These warriors are very welcoming to bugs who come to their clan. However, be wary of crossing a Dragonfly, for they never forget. \column ### Dragonfly Clans There are seven different Dragonfly clans. Each clan has its own culture, attuned to a single element. These clans mainly live in remote places that are in tune with their element. However, there are clans that do not mind living with or near others. #### Acid Clans Dragonflies from this clan usually make their homes of raised areas of earth in swamplands. Acid Clans usually make their homes out of clay, but also use stone. These sturdier homes are necessary for housing their experiments. Inventing and experimenting with small projectiles which are the clans weapons of choice. These Dragonflies are scientists and inventors who use logic to solve their problems. However, this has caused tensions with other clans in the past. \page #### Earth Clans Dragonflies from this clan are one with the earth, making their homes in caves, mountains or badlands. They are stubborn bugs skilled in agriculture and masonry, using their ties to the earth to grow crystals for tools and weapons: their specialties being hammers or axes. These clans are one of the few that try to keep peaceful relationships with outside towns or cities. These Dragonflies know that the earth cares for everyone, no matter who or what you are. #### Fire Clans Dragonflies from this clan usually make their homes near volcanoes or areas with rich sources of precious metals. Similar to their element, fire Dragonflies are quick to anger, but can make powerful allies. Fire clans are masters of the forge, with knowledge passed down many generations. These Dragonflies are also very prideful, they proclaim to make most powerful elemental weapons with swords being their specialty. #### Lightning Clans Dragonflies from this clan usually make their homes in tropical areas. They have the fiercest and bravest warriors among the clans, training in combat from a young age and enhancing their abilities through what they call “Storm Training”. They are the most skilled at creating and using spears and staffs. They are the most hostile of the clans and rarely let outside bugs in their territory. Even bugs on trade routes must take caution not to go too far off the path when in or near Lightning Clan territory. #### Poison Clans Dragonflies from this clan can be found almost anywhere, though they prefer secluded locations. Poison Dragonflies are reclusive bugs who only associate with outsiders when absolutely necessary. These Dragonflies usually use stealth and traps to take down their enemies rather then fighting them head on. This pairs well with the unique poisons they make to infuse or coat their weapons. They are also known for forging unique traps and daggers to pair with their unconventional fighting style. #### Water Clans Dragonflies from this clan usually make their homes in lakes, but any sources of fresh water will do. They are the most peaceful and adaptable of all the clans. This is a clan of mainly priests and priestesses. These Dragonflies like finding peaceful solutions to problems, but they know how to defend themselves when necessary with them being most skilled at using (and forging) tridents and nets. \column Every dragonfly clan has at least one Water Dragonfly living with them, but larger clans are known to have multiple. Their main responsibility is to take care of the eggs and nymphs of the clan while they grow in the Pool of Life, a bug-made pool of water where their young can develop. After initial training in a Water Clan, young, fully trained priests and priestesses are usually sent to join new clans, or to clans where their priests are becoming elderly. #### Wind Clans Dragonflies from this clan usually make their homes on hills, cliff sides, or in plains. These clans are known to be smaller, but unlike other clans, they do not mind sharing territories with each other. They are the most skilled at crafting and using bows. Though some Wind Clans choose to be fully nomadic, moving from location to location depending on the season. Similar to their element, Wind Dragonflies love to explore, and collect small trinkets or trophies from their adventures. The rarer the item, the more respect they earn from their clan.

