class. #### Cunning Wordsmith Through your studies and your cunning, you’ve learned to inspire others exceptionally well. From **10th level**, when any creature rolls your Bardic Die, that creature can roll the die twice and use the higher of the two rolls. Additionally, when you use your Cutting Words feature, you can choose to deal Psychic damage to your target equal to your Charisma modifier. #### Peerless Skill Starting at **14th level**, When you make an ability check or attack roll and fail, you can expend one use of Bardic Inspiration, roll the Bardic Inspiration die, and add the number rolled to the d20, potentially turning a failure into a success. On a failure, the Bardic Inspiration isn’t expended. \page

### Art of Mimicry Bards of the Art of Mimicry travel around the world, learning the nature of humankind and inspired by the talent displayed by others during their travels. You sing great stories of the people you have met, observed or studied. Members of this Art are masters of learning from those they sing about, picking up abilities they have observed or interacted with during their adventures. They are adept at even weaving their magic to replicate the magical talents of others. #### Silent Spellcasting When you choose this Art at **3rd level**, you learn to show, not tell. When you cast a bard spell with a verbal component, you can replace that component with a somatic component instead. Additionally, a creature may benefit from your bardic inspiration if it can see you, even if it can't year you. Additionally, you gain a special pair of gloves used by magical mimes. While you are wearing these gloves, you can use them as your spellcasting focus for bard spells. #### Mimicry Beginning at **3rd level**, you begin to excel at mimicry and costuming. You gain proficiency with the disguise kit, and you can spend 1 minute observing a creature. If you do, you can perfectly imitate their physical mannerisms. ##### Mimicry Spells | Bard Level | Additional Prepared Spells | |:----:|:---------------------------------:| | 3rd | Shield, Warding Bond | | 5th | Magic Circle | | 7th | Resillient Sphere | | 9th | Wall of Force | #### Hoodwink Also at **3rd level**, your thespian skill lets you convince, con, charm and confuse your foes with ease. As a reaction when you see a creature within 60 feet of you make a successful Intelligence, Wisdom, or Charisma saving throw, you can expend one use of your Bardic Inspiration and roll two bardic inspiration dice. You deal psychic damage to the target equal to the highest number rolled, and you reduce target's saving throw result by the lowest number rolled, potentially causing the attempt to fail. #### Mental Conjuration At **6th level**, your performance has become so perfect that when you simply pretend to interact with an object, you can make it real. By gesturing as if a certain object exists over the course of one minute, you can create an object within 5 feet of you; a weapon, rope, tools, furniture, or similar. The created object must be no larger than a 5 foot cube, and the object must be of a form and material that you have seen before. an object created in this way is invisible and vanishes after 1 hour or if you dismiss it as a bonus action. The object you conjure also vanishes if you use this feature again to conjure a new object.

#### Perfect Immitation From **10th level,** when you see a creature within 60 feet of you make an ability check or saving throw, you can use your reaction to memorise perfectly what your target did. At any point in the next 24 hours when you make the same ability check or saving throw, you can choose to replace your total with the total rolled by your target, expending your ability to recreate that roll. If you use your reaction to memorise another ability check or saving throw, you lose access to any roll you already had memorised this way. #### Spell Ventriloquy Beginning at **14th level**, whenever you cast a spell that doesn't have a range of self, you can choose a point within 30 feet of you. The spell's effects originate from that point, and its range is calculated accordingly. Additionally, if the point you choose is occupied by a creature, you can make a Charisma (Deception) check as part of the casting of the spell, contested by a Wisdom (Perception) check by every creature of your choice who can see you. Each creature that saw the spell and failed the contest doesn't see you cast the spell, and sees that spell's visible effects appear to originate directly from that creature. \page

### Art of Satire Bards of the Art of Spirits seek tales with inherent power—be they legends, histories, or fictions—and bring their subjects to life. Using occult trappings, these bards conjure spiritual embodiments of powerful forces to change the world once more. Such spirits are capricious, though, and what a bard summons isn't always entirely under their control. ##### Satire Spells | Bard Level | Additional Prepared Spells | |:----:|:---------------------------------:| | 3rd | Hideous Laughter, Detect Thoughts | | 5th | Stinking Cloud | | 7th | Resillient Sphere | | 9th | Synaptic Static | #### Cruel Jest When you join the Art of Satire at **3rd level**, When you cast Vicious Mockery, it deals additional damage equal to your Charisma modifier. If the target succeeds on their Saving Throw against this spell, they take half as much damage as they would had they failed the saving throw. #### Tumbling Fool At **3rd level**, you master a variety of acrobatic techniques that allow you to evade danger. As a bonus action, you can tumble. When you tumble, you gain the following benefits for the rest of your turn: ___ - **Exit Stage.** You gain the benefits of taking the Dash and Disengage actions. - **Climb.** You gain a climbing speed equal to your current speed. - **Safe Landing.** You take half damage from falling. #### Fool's Insight At **6th level**, your ability to gather stories and lore gains a supernatural edge. You can cast Detect Thoughts up to a number of times equal to your Charisma modifier. You regain any expended uses of this ability after completing a long rest. If a creature resists your attempt to probe deeper and succeeds at its saving throw against your Detect Thoughts, it immediately suffers an embarrassing social gaffe. It might loudly pass gas, unleash a thunderous burp, trip and fall, or be compelled to tell a tasteless joke. #### Jester's Privilege A jester has the privilege to remain unharmed by their audience. At **10th level**, when a creature attempts to harm you, they must make a Charisma Saving Throw against your spell save DC. On a failed save, the target must choose a new target if it is a single target attack, or reposition their area of Effect (if the harmful action has one) as to not include you in its area of effect. If you have hit your target with a Vicious Mockery Spell since your last turn, or if the target has failed a saving throw against your casting detect thoughts on them in the last minute, the target has Disadvantage on the saving throw. You can use this ability a number of times equal to your Charisma Modifier, regaining all expended uses when you finish a long rest. #### Fool's Luck Jesters seem to have a knack for pulling themselves out of tight situations, transforming what looks like sure failure into an embarrassing but effective success. At **14th level**, you can expend one use of Bardic Inspiration after you fail an ability check, fail a saving throw, or miss with an attack roll. Roll a Bardic Inspiration die and add the number rolled to the failed roll. If you still fail, your use of Bardic Inspiration is not expended, and you instead gain the benefits of your Tumbling Fool feature, allowing you to leave in shame. ### Art of Spiritualism I would not make enough changes to this class to justify sharing any unaltered features. Whenever you roll on the Spirit Tales table, you can roll the die twice and choose which of the two effects to bestow. If you roll the same number on both dice, you can ignore the number and choose any effect on the table. \page

### Art of Swords Bards of the Art of Swords are called blades, and they entertain through daring feats of weapon prowess. Blades perform stunts such as sword swallowing, knife throwing and juggling, and mock combats. Though they use their weapons to entertain, they are also highly trained and skilled warriors in their own right. Their talent with weapons inspires many blades to lead double lives. One blade might use a circus troupe as cover for nefarious deeds such as assassination, robbery, and blackmail. Other blades strike at the wicked, bringing justice to bear against the cruel and powerful. If you’re proficient with a simple or martial melee weapon, you can use it as a spellcasting focus for your bard spells. #### Fighting Style At **3rd level**, you adopt a particular style of fighting as your specialty. Choose one of the following options. ___ - **Dueling.** When you are wielding a melee weapon in one hand and no other weapons, you gain a bonus to damage rolls with that weapon equal to your Bard Bonus - **Two-Weapon Fighting.** When you engage in two-weapon fighting, you can add your ability modifier to the damage of the second attack. Alternatively, you can choose any one weapon of your choice. You are able to use the Mastery property for that weapon.

#### Blade Flourish At **3rd level**, *this feature is unaltered from XGE* #### Extra Attack Starting at **6th level**, you can attack twice, instead of once, whenever you take the Attack action on your turn. Moreover, you can cast one of your cantrips in place of one of those attacks. #### Master's Flourish *You gain this feature at **10th level**, but it is otherwise unaltered from XGE* #### Impecable Blades At **14th level**, when you make an Attack Roll and miss, you can expend one use of Bardic Inspiration, roll the Bardic Inspiration die, and add the number rolled to the Attack Roll. If the Attack still misses, the Bardic Inspiration is not expended. \page

You gain additional ways to use your Bardic Inspiration: ___ - **Inspired Defence.** When another creature within 60 feet of you that you can see or hear is hit by an Attack Roll, you can use your Reaction to roll your Bardic Inspiration die and decrease the damage they receive by an amount equal to the number rolled on the Bardic Inspiration die + your Charisma Modifier (to a minimum of 0 damage). - **Inspired Offence.** When another creature within 60 feet of you that you can see or hear deals damage with an Attack or Spell, you can use your Reaction to roll your Bardic Inspiration die and increase the damage they deal equal to the number rolled on the Bardic Inspiration die + your Charisma Modifier (minimum of 1). #### Extra Attack Starting at **6th level**, you can attack twice, instead of once, whenever you take the Attack action on your turn. Moreover, you can cast one of your cantrips in place of one of those attacks. #### Inspired Strike At **10th level**, you can forgo one of your attacks you make as part of the Attack Action and direct one of your companions to attack a creature. When you do so, choose one creature within 60 feet of you. That creature can immediately make one Weapon Attack. If the attack hits, you can use your Inspired Offence without expending a use of Bardic Inspiration.

#### Songs of War At **14th level**, your Combat Inspiration brings certainty to the strikes and safety of your allies. When you use your Inspired Defence or Inspired Offence, roll your Bardic Die twice. The higher roll produces the effects of the feature as described in your Combat Inspiration feature. The lower roll produces the following effects: ___ - **Inspired Defence.** the targets AC increases by an amount equal to the lower roll until the end of their next turn - **Inspired Offence.** The targets Attack Rolls are increased by an amount equal to the lower roll until the start of their next turn. ### Art of Whispers Most folk are happy to welcome a bard into their midst. Bards in the Art of Whispers use this to their advantage. They appear to be like other bards, sharing news, singing songs, and telling tales to the audiences they gather. In truth, the College of Art teaches its students that they are wolves among sheep. These bards use their knowledge and magic to uncover secrets and turn them against others through extortion and threats. ##### Whisper Spells | Bard Level | Additional Prepared Spells | |:----:|:---------------------------------:| | 3rd | disguise self, dissonant whispers | | 5th | enemies abound | | 7th | greater invisibility | | 9th | modify memory | #### Words of Terror When you partake in the Art of Dissonance from **3rd level**, uou learn to infuse innocent-seeming words with an insidious magic that can inspire terror. If you speak to at least one creature that can understand you for at least 1 minute, you can attempt to seed paranoia the minds of those around you. When you do so, choose a number of creatures who listened to the conversation for at least 1 minute equal to your Bardic Bonus. Each creature must make a Wisdom Saving Throw against your Spell Save DC or be Frightened of you or another creature of your choice. The target is Frightened in this way for 1 hour or until it is attacked or damaged. If a target suceeds on its Saving Throw, the target has no hint that you tried to Frighten it. Once you use this feature, you can’t use it again until you finish a Short or Long rest. \page

