# D U N K M A S T E R *** *** ##### Long ago, across the different realms, tales were told of an ancient athletic contest where participants battled for the grasp of a flaming sphere, bouncing it on the earth continuously until they could attain victory by sending it through an elevated ring. You have been blessed by the gods of this forgotten sport, granting your body swifter reflexes, bringing your mind a new level of focus, and unlocking your soul to the otherworldly power… of ***DUNKING.*** *Move aside, benchwarmers. **This is YOUR court now.***

### Welcome to the Jam When you take this path at 3rd level, every battlefield becomes your court. Whenever you enter a rage, you can mark a hostile creature (CR 1/8 or higher) within 60 feet of you, causing a spectral **Hoop Pole** to hover above them. Once the hoop has appeared, you summon a **Bounce Orb** on your empty hand, continuously bouncing it on the ground with one hand at a time. While you remain dribbling the orb, you gain the following benefits: - Enemies have disadvantage on opportunity attacks against you. - If you end your turn within 5 feet of a Large or smaller enemy, they have disadvantage on the next attack roll they make until the end of their next turn. - If both of your hands are free, you can treat the orb as a special type of thrown weapon. It has a range of 30/90
and the Finesse property, but can only be used to target the creature marked as the Hoop. On a hit, it deals 1d10 bludgeoning damage. ```

Whenever you make a ranged attack with the orb, regardless if you hit or miss, it falls to the ground up to 15 feet away from the Hoop Pole in a direction of the DM’s choosing. Any friendly creature (including yourself) that moves within 5 feet of the orb can pick it up as an object interaction, being able to pass it over to another ally within 30 feet of them as a bonus action. Once the orb is returned to your hands, you start dribbling it once more. If the creature marked as the Hoop drops to 0 hit points before your rage ends, you can use a bonus action on a subsequent turn of yours to mark a new creature. Once your rage ends, both the Hoop Pole and Bounce Orb vanish in a burst of sparks.

### Keepin’ Score At 3rd level, you don’t need a buzzer to tell you when to start dominating. Whenever you hit the Hoop Pole with a ranged attack using the Bounce Orb, you gain a number of **Score Points** dependent on the distance it traveled: | Shot Distance | Points Gained | |:----:|:-------------| | 5 feet or more | 1 point| | 15 feet or more | 2 points | | 25 feet or more | 3 points | ***

Whenever you reach a total of 10 or more Score Points,
you gain a +1 bonus to your AC against any attacks made
by the creature currently marked as the Hoop. The bonus increases to +2 with a total score of 20 or more, +3 with a total of 30 or more, +4 with 40 or more; and so forth. At the end of your rage, your total amount of Score Points is reset to 0.

On a critical hit with the Bounce Orb, the number of points gained is doubled.

### Slam Dunk Also at 3rd level, your stomping of the competition becomes fully literal. You have a bonus of 10 feet to your High Jump and Long Jump distances. While you are raging, whenever your total amount of Score Points reaches a threshold (10, 20, 30, etc), the Bounce Orb is charged with an extra potent **Dunk Shot.** The next time you use the orb to target the Hoop Pole while it is within 30 feet of you, you leap up to 20 feet high in the air towards the targeted creature, making a melee attack against them instead. This leap doesn’t count towards your movement in that turn, covers the full distance between you and the target, and grants you a +2 bonus to the attack roll. On a hit, the target and all creatures within 5 feet of
them must make a Charisma saving throw (DC 8 + your Constitution modifier + your proficiency bonus), taking 2d8 fire damage and falling prone on a failed save, or half as much damage and not falling prone on a successful one.

Hitting a Dunk Shot grants you a total of 2 Score Points.

### Dribble Beast When the ball is in your hold, those around you move in
slow motion. At 6th level, if both of your hands are free
while dribbling the Bounce Orb, you are granted the following benefits: - Your movement doesn’t provoke opportunity attacks. - You gain a bonus of 5 feet to your walking speed. This increases to 10 feet when you reach 10th level. - After throwing it, the orb can be passed to you from allies within 40 feet of you. - When using the orb as a weapon, it deals an additional 1d10 psychic damage on a hit. This increases to 2d10 when you reach 12th level.

\page ### Tear Up the Court At 10th level, any game you play is a home game. You gain
the following benefits while raging: - The orb can now be passed to you from allies within 50 feet of you. - If you end your turn within 5 feet of an enemy, you gain the benefits of the Dodge action against them until the end of their next turn. - Whenever your total amount of Score Points reaches a threshold, the lowest number you must roll on the d20 to score a critical hit against the Hoop Pole decreases by 1; up to a minimum threshold of 17. This counter is reset when your rage ends.

### Ballin’ Zone You don’t give 100%. **You take it.** At 14th level, your rage can last indefinitely, so long as you are able to maintain it. Additionally, you gain the following benefits while raging: - The orb can now be passed to you from allies within 60 feet of you (no action required by them). - The fire damage dice of your Dunk Shot increase to 3d8, and are also doubled if you score a critical hit. - You can now have up to three creatures marked as Hoop Poles at the same time, being able to add or replace a mark as a bonus action.

##### Take it into Overtime

By 15th level, barbarians unlock the *Persistent Rage* feature. This allows your rage to last for the full 1 minute standard duration without needing to be maintained, so long as you aren’t knocked unconscious. However, in order for your rage to stay active beyond that duration as per the *Ballin’ Zone* feature, you must follow the standard rules for maintaining it detailed in the *Rage* feature.
