# The Bone Warrior There are those who believe that bones are the strongest of the body parts, giving flesh its form. These individuals learn how to harness the power of their own bones, using them as protection as well as weapons. Some older bone warriors even learn to extract power from the bones of foes.
*"The flesh gets its shape and strength from the bones beneath."* -Sisiutl #### Bone Ward Beginning when you choose this archetype at 3rd level, you can spend an action to surround yourself with a barrier of whirling bones. You expend a number of Hit Die up to your proficiency bonus and gain temporary hit points equal to twice the roll. When you take damage from a creature that is witin 5 feet of you and you have temporary hit points from this feature, a bone shatters and shards are shot at the attacker dealing 1d6 piercing damage. This ability lasts 1 minute. As a bonus action you may lose 1 temporary hit point and grab one of the bones and shape it into a single melee weapon or shield. This weapon or shield lasts for 1 minute after you create it. You are proficient with this weapon while you wield it. You may have a maximum of two items made of bone at a time. Any weapon created this way counts as magical for the purpose of overcoming resistance and immunity to nonmagical attacks and damage. You can use this ability once and regain its use when you finish a short or long rest. #### Exoskeleton Also at 3rd level, if you are not wearing armor, you may grow and form your bones into an exoskeleton. Your armor class becomes 10 + your Dexterity modifier + your Constitution modifier. Choose one from: acid, cold, fire, lightning, poison, or thunder and gain resistance to that damage type so long as you are unarmored. At 15th level and again at 18th you choose an additional damage type and gain resistance to that damage type so long as you wear your exoskeleton. An exoskeleton lasts until the end of a long rest or you decide to shed it. At any time, you may use a bonus action to shed your exoskeleton. If you have Bone Ward active at the time you shed the exoskeleton, reset the duration of Bone Ward to 1 minute. If your Bone Ward is not active, you may immediately activate it without consuming a use. It takes 10 minutes to grow an exoskeleton, during which time you are Incapacitated. #### Talking Skull Starting at 7th level, you are able to cast *Speak with Dead* as a ritual that takes 10 minutes without providing the material components.

\page #### Marrow Rend Starting at 10th level, you know how to strike down your enemies and drain the marrow from their bones. Whenever you reduce a creature to 0 hit points with a melee attack and your Bone Ward is active, you gain 1d10 temporary hit points. These temporary hit points stack with any temporary hit points you may already have from your Bone Ward. The duration of Bone Ward is also reset to 1 minute. You cannot use this against constructs, elementals, plants, or oozes. You must take a short or long rest before using this ability again. #### Spinal Tap At 15th level, you gain the ability to extend your spine out your back, giving yourself a skeletal tentacle. Once per short rest you can take an action and extend your tentacle. The tentacle remains extended for up to 1 minute. You may use it to make a single melee weapon attack as a bonus action whenever you take the Attack action. The tentacle deals 1d10 piercing damage on a successful hit. The tentacle is treated as magic for purposes of overcoming resistances and immunity from non-magical attacks and damage. In addition, choose one of the following abilities that the tentacle possesses. The chosen ability cannot be changed later. Choose an additional ability at 18th level. **Acid Tip.** You grow a special sac in you abdomen and the tentacle now deals an additional 1d6 acid damage. Any creature struck must make a Constitution saving throw (DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Constituion modifier) or have their armor class reduced by 1 for 1 minute. Multiple armor class reductions do not stack. **Double Tap.** The tentacle splits into two slightly smaller tentacles. Each tentacle deals 1d8 piercing damage. You may attack with both tails using your bonus action attack, making a seperate attack roll for each tail. **Poison Tip.** You grow a special poison sac in you abdomen and the tentacle now deals an additional 1d10 poison damage. Any creature struck must make a Constitution saving throw (DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + Constituion modifier) or become poisoned for 1 minute. **Elongated.** The tentacle is extra long gaining the reach property. **Permanent Tentacle.** Your tentacle is now permanent and you do not need to take an action to extend it. This may be hidden under clothing with a successful Slieght of Hand check. **Precise Tentacle.** Your tentacle gains the Finesse weapon trait and becomes prehensile. #### Bone Mastery Beginning at 18th level, you are now a master of not just your own bones, but those of others. By moving your own bones, you cover your more vulnerable spots. Whenever you are hit by a critical hit, you may use your reaction to reduce that hit to a normal hit. In addition, you are able to cast *danse macabre* once. Each raised undead creature is a ghoul.