#### Mantle of Terror At **3rd level**, You can alter your bardic powers to instill fear in your enemies rather than inspiration in your allies. You gain additional ways to use your Bardic Inspiration: ___ - **Psychic Strike.** Once per turn when you deal damage, you can expend one use of your Bardic Inspiration to impose additional mental punishment against one of your subjects, dealing extra Psychic Damage one creature against whom you dealt damage. The extra Psychic Damage is equal to a number of d6s equal to your Bard Bonus. - **Terrifying Presence.** Whenever a hostile creature you can see comes within 5 feet of you or a creature you can see within 60 feet, you can use your Reaction to roll a Bardic Inspiration die and force that creature to make a Wisdom Saving Throw against your Spell Save DC. Unless they succeed, the creature must immediately move a number of feet equal to 5 times the number rolled on the Bardic Inspiartion die away from the creature it moved within 5 feet of, so long as it doesn’t move into obviously dangerous ground such as fire or a pit. #### Shadow Thief At **6th level**, You gain the ability to steal from the minds of the creatures you attack. Whenever you deal damage to a creature using your Psychic Strike, you can magically capture their shadow. This shadow represents a part of the creature’s being that you can now use for yourself. You can have a maximum number of shadows equal to your Bardic Bonus, and you can’t capture one while at your maximum. You can use a shadow in the following ways: ___ - **Shadow Disguise.** You can use the shadow as an Action. When you do so, it vanishes, magically transforming into a disguise that appears on you. You now look like the creature whose shadow you captured. This disguise lasts for 1 hour or until you end it as a Bonus Action. While you’re in the disguise, you gain access to all information that the creature would freely share with a casual acquaintance. Such information includes general details on its background and personal life, but doesn’t include secrets. The information is enough that you can pass yourself off as the creature by drawing on its memories. Another creature can see through this disguise by succeeding on a Wisdom (Insight) check contested by your Charisma (Deception) check. You gain a +5 bonus to your check. ___ - **Shadow Proficiency.** If the creature you took the shadow from knew any Languages or had any Weapon, Skill, or Tool Proficiencies that you do not have yourself, you can use the shadow as a Bonus Action and tap into their latent memories. The shadow vanishes and you now know one Language or Proficiency that the creature knew of your choice. This Proficiency disappears after 1 hour as all the creature’s memories fade from your mind. - **Shadow Spell.** If the creature knew or had prepared any Spells which you don’t know or have prepared, you can use the shadow as a Bonus Action to make the shadow vanish and learn those Spells for 1 hour. You can cast one of these spells using one of your own Spell Slots of an appropriate level to the Spell you’d like to cast. If the Spell you’re casting is a Cantrip or a Spell you cast as a Ritual, you do not need to spend any Spell Slots. Once you cast a Spell in this way, your knowledge of how to cast all of those Spells fades and you are unable to cast them again unless you use a shadow in this way again or learn them through other means. #### Terrific Terror at **10th level,** you’ve learned to manipulate your bardic abilities to instill even greater fear in your enemies. When you use your Psychic Strike on a creature, you can force that creature to make a Wisdom Saving Throw. On a failure, the creature is Frightened of you until the start of your next turn. Additionally, when you use your Terrifying Presence on a creature, you can deal Psychic damage equal to the number rolled on the Bardic Inspiration die you expended to use this feature + your Charisma Modifier. #### Shadow Lore *At **14th level**, this feature is unaltered from XGE* \page

#### Font of Magic At **1st level**, you tap into a deep wellspring of magic within yourself. On top of what is listed in the Spell Points column of the Sorcerer Table, you have an additional number of Spell Points equal to your Half your Sorcerer level + your Constitution Modifier. All expended Spell Points are regained when you finish a Long Rest. Further details on how you can use spell points are detailed in your Spellcasting feature, and later in your Metamagic feature. #### Sorcerous Origin Choose a sorcerous origin, which describes the source of your innate magical power. At **3rd, 6th, 10th** and **14th level**, your choice of sorcerous origin will grant you unique features endemic of your Sorcerous Origin. \page

#### Sorcerous Spellcasting An event in your past, or in the life of a parent or ancestor, left an indelible mark on you, infusing you with arcane magic. This font of magic, whatever its origin, fuels your spells. ___ - **Armour.** You are not able to cast any Sorcerer spells while wearing Medium or Heavy armour. - **Cantrips.** You know a number of Cantrips from the Sorcerer spell list equal to your Sorcerer Bonus. - **Spell Points.** The Spell points column in the Sorcerer Table shows how many spell points you have, which can be used to cast Sorcerer spells you have prepared. To cast a sorcerer spell, you must expend a number of spell points determined by the spell level, as shown in the spellcasting table below. You regain all expended spell points when you finish a long rest. - **Preparing and Casting Spells.** The Spells Known column of the Sorcerer Table shows how many Sorcerer spells you can prepare at each level in this class. The highest level of spell you may prepare from the Sorcerer Spell List is shown for your level in the "Highest Level Spell Known" column of the Sorcerer table. For example, at 3rd level, you may prepare 6 Sorcerer spells, which must all be of 2nd level or lower. - **Changing Prepared Spells.** When you finish a Long Rest, you may refocus the arcane energy within you, allowing you to choose one spell you have prepared from the sorcerer spell list swap it for another spell from the sorcerer spell list that you are able to prepare. - **Spellcasting Ability.** When you gain this feature, you choose whether your Spellcasting Ability is Wisdom or Charisma. All sorcerer's have innate magical power. You may decide Wisdom is best fit for a character of strong will-power and intuitions of themselves and the world around them, or Charisma if your character is one who, through magic, has adopted a commanding presence that imbues awe in those that percieve their power. You use this ability's score or modifier whenever a spell or Sorcerer class feature refers to your spellcasting ability. In addition, you use your Spellcasting ability when setting the saving throw DC for a sorcerer spell you cast and when making an attack roll with one. - **Spellcasting Focus.** You can use an arcane focus as a spellcasting focus for your sorcerer spells. ##### Spellcasting Table

#### Sorcerous Magic At **1st level**, at 1st level, you come to produce the most fundemental of magics, as detailed in the following features: ___ - **Innate Spells.** You automatically have the spells **Chaos Bolt** and **Mage Armour** prepared. - **Sorcerous Burst.** an constant wellspring of power resides within you, which you can release in a targeted burst of arcane devestation. Choose a damage type: Acid, Cold, Fire, Lightning, Poison, Psychic, or Thunder. As an action, you make a ranged spell spell attack against a target within 60 feet of you. On a hit, the target takes 1d8 damage of your chosen damage type. If you roll an 8 on a d8 for this spell, you can roll another d8, and add it to the damage. Whenever you use this feature, the maximum number of these d8s you can add to the spell’s damage equals your Constitution modifier. You gain one additional d8 as part of the initial damage of this feature when you reach **5th level**, and another at **11th level**, and again at **17th level**. #### Metamagic At **2nd level**, you gain the ability to twist your spells to suit your needs. You gain two of the following Metamagic options of your choice. You gain an additional two metamagic options at each of the following levels in this clas: **7th, 9th, 18th** and **20th level**. You can use only one Metamagic option on a spell when you cast it, unless otherwise noted. ___ - **Careful Spell.** When you cast a spell that forces other creatures to make a saving throw, you can protect some of those creatures from the spell’s full force. To do so, you spend 1 Spell Point and choose a number of those creatures up to your Charisma modifier (minimum of one creature). A chosen creature automatically succeeds on its saving throw against the spell, and it takes no damage if it would normally take half damage on a successful save. - **Distant Spell.** When you cast a spell that has a range of at least 5 feet, you can spend 1 Spell Point to increase the spell’s range by a number of feet equal to 15 times your Sorcerer level. When you cast a spell that has a range of Touch, you can spend 1 spell Point to make the range of the spell 30 feet. - **Empowered Spell.** When you roll damage for a spell, you can spend 1 spell point to reroll a number of the damage dice up to your Wisdom modifier (minimum of one). You must use the new rolls. You can use Empowered Spell even if you have already used a different Metamagic option during the casting of the spell. - **Extended Spell.** When you cast a spell that has a duration of 1 minute or longer, you can spend 1 spell point to double its duration, to a maximum duration of 24 hours. - **Heightened Spell.** When you cast a spell that forces a creature to make a saving throw to resist its effects, you can spend 3 spell points to give one target of the spell disadvantage on its first saving throw made against the spell. - **Quickened Spell.** When you cast a spell that has a casting time of 1 action, you can spend 2 spell points to change the casting time to 1 bonus action for this casting. \page

___ - **Seeking Spell.** If you make an attack roll for a spell and miss, you can spend 2 spell points to reroll the d20, and you must use the new roll. You can use Seeking Spell even if you have already used a different Metamagic option during the casting of the spell. - **Subtle Spell.** When you cast a spell, you can spend 1 spell point to cast it without any somatic or verbal components. Additionally, any material components required for the spell must only be within 5 feet of you, not necessarily wielded. - **Transmuted Spell.** When you cast a spell that deals a type of damage from the following list, you can spend 1 spell point to change that damage type to one of the other listed types: acid, cold, fire, lightning, poison, thunder. - **Twinned Spell.** When you cast a spell that targets only one creature and doesn't have a range of self, you can cast the same spell as a bonus action by spending a number of Spell Points equal to 1 + the spells level. The highest number of spell points you are able to spend this way is equal to your Sorcerer Bonus minus 1. #### Feat When you reach **4th level**, and again at **8th, 12th** and **16th level**, you gain the Ability Score Improvement feat or any other feat of your choice. #### Magical Guidance At **5th level**, you can tap into your inner wellspring of magic to try to conjure success from failure. When you make an ability check that fails, you can spend 2 spell point to reroll the d20 with advantage, and you must use the new roll, potentially turning the failure into a success. #### Mystical Incarnation You gain a greater, meticulous control over your innate magic. At **9th level**, you gain the Spell Points granted to you by your Font of Magic feature when you finish a short rest. Additionally, You can use up to two of your Metamagic options on each spell you cast, provided you pay the Spell Point costs. #### Sorcerous Power ___ From **11th level**, you gain access to the upper echelons of arcane power. You are able to cast one spell at 6th-level. This increases to two spells cast at 6th-level when you reach **19th level**. ___ - At **13th level**, you are able to cast one spell at 7th-level. This increases to two spells cast at 7th-level when you reach **20th level**. - At **15th level**, you are able to cast one spell at 8th level, and finally at **17th level**, you are able to cast one spell at 9th level. Your ability to cast spells this way are expended when used, and you regain those expended uses when you finish a long rest.

