\page ### Origins Some sorcerer are born through magical bloodlines and some bestowed power by supernatural forces. Some feel blessed, some feel cursed. Whether they are the child of a dragon or the unfortunate sailor struck by the lightning of a powerful air elemental, the deciding factor is an abundance of magic. For the Arcane Champion, their combative talent can influence the manifestation of their nascent sorcery during childhood development, or perhaps there is a mundane person who happens to become exposed to a powerful and volatile magical weapon, where the magic is absorbed and grants them magical talent... provided they don't die from shock. Whatever the case, the Arcane Champion is a manefestation of magic which sets itself apart from other origins in toughness and martial or magical combat prowess. The path of sorcerery this origin takes focuses more on the blending of sword and sorcerery, leaning more towards what is less powerful and inexhaustable as opposed to the more powerful, but more exhaustable. ### Champion Magic *1st-level Arcane Champion feature* You learn additional spells when you reach certain levels in this class, as shown on the Champion Spells table. Each of these spells counts as a Sorcerer spell for you, but doesn't count against the number of spells you know. | Sorcerer Level | Spell | |:----:|:-------------| | 1st | Booming Blade, False Life | | 3rd | Blur | | 5th | Elemental Weapon | | 7th | Freedom of Movement | | 9th | Steel Wind Strike | ### Martial Talent *1st-level Arcane Champion feature* The Arcane Champion has a specific mark of sorcerery that is manifested not as only a physical characteristic, but also the ability to understand and apply the art of weapon combat. Like Bard are able to seemingly play their intruments as if it were apart of their body, so too does this innate talent allow the Arcane Champion to use a weapon as if it were apart of their body. * **Martial Weapon Proficiency**, you become proficient with one martial weapon of your choice. * **Unarmored Defense**, when you are not wearing any armor or using a shield, your Armor Class equals 10 + your Strength OR Dexterity modifier + your Charisma modifier. ### Extra Attack (2) Beginning at 6th level, you can attack twice, instead of once, whenever you take the Attack action on your turn. Furthermore, you may replace one of these attacks with a cantrip.

### Sorcerer's imbuement *6th-level Arcane Champion feature* Starting at 6th level, your magic flows into your weapons. You weapon attacks count as magical for the purposed of overcoming resistance and immunity to nonmagical attacks and damage. Additionally, you may spend 1 sorcery point to make one weapon attack once per turn. ### Focus and Flight *14th-level Arcane Champion feature* Beginning at 14th level, you are able to use magic to aid in your movement and you become unshakeable while using self centered spells. You gain a fly speed equal to your grounded speed, the vertical limit of this speed is 10. Additionally, when concentrating on spells that have a range of "Self," or target only you, you no longer have to make concentration checks to maintain the spell. *Your concentration can still be broken by all means other than by taking damage. e.g incapacitated, dying, casting another concentration spell.* ### Avatar of the Arcane Champion *18th-level Arcane Champion feature* At 18th level, you reach the pinnacle of your talent. Truly, you could be called a Champion of Arcane fighting, and those who face you on the battlefield would be able to tell at a glance you are a force to be reckoned with. You can expend 6 sorcery points as a bonus action to assume a magically enhanced state, your inner magic seeping out and cloaking you in a heavy magical pressure. **While in this state, you lose the ability to cast spells other than cantrips**, but in return you gain the following benefits: * Your attacks are empowered by your magic. Your weapon attacks deal extra force damage equal to your charisma modifier. * Your dense magical aura mitigates the damage of physical threats. You gain resistance to bludgeoning, slashing, and piercing damage. * This magically enhanced state grants you temporary vitality. You gain temporary hitpoints equal to your Sorcerer level. You can stay in this form for 1 minute. It ends early if you are frightened, incapacitated, if you die, or if you release the form as a bonus action. \page # Base Sorcerer Considerations The Sorcerer class has two things that many people can agree can be quite limiting. Consider these three optional rules to help address these two problems; Spell Known limit and the Capstone ability (Sorcerous Restoration). Ultimately, the choice is up to your DM. ### Spell Capacitance *7th-level Sorcerer feature* The Sorcerer knows many spells, the especially talented know several more. The Sorcerer gains an additional number of Spells Known equal to their Charisma modifier. ### Sorcerous Regeneration *20th-level Sorcerer feature* The Sorcerer's magical resevoir is now deep enough to tap into the wellspring of the weave. As an action, the Sorcerer can access that wellspring and regain a number of sorcery points equal to 1d4+1. This ability can be used a number of times equal to the Sorcerer's Charisma modifier. All expended uses are regained upon the completion of a long rest. *This ability cannot be influenced by spells or abilities.* ### Soul Expansion *20th-level Sorcerer feature* You have reached the height of Sorcery, a legend among Sorcerers. Your soul is equally legendary, increasing in power. Your Charisma score and Sorcery Points increase by 4 up to a maximum of 24.