\page ### Religious in Nature Dragonflies believe in a pantheon of elemental gods, though depending on the element of the clan, they worship that particular god: - Gaia, the Goddess of Earth - Vita, the Goddess of Water - Flamma, the Goddess of Fire - Zephra, the Goddess of Wind - Fulgra, the Goddess of Lightning - Venna, the Goddess of Poison - Acida, the Goddess of Acid. Dragonflies are very devout in worship to their gods, since they believe it was them who gave them their elemental powers. They build large shrines to worship in and give offerings. These shrines are also where the water clan priests or priestesses live, along with the Pool of Life, where dragonfly eggs are placed, hatched and raised. ### Elemental Smiths Dragonflies are legendary for making the best elemental weapons. Each clan specializes in the element they embody. Though the clans are skilled enough to make any weapon, some clans can make certain weapons better than others. However, there is a unsaid rule to never show these forging techniques to any outsiders. Any dragonfly who is caught teaching these secret elemental infusing techniques to outsiders is severely punished. ### Prideful Beings Dragonflies consider themselves higher than other bugs, no matter their status. If a clan has to ask for help, they would rather go to the other clans, leaving other bugs as a last resort. However, even though they consider other clans family, clans are very territorial. The only exception to this is the Water Clan, whose special role in their society has taught them humility. They also have two sets of arms that can move independently from each other. Though they have no mask some Dragonflies can have horns. However, the element of their birth clan defines them, and a Dragonfly’s shell is a certain color as a result. ##### Dragonfly Appearance | Element | Shell Color | |:-----------|:-----------:| | Acid | Green | | Earth | Brown | | Fire | Red | | Lightning | Yellow | | Poison | Purple | | Water | Blue | | Wind | White | :: ### Dragonfly Traits Though Dragonflies have some common traits, you are defined by your element and have special innate traits that tie you with your brethren.
**Ability Score Increase.** Your Charisma score increases by 2, and your Dexterity score increases by 1. **Alignment.** Dragonflies can be any alignment **Size.** Dragonflies vary between 5ft to 6ft. Your size is Medium. **Speed.** Your base walking speed is 30 feet, and you have a swimming speed of 30 feet. **Flight.** At level 1, you have a flying speed of 30 feet, but fall to the ground at the end of your turn: You do not take fall damage for the first 30ft. When reaching level 5, your flight speed equals your walking speed and you do not fall to the ground at the end of your turn. To use this speed, you can’t be wearing medium or heavy armor. **Languages.** You can speak, read and write Common, Dragon Buzz and one other language of your choice. #### Dragonfly Element Each dragonfly is infused with a element and gains certain additional abilities from it. Choose one element from the list bellow: \page ##### Acid **Acidic Mote.** You can create a create and hurl a mote of bubbling acid. Make a ranged attack against a creature within 30 feet. This attack deals 2d6 acid damage on a hit. Additionally, each creature within 5 feet takes half damage the initial creature took. The damage increases to 3d6 at 6th level, 4d6 at 11th level, and 5d6 at 16th level. After you use Acidic Mote, you can’t use it again until you complete a short or Long Rest. **Damage Resistance.** You have resistance to acid damage. **Caustic Collection.** Your acidic residue is incredibly corrosive, and a valuable resource while adventuring. Whenever you complete a short or long rest, you can create a vial of acid. You must have an empty container of glass or other resilient material with which to store it. This Acid, in addition to its standard uses, can be used to corrode simple, non-magical items, such as iron or wooden objects. The objects must be in the small size category or smaller. This acid lasts for 48 hours, at which point it dissolves harmlessly. ##### Earth **Heavy Build.** Instead of increasing your DEX by 1, you increase your CON by 1 in its place. You gain Proficiency in Athletics and 1 Martial Melee Weapon of your choice. **Darkvision.** You are capable of seeing in the dark and are able to see in total darkness as if it were bright light up to 60 feet and dim light for another 60 feet. You cannot discern color with this trait and instead see everything in shades of gray. **Powerful Wingbeat.** You can use your flying speed with Medium Armor. Additionally, whenever you take the Dash action, you can move an additional 10ft. **Quake.** You slam down into the earth, allowing shockwaves to ripple forth. Every creature within 10 ft of you must make a STR saving throw. The DC for this saving throw equals 8 + your Charisma modifier + your PB. On a failure, the creatures fall prone. Huge or larger creatures, or any creature with a Flying speed, automatically pass. The area targeted by this effect is treated as difficult terrain until the end of your next turn. Once you use this ability, you cannot do so again until you complete a Long rest. \column ##### Fire **Damage Resistance.