#### Greater Metamagic At **18th level**, your mastery of magic allows you to manipulate your spellcasting with greater ease. Choose two of the metamagic options that you know. When you use those metamagic options, you can reduce the total expended spell points by 1 from each option chosen. #### Epic Boon At **19th level**, you gain a feat of your choice. If you choose so, this feat may be an Epic Boon as displayed in One D&D playtest. #### Supreme Sorcery At **20th level**, you are now so suffused with magic to bend the laws of magic comes to you with ease. Choose 4 Metamagic options and an equal number of spells. Those spells and Metamagics have their Spell Point cost reduced by 1. \page

#### Draconic Resilience As magic flows through your body, it causes physical traits of your dragon ancestors to emerge. At **3rd level**, Your Hit Point maximum increases by an amount equal to your Sorcerer level. Parts of you are also covered by dragon-like scales. Your base Armour Class equals 10 + your Dexterity modifier + your Spellcasting Ability modifier. #### Elemental Affinity Starting at **6th level**, your draconic magic has an affinity with one of the damage types associated with dragons. Choose one of those types: Acid, Cold, Fire, Poison, or Lightning. You have Resistance to that damage type, and when you deal that damage type, you can add your Spellcasting modifier to the damage. #### Draconic Exhalation At **10th level**, when you use Sorcerous Burst, you can exhale it in a 15-foot cone rather than selecting a target within range. To cast the spell in this way, you must choose the damage type associated with your Elemental Affinity feature. When you do so, instead of making an attack roll, each creature within the cone makes a Dexterity Saving Throw. #### Wyrm Wings Beginning at **14th level**, Your innate magic can now manifest as spectral draconic wings on your back. By expending 7 Spell Points, you sprout those wings, gain a Fly Speed equal to your Speed, and can hover. This lasts for 1 minute. In addition, at the end of each of your turns while this is active, you can flap the wings to unleash magical energy, dealing damage to each creature of your choice within 15 feet of yourself. The damage equals your Spellcasting Ability modifier, and it is the damage type you chose as part of your Elemental Affinity feature.

### Entropic Soul In all the world, all things are imbued with minor quirks of magic that give them life. There is magic in each bee in a hive and in each dragon atop a mountain, and both the pollen of the flower or maginitude of the mountain are too suffused with their own traces of the arcane. A sorcerer of the entropic soul, by quirk of their birth, is uncannily devoid of these natural magics, their body perpetually rejecting them. As a result, they create an arcane void space where surrounding magics flood in trying to restore magical equilibrium to their environment, fruitlessly. You draw on the magic that is so attracted to you and warp it to your will, destroying it in the process. #### Entropic Spells Starting at **3rd level**, you learn additional spells when you reach certain levels in this class, as shown on the Entropic Spells table. As a bonus action, you can expend a spell slot and regain hit points equal to five times the level of the expended spell slot. If the number of hit points regained would exceed your maximum hit points, you can choose to have the remainder of hit points gained as temporary hit points. For example, if gaining 4 additional hit points would heal you to your maximum and you expend a 1st level spell slot for this feature, you can choose to gain 1 temporary hit point. #### Arcane Destruction At **6th level**, when you cast an abjuration spell that requires you to make an ability check as a part of casting that spell (as in counterspell and dispel magic), you add your proficiency bonus to that ability check. \page

#### Permeating Void At **10th level**, you can consume arcane energies that target you with malice. You have resistance to damage from spells and other magical effects. Additionally, if you end a spell or magical effect which you did not create, such as with Counterspell or Dispel Magic, you can expend 3 spell points to gain the benefits of your Comsuming Rejuvination ability as if you had expended a spell slot of the level used to create the spell or magical effect you dispelled. #### Entropic Aura At **14th level**, As an action, you can produce a 30 foot aura of arcane disturbance that surrounds you for 1 minute. while within the aura, creatures of your choice benefit from the following features: ___ - **Attack Rolls.** When a spell attack roll is made against them, you impose disadvantage on the attack roll. - **Saving Throws.** When they are forced to make a saving throw against a spell or magical effect within that aura, you can grant the creature advantage on the saving throw. - **Magic Items.** When they are hit by a weapon attack roll with a magic item within the aura, you can half the damage that they take from the hit. Once you use this feature, you cannot do so again until you finish a long rest, or unless you expend 7 spell points to do so as an action. ### Fey Magic innate magic you possess comes from some mingling of Feywild magic into your bloodline. Your ancestors may have bargained with powerful fey, or spent too long living in the Feywild. A trickster fey may even have taken you as a child and placed a spell upon you. Whatever the case, you have been given a variety of faerie magic to wield as your own. #### Court Magic At **3rd level**, you learn additional spells when you reach certain levels in this class, as shown on the Court Spells table. You automatically know every spell in the Faerie Magic column in the Court Spells table below. Whenever you finish a long rest, you can choose which Fae Court's magic you channel. Winter, Spring, Summer, or Autumn. You have all of the spells in the column for your chosen Court prepared until you finish your next long rest. The Fae courts are often associated with certain emotional states - passion and boldness for Summer, peacefulness and charity for Autumn, contemplative and/or melancholy for Winter, cheerful and celebratory for Spring. You can be attuned to a season and still experience other emotions, but consider how channelling the magics of these courts may affect your character in play.

#### Illusory Movement At **3rd level**, your innate talent for illusion magic begins to blossom. If you cast a spell granted by your Court Magic feature as an action, you can choose to turn invisible as a bonus action until the start of your next turn. If you deal damage to a creature before the start of your next turn, you instantly become visible. Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a short or long rest. #### Stolen Charm From **6th level**, you see a creature succeed a saving throw against an affect that would charm or frighten the creature, you can use your reaction to force another creature to make a saving throw against the same effect using your Spell Save DC. If the creature fails the saving throw, they would be charmed or frightened of you, regardless of the original source. All other effects that would have affected the original target if they failed instead affect your target if they fail. #### Fey Gift At **10th level,** you can spend 5 use your reaction when you see a willing creature within 60 feet of you fail an ability check or saving throw to grant their roll a bonus equal to your Spellcasting Ability Modifier. If your target's check or saving throw turns to a success, they owe you a favour. At any point in the next 24 hours, you can make a request of them as a reaction, as if you cast the Command spell on them. If your command would require them to make a d20 test, they have advantage on the roll. \page

#### Archfey At **14th** level, you are the master of all whimsy and woeful.You gain the following features: ___ - **Friend and Foe.** If you cast a spell on a creature that results in them being charmed or frightened, you can choose to instead impose the other condition of the two on them. If you cast a spell of 1st-level or higher on a creature that is already charmed or frightened, you can swap which of the two effects they are under or choose to end the condition on them entirely. - **Crown of the Courts.** You can change which court's spells you know, as per your Court Magic feature, after finishing a short rest. - **Magical Being.** You have advantantage on all saving throws against spells and magical effects. - **Fae Flight.** You have a flying speed of 30 feet. If you have a flying speed from another source, it instead increases by 30 feet. You can change your saving throws this way a number of times equal to your Sorcerer Bonus. You regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.

#### Essence of Ordening Starting at **6th level**, you gain a benefit whenever you cast one of the spells granted by your Giant Spells Feature. All of the benefits granted when you cast a Giant Spell by any of the following features are also applied when you use your Sorcerous Burst feature. ___ - **Cloud Giant.** Immediately after you cast any of your Giant spells, you can magically teleport as a bonus action. You teleport to an unoccupied space you can see that is no farther away than a number of feet equal to 10 times your Sorcerer Bonus. - **Fire Giant.** You gain a bonus to the damage rolls of your Giant Spells equal to your Sorcerer Bonus. The bonus damage type is Fire. - **Frost Giant.** Immediately after you cast any of your Giant Spells, you gain temporary hit points equal to your Sorcerer Bonus. But if the spell is armor of Agathys, you instead increase its temporary hit points by an amount equal to your Sorcerer. - **Hill Giant.** Immediately after you cast any of your Giant Spells, you can target up to two creatures within 5 feet of you that you can see. Each target must succeed on a Strength saving throw against your spell save DC or be pushed a number of feet away from you equal to 5 times your Sorcerer Bonus. A target can choose to fail this save. - **Stone Giant.** Immediately after you cast any of your Giant spells, you gain a bonus to your Armour Class equal to your Sorcerer Bonus until the end of your next turn. - **Storm Giant.** Immediately after you cast any of your Giant spells, up to a number of creatures equal to your Sorcerer Bonus of your choice that you can see within 30 feet of you take lightning damage equal to your Sorcerer Bonus. #### Enlarged Force Starting at **10th level**, your mastery of giant magic allows you to to increase your own size and take advantage of it. As a bonus action, you can expend 2 spell points choose to increase your size by one category for 1 minute or until you are incapacitated, unconscious, or dead. You can revert to your regular size early as a bonus action. Once you have enlarged yourself this way, you cannot do so again until you finish a short or long rest. Additionally, When you cast a spell that deals damage and you are in this enlarged state, choose one creature damaged by that spell on the round you cast it. That creature takes extra force damage equal to half your sorcerer level. This feature can be used only once per casting of a spell. \page

#### Gigantic Form Beginning at **14th level**, you gain the ability to channel the souls of your ancestors into your physical form. When you use your Enlarged Force feature to enlarge yourself, your size category increases by 2 sizes instead of 1, so long as the space you occupy allows for it. Additionally, while you remain in this enlarged state, you gain the following benefits: ___ - **Fortitude.** Your current hit points and your hit point maximum both increase by 1 per sorcerer level. - **Reach.** Your reach and the range of your cantrips both increase by 5 feet. - **Strength Checks.** You have advantage on Strength checks and Strength saving throws. - **Magical Strength.** Your strength score matches your Spellcasting Ability score, if it is not already higher. Additionally, you can enter your enlarged state when you have already expended your ability to do so by expending 6 Spell Points. #### One's Own Ordening Also at **14th level,** you can create your own personal clan of Giants. When you use your Enlarged Force or Giant's Form feature to Enlarge yourself, you can choose a number of willing creatures equal to your spellcasting ability modifier. Those creatures become Large if they are not already large or larger. Once per turn and against one creature when enlarged this way, each of your targets can deal additional force damage against a creature to whom they deal damage equal to your Spellcasting Ability modifier. Your target creatures remain enlarged for as long as you do. ### Spells for Other Bloodlines I haven't really any significant complaints about the following subclasses, but god damn sorcerers should have their subclass spells! So, here they are. #### Divine Soul Your link to the divine allows you to learn spells normally associated with the cleric class. When your Spellcasting feature lets you learn a sorcerer cantrip or a sorcerer spell of 1st level or higher, you can choose the new spell from the cleric spell list or the sorcerer spell list. You must otherwise obey all the restrictions for selecting the spell, and it becomes a sorcerer spell for you. You also learn additional spells when you reach certain levels in this class, as shown on the Divine Magic table. Each of these spells counts as a sorcerer spell for you, but it doesn't count against the number of sorcerer spells you know.

