# Ladybug

Whether in a large city or on the road, Ladybugs are always a good sight to see. Whether they be a bard or a merchant, Ladybugs seem to have the uncanny ability to be able to lighten the mood. Of course, it does help when it seems they bring good luck wherever they go.
### Social Bugs Ladybugs have a natural charm, making them approachable and trustworthy. Paired with being great conversationalists and very social, these bugs love making friends with other races. This tendency has most Ladybugs making their homes in cities. Though these bugs can be found anywhere and everywhere, as long as there is another bug around, then Ladybugs are happy. They also generally stay away from violence and try to find a more peaceful solution to a problem. \column ### Brains instead of Brawns Though their small stature puts them at a disadvantage physically, Ladybugs are known to be cunning bugs, making their size an advantage to get out of situations or using the knowledge of the environment around them against their enemies. Their charismatic personality also comes into play, as they are also known to be very persuasive and able to use their natural charm to convince other bugs to do what they want. Ladybugs can also recognize a potential bad situation and try to avoid it. However, Ladybugs when not in any danger like to become more knowledgeable, whether it be from reading classic literature to discussing politics. ### Family Bonds Ladybugs value family above all else. They absolutely hate discourse between family members and have been known to drop everything they are doing to fix the problem. If a Ladybug were to purposely perpetuate discourse, they would be shunned, or in the worst scenario kicked out of the family, which would be the highest dishonor. \page Ladybugs are also known to adopt orphaned bugs who do not have a family of their own, wanting them to feel safe and happy as they would with their own kind. Ladybug relatives live close to another if they can. If they can’t, they write letters to keep their family updated on their life. #### Family Businesses Their close bonds with their families often lead them to owning family businesses, with their natural charisma and smarts they make great merchants and inns keepers. Passing down the family shop from generation to generation, though, they also make great politicians, lawyers, scholars, and teachers. These intellectual types of Ladybug families pass down their knowledge to their children, teaching them practical knowledge of their field so they do not make common mistakes when they go into the field. Other families choose to live as performers and bards, teaching their children the arts and helping them find places to perform. Whatever their children choose to do with their lives, Ladybug parents are very supportive with their children's pursuits and do their best to help them reach their goals. ### Opportunistic Though Ladybugs value familiar bonds, and tend to not like violence they are also opportunistic by nature. If there is a chance of making their goal a reality, Ladybugs seize any chance they get. Young Ladybugs are most known to go off from their family to pursue their passion. Sometimes it even lands them into adventuring parties, to either further their goals or to protect their families. ### Spotty Appearance Ladybugs are short in stature, standing around 3ft tall. Though they vary between having white masks and not, their defining feature is their elytra. Ladybugs elytra have always have black spots with each ladybug having their own unique pattern of spots. Though the coloration can range from the traditional red to a redish orange, or yellow. Though there are some lady bugs that have inverse of these colorations (black elytra with colored spots). \column ### Ladybug Traits **Ability Score Increase.** Your Charisma score increases by 2, and your choice of Intelligence or Wisdom increases by 1. **Alignment.** Ladybugs tend to lean toward Good alignments. They are rarely evil. **Size.** Ladybugs average about 3 feet tall. Your size is Small. **Speed.** Your base walking speed is 25 feet. **Flight.** At level 1 you have a flight speed that is equal to half of your walking speed (rounded down). When you reach level 5, your flight speed increases to equal your walking speed. To use this speed, you can’t be wearing medium or heavy armor. **Languages.** You can speak, read and write Common, Fly and Lei'Dei. **Lucky Bug.** When you roll a 1 on the d20 for an attack roll, ability check, or saving throw, you can reroll the die and must use the new roll. **Level Headed.** As a Ladybug, you are able to maintain your composure in most situations. You have advantage on all saving throws against being Frightened. **Small of Stature.** You can attempt to hide even when you are obscured only by a creature that is at least one size larger than you.