** You have resistance to fire damage. **Fire Breath.** You can use your bonus action to exhale flames. When you do so, each creature in a 15-foot cone must make a Dexterity saving throw. The DC for this saving throw equals 8 + your Charisma modifier + your proficiency bonus. A creature takes 3d6 fire damage on a failed save, and half as much damage on a successful one. The damage increases to 4d6 at 6th level, 5d6 at 11th level, and 6d6 at 16th level. After you use your fire breath, you can’t use it again until you complete a short or long rest. **Flame.** You know the *produce flame* cantrip. This does not count against your number of Cantrips known. Charisma is your spellcasting modifier for this spell ##### Lightning **Damage Resistance.** You have resistance to lightning damage. **Voltic Surge.** You can use your bonus action to exhale a bolt of lightning. When you do so, each creature in a 5 by 30-foot line must make a Dexterity saving throw. The DC for this saving throw equals 8 + your Charisma modifier + your PB. On a failed save, the creature takes 2 D6 Lightning damage and can only take either an action or bonus action next turn (not both). On a successful saving throw, it takes half as much damage and retains all of its actions. The damage increases to 3d6 at 6th level, 4d6 at 11th level, and 5d6 at 16th level. After you use your Voltic Surge ability, you can’t use it again until you complete a short or long rest. **Galvanized.** Your chitin has traces of iron, which makes it magnetic once electricity flows through it. You can use it to stick to metal walls and ceilings, gaining a climbing speed equal to half your walking speed when on metal surfaces. Additionally, you can pull a small sized object or smaller that is both made of metal and not held or carried by another creature to you. The object must be within 15ft of you to use this ability. \page ##### Poison **Hidden Hunter.** You gain proficiency in Stealth. Whenever you make a Dex (Stealth) check against a neutral or hostile creature that is not actively searching for you, you can add a D4 to the roll. **Darkvision.** You are capable of seeing in the dark and are able to see in total darkness as if it were bright light up to 60 feet and dim light for another 60 feet. You cannot discern color with this trait and instead see everything in shades of gray. **Innate Resilience.** You resist poison damage and have advantage on saving throws made against being poisoned **Toxic.** You have the innate ability to suffocate your enemies with a toxic miasma. You learn the *Poison Burst* spell (this is not counted against the number of spells you know). You can cast this spell once per short or long rest without consuming a spell slot. CHA is your spellcasting modifier when you cast this spell in this way. After 11th level, you cast this spell for free at 2nd level instead of 1st. ##### Water **Damage Resistance.** You have resistance to cold damage **Darkvision.** You are capable of seeing in the dark and are able to see in total darkness as if it were bright light up to 60 feet and dim light for another 60 feet. You cannot discern color with this trait and instead see everything in shades of gray. **Riptide.** You can use your bonus action to stop your foes in their tracks. When you do so, each creature in a 15-foot cone must make a Dexterity saving throw. The DC for this saving throw equals 8 + your Charisma modifier + your proficiency bonus. On a failed save, a creature takes 2d6 cold damage and its speed is halved when it starts its turn in this area within the next minute. On a successful save, a creature takes half as much damage and its speed is not reduced. The damage increases to 3d6 at 6th level, 4d6 at 11th level, and 5d6 at 16th level. After you use your freezing cone, you can’t use it again until you complete a short or long rest. **Amphibious.** You can breathe air and water. \column ##### Wind **Improved Flight.** You do not fall to the ground at the end of your turn while using your fly speed. In addition, when you reach level 5, you gain the ability to Hover in place of your walking speed. The armor restrictions still apply. **Tempest Blast.** You release a blast of of gale force winds into your enemies. Each creature within a 30ft line must make a DEX saving throw. The DC for this saving throw equals 8 + your Charisma modifier + your PB. A creature who fails takes 2d6 Magical Slashing damage and is pushed back 10ft or into another creature or object, whichever is reached first. On a success, they take half as much damage and are not pushed back. The damage increases to 3d6 at 6th level, 4d6 at 11th level, and 5d6 at 16th level. After you use this ability, you can’t use it again until you complete a short or long rest.