#### But Wait, Where Wild Magic?! Wild magic irredeamably sucks. There are ways of making it better, but that would require completely reimagining the subclass. But a lot of people - including myself - find the Wild Magic surge *incredibly fun*. So, here's a feat for someone who wants to tip their toes into chaos, taking everything fun about the wild magic sorcerer and making it work. ### Chaos Magic Feat **Prerequisite:** The ability to cast at least one spell of 1st-level or higher. ___ The magic that you channel is, or has become, unstable. You gain the following benefits: ___ - **Ability Score Increase.** you gain a +1 bonus to your Constitution, Intelligence, Wisdom or Charisma score. - **Wild Magic Surge.** When you cast a spell of 1st level or higher, roll a d20. On a roll of a 1, you cause a Wild Magic Surge, which is an effect listed on the Wild Magic table (Listed at the end of this document) which is determined randomly. If you do not cause a wild magic surge, then the number you must exceed on a d20 roll to prevent a Wild Magic Surge increases by 1, and this is cumulative. When you take a long rest or set of a wild magic surge this way, that number resets to 1. - **Tides of Chaos.** As a reaction, you can grant a creature you can see or hear within 60 feet of you advantage on a d20 test. When you do so, you cause a random effect from the Wild Magic Table at the start of your next turn. You can do this a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus. - **Imbue Chaos.** As a reaction when a creature you can see succeeds on a d20 test, you can use your reaction to subtract a d4 from their result, potentially turning their success to a failure. You can do this a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus. \page

#### Eldritch Blast At **1st level**, your connection to an otherworldly being has granted you the ability to channel their mystical power in a beam of crackling energy, called an Eldritch Blast. With a spellcasting focus in hand and speaking a word to invoke the power of your patron, you make a Spell Attack as an Action against a creature within 120 feet of you. On a hit, you deal 1d10 force damage against the target. At Higher levels, you can make additional attacks with this feature. As part of the same action, you make 2 attacks with this feature at **5th level**, 3 attacks at **11th level**, and 4 attacks at **17th level.** \page

#### Pact Magic Your arcane research and the magic bestowed on you by your patron have given you facility with spells. ___ - **Armour.** You are not able to cast any Warlock spells while wearing Heavy armour. - **Cantrips.** You know a number of cantrips from the warlock spell list equal to your Warlock Bonus. - **Spell Slots.** The Warlock table shows how many spell slots you have. The table also shows what the level of those slots is; all of your spell slots are the same Level. To cast one of your warlock spells of 1st Level or higher, you must expend a spell slot. You regain all expended spell slots when you finish a short or long rest. - **Prepared spells.** You can prepare a number of Warlock spells as shown for your level in the Spells Prepared Column of the Warlock table. The spells must be of an equal or lower level to half of your warlock level, up to 9th level spells. If another Warlock feature gives spells that you always have prepared, those spells don’t count against the number of spells on the list you prepare with this Spellcasting feature, but those spells otherwise follow the rules in this feature. - **Changing your Prepared Spells.** When you finish a long rest, you can exchange one warlock spell you have prepared for another Warlock spell. - **Spellcasting Ability.** Charisma or Intelligence is your spellcasting ability for your warlock spells, so you use your Spellcasting Ability or its modifier whenever a spell refers to yourit. In addition, you use your Spellcasting Ability modifier when setting the saving throw DC for a warlock spell you cast and when making an attack roll with one. - **Spellcasting Focus.** You can use an arcane focus as a spellcasting focus for your warlock spells. - **Fundemental Magic.** As a warlock, you have the Hex spell automatically prepared. #### Pact Boon At **1st level**, your otherworldly patron bestows a gift upon you for your loyal service. You gain one of the following features of your choice. ___ ##### Pact of the Blade Using your Bonus Action, you conjure a Simple or Martial melee weapon of your choice in your outstretched hand, or you create a bond with a magic weapon you touch. The weapon you conjure or touch must lack the Heavy property, and the spell fails if you touch a magic item that is attuned to someone else. Until you finish your next long rest, the weapon grants you the following benefits: ___ - **Thirsting Blade.** When you use your action to cast Eldritch Blast, you can replace one or more of your Eldritch Blast's beams with an attack using your Pact Weapon. - **Proficiency.** You are always proficient with your Pact Weapon, even if you wouldn't be otherwise. You also gain proficiency with medium armour. - **Returning Weapon.** If the weapon has the Thrown property, the weapon returns to your hand immediately after hitting or missing a target. When you attain **5th level** in this class, you also gain the following benefit: ____ - **Eldritch Warrior.** When you attack with the weapon, you can use your spellcasting ability modifier for the attack and damage rolls, instead of using Strength or Dexterity. ##### Pact of the Talisman Your patron gives you an amulet; a talisman that can aid the wearer when the need is great, granting the following benefits: ___ - **Ability Checks.** When the wearer fails an ability check, either (but not both) of you can use your reaction to add a d4 to the roll. - **Losing your Talisman.** If you lose the talisman, you can perform a ceremony as part of a Short or Long Rest to receive a replacement from your patron. This ceremony can be performed during a short or long rest, and it destroys the previous amulet. The talisman turns to ash when you die. When you attain **5th level** in this class, you also gain the following benefit: ____ - **Saving Throws.** When the wearer fails a saving throw, they can add 1d4 to the save. Your Talisman can be used this way a number of times equal to the number of Invocations you know (as shown on the Invocations Known table on the warlock table). You regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest. ##### Pact of the Tome Stitching together strands of shadow, you conjure forth a Book of Shadows in your hand. The book contains eldritch magic that only you can access, granting you the following benefits: ___ - **Cantrips and Rituals.** When the book appears, choose two cantrips, and choose two 1st-level spells that have the Ritual tag. The spells do not have to be from the Warlock spell list. While the book is on your person, you have the chosen spells prepared. - **Spellcasting Focus.** You can use the book as a Spellcasting Focus. The book disappears if you create a new Book of Shadows or die. - **Losing your Book.** If your book of shadows is lost or destroyed, you can create a new one as part of a short or long rest. When you attain **5th level** in this class, you also gain the following benefit: ____ - **Cantrip Upgrade.** When this book is on your person; you can add your Warlock spellcasting ability modifier to the damage rolls of any cantrip you cast that doesn’t already have that modifier added to its damage roll. \page

##### Pact of the Chain You use your Bonus Action to summon an unearthly entity to serve you. It manifests in an unoccupied space of your choice within range. This creature uses the Pact Familiar stat block, listed below. If you already have a familiar from this spell, that familiar transforms into the new one but retains its memories; you don’t get a second Pact Familiar. Whenever use this feature, choose the familiar’s creature type: Aberration (flumph or knot of tentacles), Celestial (owl, raven, or other bird), Dragon (pseudodragon or similar dragonet), Fey (pixie or sprite), Fiend (imp or quasit), or Undead (shadow or skull). This choice affects the familiar’s default appearance, as noted in the parentheses, and it determines certain traits in its stat block. You can alter details of the creature’s appearance each time you summon it. ___ - **Combat.** The familiar is an ally to you and your companions, and it obeys you. In combat, it shares your Initiative count, but it takes its turn immediately after yours. On its turn, the familiar takes the Dodge action and uses its Move to avoid danger, unless you use your Reaction to command it to attack instead. When you take the attack action or cast Eldritch Blast, you can replace one of your attacks with an attack from your Familiar. - **Disappearance of the Familiar.** The familiar disappears if it drops to 0 Hit Points, if you dismiss it as a Bonus Action, or if you die. At **2nd level**, you gain two eldritch invocations of your choice. When you gain certain warlock levels, you gain additional invocations of your choice, as shown in the Invocations Known column of the Warlock table. Additionally, when you gain a level in this class, you can choose one of the invocations you know and replace it with another invocation that you could learn at that level. A level prerequisite in an invocation refers to warlock level, not character level. \page

#### Otherworldly Patrons At **3rd level**, you have struck a bargain with an otherworldly being. Choose an otherworldly Patron (listed later in this class). Your choice grants you features at **3rd, 6th, 10th** and **14th level**. #### Feat When you reach **4th level**, and again at **8th, 12th** and **16th level**, you gain the Ability Score Improvement feat or any other feat of your choice. #### Occult Curse At **7th level**, your binding to the occult grants you a particular adeptness with hexes. Once per short rest, you can cast Hex without expending a spell slot. When you cast Hex this way, it also does not require your Concentration. #### Contact Patron At **9th level**, you have an intimate bond with your Patron. you always have the Contact Other Plane spell prepared. With this feature, you can cast the spell without expending a Spell Slot to contact your patron, and you automatically succeed on the spell’s saving throw. Once you cast the spell with this feature, you can’t do so again until you finish a Long Rest. #### Hex Master At **18th level**, your adeptness with Hex improves further. When you impose disadvantage on the ability checks with your choice of ability using Hex, your target also has disadvantage on Saving Throws with the same ability. #### Mystic Arcanum At **11th level**, your patron bestows upon you a magical secret called an arcanum. Choose one 6th-Level spell from the warlock spell list as this arcanum. You can cast your arcanum spell once without expending a spell slot. You must finish a long rest before you can do so again. At higher levels, you gain more warlock spells of your choice that can be cast in this way: one 7th-Level spell at **13th level**, one 8th-Level spell at **15th level**, and one 9th-Level spell at **17th level**. You regain all uses of your Mystic Arcanum when you finish a long rest. #### Epic Boon At **19th level**, you gain a feat of your choice. If you choose so, this feat may be an Epic Boon as displayed in One D&D playtest. #### Eldritch Master At **20th level**, you can draw on your inner reserve of mystical power while entreating your patron to regain expended spell slots. You can spend 1 minute entreating your patron for aid to regain all your expended spell slots from your Pact Magic & Mystic Arcanum feature. Once you regain spell slots with this feature, you must finish a long rest before you can do so again. \page

#### Otherwordly Patron Choose an Otherwordly Patron. ### The Ancient Dragon Dragons are creatures of unfathomable magical power and might, as well keepers of centuries old knowledge and great treasures of myth. Besides being perhaps the most powerful of beings that inhabit the material planes, their agendas are as varied and numerous as their are dragons in the world, with some having their claws deep in the affairs of kingly courts, others attempting to assert their dominance over the mortals who dare live under them, and still others simply wishing a peaceful life in their lair and using agents simply to know what is going on in the world without having to exert themselves. Although Dragons themselves are numerous, only the most powerful of Ancient Dragons have the ability to form pacts and share their power with others. #### Draconic Aspect Your patron grants you the elemental power of a dragon. The dragonic aspect with which you share power is usually linked to your patron. Choose one of the following damage types: Acid, Cold, Fire, Lightning, or Poison. #### Draconic Conduit Also at **3rd level**, you learn to channel the element of your draconic patron. You gain a number of Draconic Energy die equal to 1 + your Warlock Bonus. These die are d6s. As a bonus action, you may expend a number of Draconic Energy dice up to 1/3rd your warlock level (minimum of 1). All creatures in a 15-ft cone must make a Dexterity saving throw against your Spell save DC. A creature takes damage equal to the expended Draconic Energy die on a failed save, or half as much on a successful one. The damage type is the same as the one you chose as part of your Draconic Aspect feature. You regain all of your expended Draconic Energy die after a long rest, or one when you finish a short rest. At **10th level** your Draconic Energy die become d8s and at **18th level** they become d10s. #### Dragon Scales At **6th Level**, hard, draconic scales grow across your body, destroying whatever clothing or armour you were wearing. You new AC becomes 13 + your Charisma modifier, and you gain shield training. You also gain resistance to the damage type associated with your draconic aspect. #### Shedded Hide At **6th level**, your draconic patron has gifted you a greater breadth of the draconic experience. You shed your scales, being reborn with a new draconic aspect. As part of a short or long rest, you can swap your draconic aspect for one other. When you assume a new draconic aspect, you replace all features your draconic aspect grants you, including your Ancient Dragon spells, damage resistance, and the effects of your Draconic Conduit feature, for that of your new Aspect. Once you have changed your Draconic Aspect this way, you cannot do so again until you finish a Long Rest. \page

#### Scaled Lotus At **10th Level** you can surround yourself chaotic elemental energy and propel yourself forwards to strike an enemy. As an action you can move towards an enemy up to a distance equal to double your movement speed. This movement can include a jump, for which your total possible distance is also doubled. This movement must be done in a straight line. When you reach the target, make a melee spell attack against the creature. If you hit with the attack, the target takes 6d10 damage determined by your draconic aspect. The target must make a Strength saving throw against your Spell Save DC or be knocked 15ft backwards and prone. If the target collides with a solid object or wall, it takes an additional 3d6 bludgeoning damage. Creatures that are Huge or larger automatically succeed on the Saving Throw. Once you have used this feature, you cannot do so again until you finish a long rest. #### Mantle of the True Dragon At **14th level**, your understanding of and connection to your patron has deepened and for a short while you can access their unbridled might. As a bonus action on your turn you can manifest Tiamat's rage and gain the following benefits for one minute. ___ - **Draconic Wings.** You sprout draconic wings and gain a flying speed of 30 feet. - **Excrutiating Exhalation.** Your Draconic Energy die increase in by one size, up to a d12. - **Draconic Fear.** As a bonus action, you may level your gaze upon any creature within 60 feet that you can see. The creature must make a Wisdom Saving throw against your spell save DC or become frightened of you for one minute. A creature affected by this repeats the save at the end of each of its turns and a creature that saves against this effect may not be subject to it again for 24 hours. While a creature is frightened of you, they have disadvantage on saving throws against your spells and abilities and you have advantage on attack rolls against this creature. Once you have used this feature, you cannot do so again until after you complete a long rest, unless you expend a Pact Magic spell slot to do so again.