### Play Test Ability; Signature Metamagic *17th-level Sorcerer Ability* You have become especially familiar with metamagic. Choose one of the metamagic options you know that expends up to 2 Sorcery Points. You lose that amount of Sorcery Points, but in return you can use that metamagic option at no Sorcery Point cost a number of times equal to your Charisma modifier. All expended uses of this ability are regained upon the completion of a long rest. \page ## New Cantrips

#### Arcane Strike *Evocation cantrip* ___ - **Casting Time:** 1 action - **Range:** Self (5-foot radius) - **Components:** V, S - **Duration:** Instantaneous You coat your arms and legs in magical energy and strike a target exactly like you would engaging in unarmed combat. However, the force of the strike lies in the disharge of magic upon impact. Make a melee spell attack against one creature within 5 feet of you. On a hit, the creature takes 1d6 + your spell casting modifier in force damage. This spell's damage increases by 1d6 when you reach 5th level (2d6), 11th level (3d6), and 17th level (4d6). #### Ice Hammer *Evocation cantrip* ___ - **Casting Time:** 1 action - **Range:** Self (5-foot radius) - **Components:** S, M (a melee weapon worth at least 1 sp) - **Duration:** Instantaneous You brandish the weapon used in the spell's casting and make a melee attack with it against one creature within 5 feet of you. On a hit, the target suffers the weapon attack's normal effects and then becomes slammed with icy energy. The target takes 1d8 cold damage and the target must make a strength saving throw against your Spell Save DC or be knocked prone (if large or smaller). This spell's damage increases by 1d8 when you reach 5th level (2d8), 11th level (3d8), and 17th level (4d8). #### Thundering Throw *Evocation cantrip* ___ - **Casting Time:** 1 action - **Range:** Self (30-foot radius) - **Components:** S, M (a thrown weapon worth at least 1 sp) - **Duration:** Instantaneous You brandish the weapon used in the spell's casting and make a ranged attack with it against one creature within 30 feet of you. Upon a hit, the target suffers the weapon attack's normal effects and then takes 1d8 thunder damage as a bolt of thunderous energy explodes upon impact. This explosion can be heard up to 100 feet away. If the damage roll for this spell contains at least one instance of the highest number possible (8), the target must make a Constitution saving throw against your Spell Save DC or be stunned until the end of their next turn. This spell's damage increase by 1d8 when you reach 5th level (2d8), 11th level (3d8), and 17th level (4d8). ``` ``` ## New Spell(s)

#### Shield of Retribution *2nd level Abjuration* ___ - **Casting Time:** 1 action - **Range:** Self - **Components:** V, S - **Duration:** Concentration, up to 1 minute. An invisible barrier of volatile magical force appears and protects you. Until this spell ends, you have a +2 bonus to AC. Upon taking damage, you can use your reaction to shatter the shield and any creature you designate within 5 feet of you must make a Dexterity saving throw against your Spell Save DC. A creature takes 3d6 force damage upon a failed save, or half as much upon a success. **At Higher Levels.** When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 3rd level or higher, the damage increases by 1d6 for each slot level above 2nd. \page ## Feats to Consider

### Casting Styles *Prerequisite: Ability to cast spells*

#### **Brutal Spell** Your spells manifest with an oppressive and brutal pressure. You gain a +1 to your spell save DC. #### **Defensive Caster** You are adept at defensive stances and are not easily shaken while casting. You gain a +2 defensive bonus to concentration checks made to maintaining concentration on your spells. #### **Potent Spell** The damage of other caster's spells pales in comparison to yours. When you roll a 1 or 2 on the damage die for a spell you cast, you can reroll the die and must use the new roll, even if the roll is a 1 or a 2. #### **Precise Spell** Your spells are as accurate as the arrow of a bowfighter. You gain a +2 to spell attack rolls.

### Weapon Focus *Prerequisite: Proficiency in selected weapon* You feel best when wielding this weapon. Coincidentally, you perform your best when wielding this weapon. When attacking with this weapon, you gain a +2 weapon focus bonus on attack rolls.

### Weapon Specialization *Prerequisite: Weapon Focus (Weapon for this feat), 3rd level* You have become quite adept at wielding your weapon of choice. You gain a +2 weapon specialization bonus to the damage rolls with your specialized weapon. ### Arcane Armor *Prerequisite: Must have the spellcasting feature* You have learned to manifest your magic as armor, greatly favoring what is innate within you than what must be bought and maintained.
