### Word of Atmosphere / Air

We are everywhere. We cover everything. We are everpresent. We are a tide of air, waves of water vapor on the move, rolling endlessly above all, forever washing over the world below. We have long been taken for granted, unrecognized for our role in the world. We have always been here, protecting the infant world during its very creation. Somedays we are content to go forgotten and unnoticed, a pleasantly refreshing breeze, but we nevertheless remain in contact with everything, ever vigilant against the void of endless night which surrounds our world. Some days we carry seeds and wildlife, other days we carry fire and plague. Often our motives seem unfathomable, but one thing is clear. When we are angered, and we choose to bring the full force of our 5.5 quadrillion ton mass on one spot, swirling with an intensity driven by primal forces, woe be the fool who stood his ground, rather than seeking shelter. Godbound of the *Word of Atmopsphere* Have no need to breathe and falling will never harm them. They and their companions will never be negatively effected by weather. The Godbound always controls the movement of the air nearby, creating winds of up-to gale force wherever they go. These gusts can make mundane archery impossible, hinder movement, disturb small objects and debris, but are not generally capable of doing physical harm. This wind control extends to 1 mile away from the Godbound per level, and requires no effort. ``` ``` ### Lesser Gifts #### The Fog is Rising - On Turn **Commit Effort**: A mist rises, shrouding a target/location of your choice and everything within 100'. You and your allies can see through this fog, but others with normal senses can see no further than five feet around them. These clouds are able to douse any mundane fire and allow every ally within it to ignore the first 5 points of fire damage they take each round, should you wish. #### The World Lies Beneath - On Turn **Commit Effort**: The Godbound can fly at twice their usual movement rate. If undistracted and able to fly in a straight line, they can reach speeds of up to 100 miles an hour. #### The Final Gasp - On turn **Commit Effort**: Wield the Air around your foes as a weapon, drawing the air forcibly from their lungs or filling them to the point of bursting. This can be used to attack for 1d10 magical damage at a range of 200'. Anyone who takes 4 damage from a single attack must make a hardiness save or be knocked unconscious. This attack will not effect those who don't breath. \page #### Cloudbursting - Action **Commit Effort**: Manipulate the moisture and temperature within 1 mile per level. The Godbound can summon up rainstorms, thermals of hot dry air, stagnant sticky humidity, or drop temperatures to create snow or hail. Temperatures can range from -25C to 50C. The changes occur instantly and last as long as Effort remains committed. When released, the weather rapidly returns to its normal condition. **If Effort for the day** is expended, the area becomes subjected to an unparalleled "weather event" with a monsoon style deluge, hail storm, or blizzard dumping a year's worth of precipitation over the course of a single day. This is capable of flooding lands, destroying property, devastating crops, and threatening the lives of any left without shelter from the elements. #### Tempermental Oxygen - Action **Commit Effort** Increase the size of any fire within 1 mile per level by feeding it with oxygen. The fire grows and increases in heat and quickly becomes uncontrollable if there are combustables nearby. For as long as effort is committed, this fire is impossible to put out by normal means, and will burn at a heat capable of melting most metals. It will spread quickly, especially if aided by wind, and consume any burnable materials in its path. **Commit Effort for the Day**: You purify the air around you, causing all allies who are in your presence to find themselves, refreshed, regaining vigor as the air around them becomes saturated with oxygen. The effect grants them all the Godbound's level in healing. This refreshes and sates those effected, as if they'd had a good night's sleep and a full meal. Unlike most healing effects, recipients need not commit Effort to benefit from this blessing. #### Vigilance against the Void - Constant You are always aware of the presence of creatures of Uncreated Night within 1 mile per level. You can sense their general direction, but you know no details about them. In addition, the Godbound can expend an **effort for the scene** as an instant action to hold back the darkness, interupting and negating an attack or effect done to a single target by a creature of Uncreated Night. This ability cannot be used against the same effect multiple times in the same scene, but it *may* work against certain otherworldly creatures or effects of black magic. ### Greater Gifts #### Durable Exosphere - Constant You are aware of any attempt to open a Night Road anywhere within 1 mile per level of your location. You may, as an instant action, **Commit effort for the day** to prevent that Night Road from opening. You can also use this effect to close an existing Night Road you are aware of within the same radius. You may not use this gift as a miracle. ``` ``` #### The Skies are my Fingers - Constant The Godbound senses air movements within 1 mile per level, sensing any action that disturbs the air in this area. The more violent actions tend to stand out. The clash of weapons, construction, loud shouting, movement of armies and horses are all easy to spot, as are any sort of fires which create updrafts. This "tactile" extension is sensitive enough to distinguish between a deer fleeing and the tiger chasing it, but can't determine identities, and cannot be used to listen to conversations, which generally don't move enough air to stand out from the "noise". #### The Weight of the Heavens - Action **Commit Effort for the Scene** Focus the pressure of the air to crush your enemies. The air increases in density, bearing down on a circular area up to 10' across per level. Stone Buildings and large trees can stand under the burden, but lesser structures quickly succumb to pressures over 50 tons. Every target within the area is crushed for a number of points of damage equal to your level. For the rest of the scene, you may use your fray die against everyone in this area each round. Those struck by this field are incapable of taking the move action. Worthy foes may take an action on their turn to make a Strength check, escaping the area on a success. #### Settlers' Bane - Action **Commit Effort for the Day** and summon a Tornado. It forms within seconds and obeys your every command, a vast mob which takes its turn at the end of each round of combat. It can be attacked by normal effects, though it resists many forms of damage. The whirlwind hits all targets it contacts, automatically dealing 1d6 damage three times to all within. Any victims of this effect treat any of their attack rolls made against the Tornado during their next turn as automatic hits.