### The Fiend You have made a pact with a fiend from the lower planes of existence, a being whose aims are evil, even if you strive against those aims. Such beings desire the corruption or destruction of all things, ultimately including you. Fiends powerful enough to forge a pact include demon lords such as Demogorgon, Orcus, Fraz'Urb-luu, and Baphomet; archdevils such as Asmodeus, Dispater, Mephistopheles, and Belial; pit fiends and balors that are especially mighty; and ultroloths and other lords of the yugoloths. #### Fiend Spells Starting at **3rd level**, The magic of your otherworldly patron grants you the following benefits: ___ - **Prepared Spells.** You always have certain spells ready; when you are able to prepare Warlock Spells of a certain level, as specified in the table Below, you thereafter always have the listed spells prepared. - **Free Casting.** You can cast one of your prepared spells from this feature without expending a Spell Slot, and you must finish a Long Rest before you use this benefit again. | Warlock Level | Spells | |:---:|:------------| | 1st | Burning Hands, Command | | 3rd | Blindness/Deafness, Scorching Ray | | 5th | Fireball, Stinking Cloud | | 7th | Fire Shield, Wall of Fire | | 9th | Flame Strike, Hallow | #### Dark One's Blessing Starting at **3rd level**, when you reduce a hostile creature to 0 hit points, you gain temporary hit points equal to your Charisma modifier + your warlock level (minimum of 1). #### Dark One's Own Luck Starting at **6th level**, you can call on your patron to alter fate in your favour. When you make an ability check or a saving throw, you can use this feature to add a d10 to your roll. You can do so after seeing the initial roll but before any of the roll's effects occur. Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a short or long rest. #### Fiendish Resilience Starting at **10th level**, you can choose one damage type when you finish a short or long rest. You gain resistance to that damage type until you choose a different one with this feature. Damage from magical weapons or silver weapons ignores this resistance. \page

#### Hurl Through Hell Starting at **14th level**, when you hit a creature with an attack, you can use this feature to instantly transport the target through the lower planes. The creature disappears and hurtles through a nightmare landscape. At the end of your next turn, the target returns to the space it previously occupied, or the nearest unoccupied space. If the target is not a fiend, it takes 10d10 psychic damage as it reels from its horrific experience. Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a long rest. ### The Great Old One Your patron is a mysterious entity whose nature is utterly foreign to the fabric of reality. It might come from the Far Realm, the space beyond reality, or it could be one of the elder gods known only in legends. Its motives are incomprehensible to mortals, and its knowledge so immense and ancient that even the greatest libraries pale in comparison to the vast secrets it holds. You don't need to share a language with the creature for it to understand your telepathic utterances, but the creature must be able to understand at least one language.

#### Third Eye Also at **3rd level**, an invisible third eye manifests on your forehead. This third eye allows you to add your Charisma modifier to any Wisdom (perception) or Wisdom (Insight) checks. Additionally, you also add your Charisma Modifier to your Passive Perception. #### Entropic Ward At **6th level**, you learn to magically ward yourself against attack and to turn an enemy's failed strike into good luck for yourself. When a creature makes an attack roll against you, you can use your reaction to impose disadvantage on that roll. If the attack misses you, your next attack roll against the creature has advantage if you make it before the end of your next turn. Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a short or long rest. #### Thought Shield Starting at **10th level**, your thoughts can't be read by telepathy or other means unless you allow it. You also have resistance to psychic damage, and whenever a creature deals psychic damage to you, that creature takes the same amount of damage that you do. #### Create Thrall At **14th level**, you gain the ability to infect a humanoid's mind with the alien magic of your patron. You can use your action to touch an incapacitated humanoid. That creature is then charmed by you until a Remove Curse spell is cast on it, the charmed condition is removed from it, or you use this feature again. You can communicate telepathically with the charmed creature as long as the two of you are on the same plane of existence. \page

As a bonus action, choose one creature you can see within 30 feet of you. The target is cursed for 1 minute. The curse ends early if the target dies, you die, or you are incapacitated. Until the curse ends, you gain the following benefits: ___ - **Damage.** You gain a bonus to damage rolls against the cursed target. The bonus equals your proficiency bonus. - **Attack.** Any attack roll you make against the cursed target is a critical hit on a roll of 19 or 20 on the d20. - **Siphon.** If the cursed target dies, you regain hit points equal to your warlock level + your Charisma modifier (minimum of 1 hit point). You can’t use this feature again until you finish a short or long rest. #### Umbral Veil Also at **3rd level**, you are protected by a wreath of shadow. You can take the hide action as a bonus action, and can hide when you are lightly obscured by dim light.

#### Accursed Shadow Starting at **6th level**, you can curse the soul of a creature you slay, temporarily binding it in your service. When you slay a creature whos creature type is not construct, celestial or undead, and whos CR is equal to or less than your warlock level, you can cause its spirit to rise from its corpse as a Shadow. When the Shadow appears, it gains temporary hit points equal to half your warlock level. The Shadow takes its turn immediately after yours, obeys your verbal commands, and it uses your spell attack bonus in place of its to-hit bonus (minimum of +0). The shadow remains in your service until the end of your next long rest, at which point it vanishes to the afterlife. Once you bind a shadow with this feature, you can't use the feature again until you finish a long rest. #### Armour of Darkness At **10th level**, your hex grows more powerful. If the target cursed by your Dark One's Curse hits you with an attack roll, roll a d6. On a 5 or 6, the attack instead misses you, regardless of its roll. #### Grim Master Starting at **14th level**, you can spread your Dark Ones Curse from a slain creature to another creature. When the creature cursed by your Dark Ones Curse dies, you can apply the curse to a different creature you can see within 30 feet of you, provided you aren't incapacitated. \page

#### Spellcasting As a student of arcane magic, you have learned to cast spells. See the Player’s Handbook for the rules on spellcasting. The information below details how you use those rules as a Wizard. ___ - **Armour.** You are not able to cast any Wizard spells while wearing Medium or Heavy armour. - **Cantrips.** You know a number of cantrips from the Wizard spell list equal to your Wizard Bonus. - **Spell Slots.** The Wizard table shows how many Spell Slots you have to cast your spells of 1st level and higher. To cast one of these spells, you must expend a slot of the spell’s level or higher. You regain all expended Spell Slots when you finish a Long Rest. - **Spellcasting Ability.** Intelligence is your spellcasting ability for the spells you cast with your Wizard features. \page

___ - **Spellcasting Focus.** You can use an Arcane Focus or your Spellbook as a Spellcasting Focus for the spells you cast with your Wizard features. - **Preparing and Casting Spells.** You can prepare a number of Wizard spells as shown for your level in the Spells Prepared Column of the Wizard table. The spells must be of an equal or lower level to half of your Wizard level (rounded up), up to 9th level spells, and from the Wizard Spell list. If another Wizard feature gives spells that you always have prepared, those spells don’t count against the number of spells on the list you prepare with this Spellcasting feature, but those spells otherwise follow the rules in this feature. The spells available for you to prepare must be within your Spellbook (see: Spellbook feature). - **Changing Prepared Spells.** When you finish a Long Rest, you may study your spellbook and memorise a new set of spells, allowing you to swap any of your prepared Wizard spells of 1st-Level or higher with another Wizard spell that is in your Spellbook. #### Spellbook At **1st level**, your Wizardly apprenticeship culminated in the creation of a unique book: your spellbook. It is a Tiny object that weighs 3 pounds, and it contains 100 pages, each of which can hold a spell. This magic book holds the wizardly spells you know, and it is a repository for your arcane findings. Writing in a magical cipher using the spell Scribe Spell, you have ensured that no one else can read the book without magic. The book is vital to your Spellcasting feature, as explained there. ___ - **Scribed Spells.** Your spellbook contains the spells you know of 1st level and higher. The minimum number of spells you can have within your spellbook is equal to Wizard level + your Intelligence modifier + the number shown for your level in the Prepared Spells Column of the Wizard table. To exceed this minimum, you might find other spells that you can add to your spellbook by expending 50 Gold Pieces per level of the spell you are copying, over the course of a number of hours equal to two times the level of the spell you are copying. Examples of sources from which you could copy a spell would include another wizards spellbook, or a spell scroll. - **Committed Spells.** As well as the Scribed Spells mentioned above, you have some spells commited to memory. Choose a school of Magic. From that school, choose two 1st level spells from either the Wizard, Warlock, or Sorcerer spell list. You always have those spells prepared, and do not need to have them in your spellbook. Additionally, you know one additional Wizard cantrips on top of the ones you learn from your Spellcasting feature, though it must be from your chosen school of magic. When you are able to prepare Wizard spells of a level higher than 1st, you gain two additional spells in the same manner which are of a spell level equal to half of your Wizard level (rounded up). You gain this benefit at every spell level up to 5th level, after which the spells are too complex to commit to memory. - **Ritual Caster.** You can cast any spell as a ritual if that spell has the Ritual tag and the spell is in your Spellbook. You needn’t have the spell prepared, but you must read from the book to cast a spell in this way. - **Creating Another Spellbook.** You can copy a spell from your own spellbook into another book—for example, if you want to make a backup copy of your spellbook. This is just like copying a new spell into your spellbook, but faster and easier, since you understand your own notation and already know how to cast the spell. You need spend only 1 hour and 10 gp for each level of the copied spell. If you lose your spellbook, you can use the same procedure to transcribe the spells that you have prepared and the spells belonging to your Known School into a new spellbook. Filling out the remainder of your spellbook requires you to find new spells to do so, as normal. For this reason, many wizards keep backup spellbooks in a safe place. - **The Book’s Appearance.** Your spellbook is a unique compilation of spells, with its own decorative flourishes and margin notes. It might be a plain, functional leather volume that you received as a gift from your master, a finely bound gilt-edged tome you found in an ancient library, or even a loose collection of notes scrounged together after you lost your previous spellbook in a mishap. #### Arcane Recovery When you reach **2nd level,** you have learned to regain some of your magical energy by studying your spellbook. When you finish a Short Rest, you can choose expended spell slots to recover. The spell slots can have a combined level that is equal to or less than half your Wizard level (rounded up), and none of the slots can be level 6 or higher. For example, if you’re a level 4 Wizard, you can recover up to two levels worth of spell slots, regaining either a level 2 spell slot or two level 1 spell slots. Once you use this feature, you can’t do so again until you finish a Long Rest. #### Arcane Tradition When you reach **3rd level**, you choose an arcane tradition, shaping your practice of magic through one of many traditions. Your choice grants you features at **3rd level** and again at **6th, 10th**, and **14th level**. #### Feat When you reach **4th level**, and again at **8th, 12th** and **16th level**, you gain the Ability Score Improvement feat or any other feat of your choice. #### Memorise Spell At **5th level**, Studying your spellbook for 10 minutes, you can expend mental and magical effort to memorize a spell. Choose one spell of level 1 or higher from your spellbook that you don’t have prepared. You now have that spell prepared until you use this feature to prepare a different spell. \page

#### Scholarly Study In your study of magic, you gain specialised knowledge in an academic field of study. At **7th level,** Choose one of the following skills in which you have proficiency: Arcana, History, Nature, or Religion. You have Expertise in the chosen skill. #### Spell Modification Using arcane formulas in your Spellbook, at **9th level**, you can magically alter one Wizard spell you have prepared. With your Spellbook on hand, choose a spell you have prepared. You can expend the spell slot required to cast that spell and cast it without prodicing the spells effects, with an additional 10 minutes added to the casting time. When you cast a spell this way, you can choose one of the following modifications, adding the modified spell to your list of prepared spells. ___ - **Components.** Remove one of the spell’s components: Verbal, Somatic, or Material. You can’t remove the Material component of a spell that consumes that component. - **Concentration.** If the spell requires Concentration, damage can’t break your Concentration on the spell. - **Damage Type.** If the spell has a damage type, replace it with one of the following types: Acid, Cold, Fire, Lightning, Necrotic, Poison, or Thunder. If the spell has multiple damage types, you can change only one of them. - **Range.** If the spell has a range of at least 5 feet and doesn’t have a range of Self, its range is multiplied by the spell slot level expended for this feature. For example, a spell with a range of 30 feet modified with a 3rd level slot gains a range of 90 feet. - **Ritual.** If the spell lacks the Ritual tag, has a casting time of at least 10 minutes, and lacks costly Material Components, you give it the Ritual tag. When you modify a spell this way, you can also change the spell’s colour, sound, and smell (though not removing these elements where they would be present). The chosen alteration lasts until you use this feature again or you finish a Long Rest. This altered version of the spell can’t be added to a spellbook. This modified spell counts as the same spell as the orginal from which it was modified for determining whether a creature is subject to the effects of the same feature from multiple sources. When you cast a spell this way, you can choose to expend a higher level slot to add additional modifications. If you expend a spell slot two levels higher than the original spell, you can add two modifications. For each additional two spell slot levels higher than that, you may add an additional modification.

#### Spellcrafting Beginning at **15th level**, you can begin to craft whole new spells of your own. When you use your Spell Modification feature, you can expend an amount of Gold equal to 1000 times the spell slot expended (or a combination or gold, platinum, gems, and expensive inks and paper of equal value) as well as a spell slot of 8th level or higher to commit the modified spell to memory. You always have it prepared, and it doesn't count against your total number of spells prepared. No creature other than yourself is able to cast your spell created this way. Using your Spell Modification feature again does not remove this spell from your prepared spells. If you use this feature again, you lose any spell you had previously created using this feature. #### Spell Mastery At **18th level**, you have achieved such mastery over certain spells that you can cast them at will. Choose a 1st-level and a 2nd-level spell that are in your spellbook and that do not have a casting time of 1 reaction. You always have those spells prepared, and you can cast them at their lowest level without expending a spell slot. If you want to cast either spell at a higher level, you must expend a spell slot as normal. Whenever you finish a Long Rest, you can study your spellbook and exchange one of those spells for another eligible spell of the same level from that book. #### Epic Boon At **19th level**, you gain a feat of your choice. If you choose so, this feat may be an Epic Boon as displayed in One D&D playtest. #### Signature Spells When you reach **20th level**, you gain mastery over two powerful spells and can cast them with little effort. Choose two 3rd-level spells in your spellbook as your signature spells. You always have these spells prepared, and you can cast each of them once at 3rd-level without expending a spell slot. When you do so, you can’t do so again until you finish a Short Rest or Long Rest. If you want to cast either spell at a higher level, you must expend a spell slot as normal. \page

### Evoker You focus your study on magic that creates powerful elemental effects such as bitter cold, searing flame, rolling thunder, crackling lightning, and burning acid. Some evokers find employment in military forces, serving as artillery to blast enemy armies from afar. Others use their spectacular power to protect the weak, while some seek their own gain as bandits, adventurers, or aspiring tyrants. #### Evocation Spells Beginning when you select this Tradition at **3rd level**, you gain two additional spells from any spell list. These spells are permanantly prepared for you, and you are unable to write them into your spellbook unless they are from the Wizard spell list. Your chosen spells must meet the following prerequisites: ___ - **School.** They must be from the Evocation school - **No Healing.** your choice of spells must not be capable of restoring hit points to any creature nor grant any creature other than yourself temporary hit points. Additionally, your choice of spell must not be able to restore life to a creature that has died. - **Spell Level.** These spells must be of a level equal to or lower than half of your Wizard level (rounded up), and may not exceed 5th level. You may not have more than 2 spells of the same level gained through this feature. At **5th, 7th,** and **9th level** in this class, you gain 2 additional spells this way, which must also follow the prerequisites as written above. #### Sculpt Spells Beginning at **3rd level**, you can create pockets of relative safety within the effects of your evocation spells. When you cast an evocation spell that affects other creatures that you can see, you can choose a number of them equal to 1 + the spell's level. The chosen creatures automatically succeed on their saving throws against the spell, and they take no damage if they would normally take half damage on a successful save. #### Potent Cantrip Starting at **6th level**, your damaging cantrips affect even creatures that avoid the brunt of the effect. When a creature succeeds on a saving throw against your cantrip, the creature takes half the cantrip's damage (if any) but suffers no additional effect from the cantrip. #### Empowered Evocation Beginning at **10th level**, you can add your Intelligence modifier (minimum of +1) to the damage roll of any wizard evocation spell that you cast. The damage bonus applies to one damage roll of a spell, not multiple rolls. #### Overchannel Starting at **14th level**, you can increase the power of your simpler spells. When you cast a wizard spell of 5th level or lower that deals damage and isn't a cantrip, you can deal maximum damage with that spell. The first time you do so, you suffer no adverse effect. If you use this feature again before you finish a long rest, you take 2d12 necrotic damage for each level of the spell, immediately after you cast it. Each time you use this feature again before finishing a long rest, the necrotic damage per spell Level increases by 1d12. This damage ignores resistance and immunity. ### Necromancer ___ The School of Necromancy explores the cosmic forces of life, death, and undeath. As you focus your studies in this tradition, you learn to manipulate the energy that animates all living things. As you progress, you learn to sap the life force from a creature as your magic destroys its body, transforming that vital energy into magical power you can manipulate. #### Undead Thralls at **3rd level,** you unlock the forbidden secrets to summoning an undead thrall. You can summon the bones and bodies of rot from below to your aid, or the spirits of the dead. These are your Shambling and Spectral Thralls, and their statics can be found below. As a bonus action, you summon one of these undead thralls to your aid at a point you choose within 30 feet of you. The summoned creature shares your initiative and acts immediately after you. The creature only takes the dodge action, unless you use your bonus action to command it to move and use its action in some other way. you can summon an Undead Thrall this way twice, and regain expended uses when you finish a short or long rest, unless you expand a spell slot of 2nd-level or higher to use it again. If you use this feature while an undead thrall is already summoned, your oldest undead thrall instantly dies. #### Grim Harvest At **3rd level**, as a reaction when a creature within 60 feet of you dies, regain 1d6 hit points. If you have dealt damage to it since the beginning of your previous turn, instead regain 2d6 hit points. If what kills the creature is one of your Necromancy spells or a creature you have summoned, you instead regain 3d6 hit points. You can’t use this reaction in response to a construct or undead dying. #### Greater Thrall At **6th level,** Your thralls gain the following features, as are listed in their stat block: ___ - **Twinned Spirit.** for your Spectral Thrall - **Multiattack.** for your Shambling Thrall. #### Wrath of Necrosis Also at **6th level**, When you cast a Necromancy spell and it deals damage to at least 1 creature, choose one creature you dealt damage to with that spell. That creature takes additional Necrotic Damage equal to your Intelligence Modifier. Additionally, when you regain hit points via your Grim harvest feature, add your Intelligence Modifier to the hit points you regain. \page

#### Inured to Undeath Beginning at **10th level**, you gain resistance to necrotic damage, and age half as quickly. You no longer need to breathe, eat, or drink. You also cannot have your maximum hit points by any means. Additionally, any undead you summon with your Undead Thralls feature or through a Spell have proficiency in all Saving Throws, and you have advantage on Death Saving Throws. #### Undying Entity You have mastered the undead art of dividing the spirt and body from each other and also the mind. At **14th level,** you can enter a temporary state of undeath where you manifest the power of all these aspects. As an action, you gramt ypirse;f the following benefits for 10 minutes: ___ - **Truly Undead.** Your creature type becomes Undead for the duration if it is not already. - **Incorporeal Passage.** You gain a flying speed equal to your movement, and you can hover. You can move through other creatures and objects as if they were difficult terrain. If you end your turn inside an object, you are shunted to the nearest unoccupied space and takes 1d10 force damage for every 5 feet traveled. - **Undead Fortitude.** If damage reduces you to 0 hit points, you must make a Constitution saving throw with a DC of 5 + the damage taken, unless the damage is radiant or from a critical hit. On a success, you drops to 1 hit point instead. Each subsequent time you use this feature, add an additional 5 to the DC of your saving throw before applying the damage taken to the DC. - **Master Summoner.** When you use your bonus action to summon an Undead Thrall, you summon both a Spectral Thrall and a Shambling Thrall. ## Class Features As an artificer, you gain the following class features. #### Equipment As a **1st-level** character, you start with the following equipment, or you can forgo it and spend 150 GP on equipment of your choice. ___ - Crossbow Bolts (20), Dagger, Dungeoneer's Pack, Light Crossbow, Mace, Scale Mail, Tinker's Tools, any two set's of Artisan's Tools, and 22GP. #### Tinkerer's Magic ___ - ***Replaces Magical Tinkering.*** At **1st level**, you learn how to invest a spark of magic in objects that would otherwise be mundane. To use this ability, you must have thieves’ tools, tinker’s tools, or other artisan’s tools in hand. When you finish a short or long rest, you can infuse one of the following cantrips into a Tiny, non-magical object: Light, Minor Illusion, or Prestidigitation. One of the effects which these spells can produce is produced with your object as the target, and the effects last for 24 hours or until you use this ability again. Additionally, you have one of these ___ Additionally, when you reach an Artificer level specified in the Artificer Spells table, you thereafter always have the listed spells prepared. In addition, you can cast one spell of each level from those prepared by this feature of your prepared spells from this feature without expending a spell slot. After you gain the Wonderous Infusions feature at **2nd level**, you can also use any item bearing one of your infusions as a spellcasting focus. ___ - **Cantrips.** You know a number of cantrips equal to your Artificer Bonus from the Bard spell list. - **Preparing Spells.** You can prepare a number of Artificer spells as shown for your level in the Spells Prepared column of the Artificer class table. The spells must be of a spell level equal to or lower than ¼ of your Artificer, rounded up. If another Artificer feature gives spells that you always have prepared, those spells don’t count against the number of spells on the list you prepare with this Spellcasting feature, but those spells otherwise follow the rules in this feature. - **Spellcasting Ability.** Intelligence is your spellcasting ability for your artificer spells; your understanding of the theory behind magic allows you to wield these spells with superior skill. You use your Intelligence whenever an artificer spell refers to your spellcasting ability. In addition, you use your Intelligence modifier when setting the saving throw DC for an artificer spell you cast and when making an attack roll with one. #### Wonderous Infusions ___ At **2nd level**, you gain the ability to imbue mundane items with certain magical infusions. The magic items you create with this feature are effectively prototypes of permanent items. ___ - **Infusions Known.** When you gain this feature, choose a number of infusions from the Artificer Infusions sections at the end of this class equal to twice your Artificer Bonus, as shown in the Artificer Table. You know how to apply all of your chosen Infusions to applicable, mundane items. As you gain levels in this class, the number of Infusions you know increases with your Artificer Bonus. Whenever you gain a level in this class, you can replace one of the Infusions you have chosen with a different Infusion for which you qualify. ***The rest of this feature works identically to the existing Infuse Item feature.*** #### Artificer Specialist ___ At **3rd level**, you choose the type of specialisation you pursue. Your choice grants you features at **3rd level** and again at **6th**, **10th** and **14th level**. > ##### Remapping Existing Subclasses >___ > 5th level features move to 6th level; 9th level features move to 10th level; 15th level features move to 14th level. #### Tool Expertise ___ Starting at **5th level**, if you have proficiency with a tool, you gain expertise with that tool. As usual, any proficiency with a skill check made with your tools grants your Tool Ability Check advantage. #### Flash of Genius ___ Instead of having a number of uses equal to your Intelligence Modifier, you have a number of uses equal to your Artificer Bonus #### Bonus Infusions at **13th level**, you learn two additional Artificer Infusions, and can have one additional Infusion active at a time. Your choice of learned and active infusions otherwise must follow the rules as detailed in your Wonderous Infusions feature. At **17th level**, this increases to four additional Infusions Known, and two additional active infusions. \page #### Epic Boon At **19th level**, you gain a feat. If you choose so, this choice of feat may be an Epic Boon. ## Existing Subclasses Again, SRD issues, so only sharing a changelog. ### Alchemist #### Experimental Elixir Beginning at **3rd level**, whenever you finish a short or long rest, you can magically produce a number of Experimental Elixirs equal to your Artificer Bonus. When you create your elixirs, roll on the Experimental Elixir table seperately to determine each elixir's effect, which is triggered when someone drinks the elixir. A creature can drink the elixir as a bonus action, or administer it to an incapacitated creature as an action. Creating an experimental elixir requires you to have alchemist supplies on your person, and any elixir you create with this feature lasts until it is drunk or until the end of your next short or long rest. You can create additional experimental elixirs by expending a spell slot of 1st Level or higher. The number of elixirs created is equal to the level of the spell slot expended. ### Demolitionist A demolitionist often sees the world around them as a pillar of marble that needs chipping away at to reveal the masterwork beneath. If a door needs opening, a demolitionist can open it one way or another, and if there is no door, they are helpful in creating new ones. #### Demolitionist Spells Starting at **3rd level**, you always have certain spells prepared after you reach particular levels in this subclass, as shown in the Demolitionist Spells Table. Each creature within 5 feet must succeed on a Dexterity saving throw against your spell save DC or take 1d8 fire damage, and piercing damage equal to your Intelligence modifier. An object that isn't being worn or carried within the affected area automatically takes that damage. The fire damage from this ability increases by 1d6 at **5th level**, and again at **11th** and **17th level.** - **Explosive Putty.** As a bonus action, you can lay a sticky putty one inch wide and 5 feet long. On subsequent turns, you can lay additional lines of explosive putty like this. As an action, you can detonate any number of your active explosive putty lines within 60 feet of you simultaneously. They deal 2d8 thunder damage to any creature occupying the same 5-foot cube space as the explosive putty. The explosive putty deals twice as much damage against objects, structures, and constructs. Any explosive putty that has been laid and not detonated within an hour becomes unusable. You have a maximum number of these lines of explosive putty equal to your proficiency bonus, and can replenish your expended supply as part of a long rest, or by expending a spell slot of 1st level or higher. \page #### Sticky Bombs At **6th level**, when you throw your bomb, you can choose to make a ranged spell attack against a creature. If it hits, the bomb sticks to the target, and the bomb detonates centred on them. That target automatically fails the dexterity saving throw imposed by the bomb. Additionally, when a creature succeeds the dexterity saving throw imposed by your bomb, they take half damage. #### The Big Kaboom At **10th level,** the radius of your Bomb increases from 5-feet to 10-feet. Additionally, if you hit a target using your sticky bombs feature, you can roll the damage die a second time and choose which of the results damages that target. #### Repulsion Also at **10th level**, when you cast a spell or use a class feature which effects an area, such as fireball or your Bomb feature, you can choose to have each creature inside of the affected radius make a Strength saving throw after being affected by the spell or class feature. If the target fails the strength save, they are forced out of the radius of the feature affecting them in a straight line away from the centre. If this forces the creature to collide with an enviromental feature larger than them, such as a tree or a wall, they 2d10 take bludgeoning damage. #### Blast Shield At **14th level**, your practice with detonating devestation against vast areas has prepared you with countermeasures. When you are forced to make a saving throw due to an ability or spell which affects an area, you can use your reaction to grant yourself three-quarters cover. You can use this ability a number of times equal to your Artificer Bonus. Additinally, if you succeed a strength, dexterity, or constitution saving throw that would make you take half damage, you instead take no damage. ### Biomancer Nearly all the innovation and advancement in Simic bio-engineering comes from the work of biomancers. Specialists in hybridizing and altering creatures through a mixture of science and magic, they have spawned countelss hybrids and krasis in search of the perfect union between nature and civilisation. #### Biomancer Spells Starting at **3rd level**, you always have certain spells prepared after you reach particular levels in this class, as shown in the Biomancer Spells table. You also gain a set of alchemist’s supplies and a set of Leatherworker's tools for free—the result of tinkering you've done as you've prepared for this specialization. #### Natural Selection At **3rd level**, you can designate one to be a conduit of your magic, and subject for your experimental flesh wrending. If you have your leatherworker or alchemist supplies with you, you can perform a 1 hour ritual, which can be done as part of a short or long rest, in which you can designate a willing creature as your Living Conduit. You can cast artificer spells from your living conduit as if you were occupying the space they occupy. You must still satisfy all other prerequisites of a spell, such as sight of the target. To cast spells through your Living Conduit Additionally, you transmute yourself or your living conduit to gain one of the following features: ___ - **Acidic Glands.** As a bonus action, the living conduit can spray acid from glands in their mouth, targeting one creature or object you can see within 30 feet of you. The target takes 2d8 acid damage unless it succeeds on a Dexterity saving throw. - **Aquatic Adaptation.** Your living conduit can hold their breath underwater for 15 minutes at a time and gains a swimming speed of 30 feet. - **Carapace.** Your living conduit gains an exoskeleton. They gain a +1 bonus to their Armour Class if they are not wearing heavy armour. - **Crushing Appendages.** The living conduit add two special appendages growing alongside their arms. Choose whether they're both claws or tentacles. The living conduit can attack a creature with their appendages using their bonus action. They make a melee spell attack using your spell attack modifier. If it hits, the target takes bludgeoning or slashing damage equal to 1d8 + your Intelligence modifier. These appendages can't precisely manipulate anything and can't wield weapons, magic items, or other specialized equipment. - **Manic Cognition.** Your living conduits senses and intellect are heightened by an eldritch elixir. They gain advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks either any 1 Intelligence or Wisdom skill check of your choice, or Initiative rolls (your choice). - **Minor Shapeshifting.** You grant your living conduit enough shapeshifting to appear and sound like an altered or prefered version of themselves. They gain advantage on all charisma checks. - **Protective Tendrils.** Writhing tendrils sprout from the body of your living conduit and shamble about them aggressively. If they take damage, they can use their reaction to reduce the damage taken by 1d6 + your artificer level. \page

#### Endless Forms Most Beautiful At **6th level**, you refine your surgical techniques, allowing you to cast alter self without expending a spell slot as a bonus action, provided you use leatherworker tools as the spellcasting focus. You can do so a number of times per day equal to your Artificer Bonus. You do not need to concentrate on the spell, and you can target a willing creature you can touch with it. Additionally, when you cast an artificer spell with your leatherworker tools or via your living conduit which either deals damage or grants healing, you can add your Intelligence modifier to one of the dice rolled as part of the spell. #### Restoration and Rending Starting at **10th level**, you can gain advanced knowledge of fleshcrafting, shaping creatures to fit your ends: ___ - **Conduit Maintanence.** Whenever you cast a spell of 1st level of higher through your living focus, you Living Conduit gains temporary hit points equal to 2d6 + your Intelligence modifier (minimum of 1 temporary hit point). These temporary hit points fade after 10 minutes. - **Restore Life.** If your living focus makes a Death Saving throw, you can use your reaction to roll any number of hit dice you have not expended. Your Living Conduit gains hit points equal to the number rolled. Once you have healed your Living Conduit this way, you cannot do so again until you finish a long rest. #### Biological Mastery By **14th level**, you have manipulated and altered your body so often that your changes become persistent, and you can resist unwanted changes. You can assign 2 creatures as your living conduit; you and your living conduits gain two features from your Natural Selection feature. You gain advantage on saving throws against spells that would inflict blindness, deafness, or from the transmutation school of magic.

### Counterfeiter The greatest weapon against an enemy is the fallout of their doubt. A counterfieter uses their tools to make the enemy believe they are one of them, and then using their own tactics against them. Adapting to whatever group they find themselves infiltrating, a counterfieter will often find themselves more valuable than the real deal. #### Counterfeit Spells Starting at **3rd level**, you always have certain spells prepared after you reach particular levels in this subclass, as shown in the Counterfeit Spells Table. You can use this ability to impose disadvantage on a creatures attack roll, saving throw or ability check. You can use this ability a number of times equal to your Artificer Bonus, and regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest, or one expended use when you finish a short rest. #### Infiltrator At **6th level**, you are a master of infiltration. With your disguise kit on hand, you can cast Disguise Self on yourself at will. When you cast this spell this way, you can also change your voice in any way you wish, any any cosmetic changes you make to yourself hold up to physical inspection and are tangible. \page #### Spurious Scroll Also at **10th level**, Your phenomenal skill of forgery allows you to create makeshift scrolls. Any investigation of spell scrolls created with this ability reveal them to be clear fakes, with a mix and match of various magical scripts. When you finish a long rest and have a forgery kit on hand, you can create a spell scroll that contains a spell from any class spell list, which can be used by any creature with an intelligence score higher of 6 or higher as if it were on a spell list that they know. The spell must be of a spell level for which you are able to prepare spells, and cannot have material components with an attached gold cost greater than 1 GP. The scroll does not contain innate magic, and a spell slot equal to the level of the spell stored on the scroll must be expended to use the scroll. A creature can expend the required spell slot while the scroll is in their hand without casting the spell immediately. When they do so, the scroll must be used to cast the spell within 1 hour, otherwise the spell slot stored in the scroll is wasted, and another must be expended to use the scroll. If the scroll is more than 150 feet away from you for longer than a minute, the scroll seizes to lose all writing on it and cannot be used to cast the spell stored on it. If a creature other than yourself uses the scroll to cast the spell stored in the scroll, they use your spellcasting ability for the casting of the spell. Once the spell has been cast with the scroll, the ink on the page vanishes, and the scroll cannot be used again until you imbue it with a spell again after finishing a long rest.

#### Arcane Imitation At **14th level**, you can imitate the skills and abilities you see in action. From the list of options bellow, you can choose to replicate an ability you see used within 30 feet of you, expending a spell slot of 4th level or higher and using your reaction to do so. You lose your ability to replicate the ability gained with this feature after 1 hour has passed, after you have used the ability you had gained with this feature, or if you expend another spell slot of 4th level or higher to replicate a different ability. ___ - **Skill Checks & Saving Throws.** If the ability being replicated was a saving throw or skill check, you can use your reaction to replace your skill check or saving throw result with the total number the target had achieved. You can use this ability to replace any ability check or saving throw you make which uses the same base ability score the target had used when initially used this feature. For example, if the target rolled a total of a 21 on a dexterity saving throw, you can use this ability to replace any Dexterity saving throw or ability check you make with a result of 21. ___ - **Attacks.** If the ability being replicated is from an attack roll, you must still make the attack roll as normal, and you use your spell attack bonus to make the attack roll. The damage you deal is the same as the weapon or ability the target used to attack. If you do not have the weapon they used on hand, or if it is a natural weapon, you create an ethereal version of that weapon as part of the attack roll. Any bonus damage that the target would have gained from their original attack, such as a paladins divine smite damage, you also add to your attack roll. If the target had scored a critical hit, the damage you deal is equal to as if the target had not scored a critical hit, unless you also score a critical hit. - **Spells.** If the ability being replicated is a spell, it cannot be a spell of a higher level than you are able to cast, but you do not consume a spell slot to cast the spell. The spell cannot be one with material components which have an attached gold cost greater than 1 gold piece. You use your Intelligence when determining the spell save DC or the attack bonus. \page ### Locksmith Locksmiths are keepers of secrets; with a lockpick in hand, no room or treasure horde can be kept from them, and where secrets are kept, they keenly unravel them with the assistance of their wind-up mechanical companions. #### Locksmith's Spells At **3rd level**, you always have certain spells prepared after you reach particular levels in this class, as shown in the Locksmith Spells table. With your thieves' tools on hand, you can create a magical box with a keyhole on it, which you hold the key to, or can open with your thieves' tools. Either way, a bonus action is required to open this box. When you open this box, a number of tiny Clockwork Drones spill out from the box equal to your proficiency bonus. In combat, the drones share your initiative count, but they take their turn immediately after yours. They can move and use their reaction on their own, but the only action they take on their turn is the Dodge action, unless you take a bonus action on your turn to command it to take another action. This bonus action can be the same one made to release them from their box. That action can be one in its stat block or some other action. If you are incapacitated, the defender can take any action of its choice, not just Dodge. When summoned, a Clockwork Drone remains active for 10 minutes or until destroyed. If not destroyed, it deconstructs into its component parts at the start of your next turn, which fizzle out and reappear back in their summoning box. If the mending spell is cast on a clockwork drone, it regains 2d6 hit points. Hit: 1d4 + PB piercing damage. > - **Lock Touch.** When the Clockwork Drone touches a non-magical locked object or barrier, the locking mechanism unlocks and is removed, allowing easy passage. If a suitable locking mechanism is available, the Clockwork Drone can also lock an object or barrier using this ability. Using this ability produces a loud snapping noise, clearly audible out to a range of 100 feet. > #### Reaction >___ > - **Tick-Tick-Boom.** After a Clockwork Drone takes damage, it can use its reaction to explode into a glittering of its component parts. Any creature within 5 feet of it must make a Dexterity saving throw against your spell save DC. A creature takes 2d8 force damage on a failed save, or half as much on a successful save. #### Arcane Entry At **6th level**, you can treat magical locks as if they were mundane locks. Additionally, you can ignore prerequisites relating to ancestry and class for magical items. \page

#### Unlocked Secrets At **10th level**, You gain the following features: ___ - **Compelled Confession.** When you ask a creature a question and they begin to speak, you can use your reaction to influence their speech, forcing them to speak truthfully and answer your question directly. - **Revealed Access.** You gain a sixth sense for hidden enterances and gateways. As an action, you can reveal to yourself all paths and corridors within 30 feet of you. This ability highlights paths obvious, such as paved bath you are on, as well as hidden, such as those for secret doors or hidden pit traps. You can use each of these abilities a number of times equal to your artificer Bonus, and regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest. #### Locked-In At **14th level**, When a creature within 30 feet of you hits a creature with a melee attack, you can use your reaction to make the attacking creature make a Charisma saving throw. on a failed save, the creature is restrained until the start of their next turn. Additionally, for one minute after being affected by this feature, a creatures speed is halved. At the start of each of its turns, an affected creature can make another charisma saving throw, ending the effect on it on a success. You can use this ability a number of times equal to your artificer Bonus, and regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest. ### Lapidarist An artificer who specializes as a lapidarist stores spells in gems and jewels, which have inherent arcane potential baked into them over thousands of years in the furnace of the ground beneath our feet. A lapidarist focuses their magic through and within these jewels, amplifying the power of said magic and granting them to ability to share magic with others or take it from them. #### Lapidarist's Spells At **3rd level**, you always have certain spells prepared after you reach particular levels in this class, as shown in the Lapidarist Spells table. You also gain one small jem, worth 15GP, which you can use as a spellcasting focus. #### Bejeweled Magic Also at **3rd level** you have learned how to bring the magical properties out of many jewels and gems. Whenever you finish a long rest, you can magically store a spell of your choice that you can cast and is of a spell level equal to or less than half your proficiency bonus (rounded down) in a mundane gem or jewel you touch. To store a spell you must provide the required components as usual. You can fill additional gems or jewels in the same way but you must expend the necessary spell slot, and they can be of any spell slot level that you can cast. A creature can cast a stored spell using the required casting time of the spell, but doesn't need to provide the components. Using your DC and attack modifier. Once a stored spell is cast the Jewel is no longer filled and can be filled as normal. Additionally if you cast a stored spell that requires a jewel or gem with as a material component, you may use the jewel that was used to store the spell for that component. Storing a spell in a jewel requires you to have jeweler's tools on your person, and any spell you store with this feature lasts until it is cast or until the end of your next long rest. #### Wealth of Power Starting at **6th level**, you continue draw on the power of gems to You gain the following benefits: - When casting an artificer cantrip, you gain a +1 bonus to attack rolls, your spell save DC, and any ability check required of you or the target of your spell as described within any artificer spell, unless your spellcasting focus grants a higher bonus. This bonus increases when you reach certain levels in this class, increasing to +2 at **11th level** and +3 at **17th level**. - As an action, you can cast a spell that you don't have prepared from your artificer list. Once you have used this ability, you can't do so again until you finish a long rest. #### Arcane Affluence Starting at **10th level**, when you cast an artificer spell with material components, you can choose to ignore the material cost of that spell, even if it usually consumed by the spell. Once you use this feature, you can’t use it again until you finish a short or a long rest. #### Blood Diamond You learn to trap a piece of a creature's soul when it dies. At **14th level**, when a creature dies within 30ft of you, you can use a reaction to consume the creatures soul and gain an additional spell slot of a level equal to the highest level you can cast or your Intelligence modifier, whichever is lower. If this spell slot is not used by the end of your next long rest, it is lost. Once you use this feature, you can’t use it again until you finish a long rest. \page ### Wayfinder A Wayfinder specializes not only with exploring the physical world, but the leylines of innate magical energy that flow through it. They use their knowledge of physical and arcane geography to power their artifice. #### Wayfinder Spells Starting at **3rd level**, you always have certain spells prepared after you reach particular levels in this class, as shown in the Wayfinder Spells table. You do so by constructing waystones. With cartographer's tools in hand, you can take a bonus action to create a waystone in an unoccupied space on the ground within 5 feet of you. A waystone is a small object with AC 15 and 20 hit points, and weighs 40 lbs. It has a speed of 0, and remains until destroyed. A mending spell cast on it grants it 2d6 hit points. For a waystone to be effective, you can hold it in a free hand or plant it on a solid surface. You begin with the ability to create two waystones, whose descriptions are detailed below. You learn to create additional waystones as you gain levels in this class. ___ - **Waypoint.** While you are on the same plane as this waystone, you always know your distance and the direction to it. - **Waystone of Protection.** While you or any creature you designate is within 30 feet of this waystone, they have shelter from mundane weather conditions and advantage on saving throws against environmental effects such as extreme heat or lightning strikes. Additionally, that creature temporary hit points equal to your Intelligence modifier + your proficiency bonus at the start of each of their turns. You can create a number of waystones equal to your Artificer Bonus, and regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest. You can have a number of active waystones equal to your Artificer Bonus. You can regain half of your expended uses of this feature early by expending a spell slot of 1st level or higher.

#### Wayward Fortification Starting at **6th level** you learn to create the following waystone: **Lodestone of Power.** While you are within 30 feet of this waystone, your attacks deal an additional 1d8 force damage. If you hit a target that is also within 30 feet of this waystone, you may push the target up to 10 feet in any direction. Additionally, you can create and have active a number Waypoints equal to your Intelligence modifier, without them counting towards your total number of Waystones active. If Waypoints beyond this limited are created, the oldest one is destroyed. #### Triangulation Starting at **10th level**, as an action, you can cast Clairvoyance as an Artificer spell without expending a spell slot or material components. You must target one of your Waypoints with this spell. Once you cast this spell in this way, you must finish a long rest before you can cast it again. In addition, you learn to create the following waystone: ___ - **Celerity Beacon.** While you or any creature you designate is within 60 feet of this waystone, their speed increases by 10 feet, their jump distance triples, and they have advantage on Strength and Dexterity checks and saving throws. #### Coordinate System Starting at **14th level**, as an action, you can cast Teleportation Circle as an Artificer spell without expending a spell slot or material components. When you cast this spell, you can target one of your Waypoints instead of a Permanent Teleportation Circle. Once you cast this spell in this way, you must finish a long rest before you can cast it again. When you are at one of your Waystones, you can touch the waystone and hold it for a minute, after which you and all creatures within 10 feet of you are transported to a different waypoint of your choice which you created. Additionally, whenever an ally of yours makes an opportunity attack against a creature within 30 feet of one of your Waypoints or Waystones of Power, they deal an additional 1d8 force damage.
