Over time, their kind learned to sustain themselves to walk, laugh, and love like those they once watched over. Their inner flame burns brightest when they feel joy, courage, or compassion. A Jack o’ Kin’s light dims with sorrow or fear, and some say you can tell their mood by the glow from their carved eyes and mouth. ### Ability Score Increase Your Charisma score increases by 2, and your Wisdom or Constitution score increases by 1. ### Age The magic that kindles the Jack o’ Kin’s life is slow to fade. They reach maturity within a year of awakening and can live up to 120 years before their flame gutters out. ### Size Jack o’ Kin range from 4 to 6 feet tall, with bodies of dense gourd-flesh and sturdy vine limbs. Old scarecrows; stuffed with straw, patched with burlap, and left to stand sentinel for eternal. Have been known to rise under strange omens. Their spirits are gentle yet protective, guardians of quiet farmlands and forgotten corners of the world. ### Ability Score Increase Your Constitution increases by 2, and your Wisdom increases by 1. ### Age Strawfolk don’t age in the traditional sense, their straw bodies don’t wrinkle or grow frail with time. Instead, their lifespans depend on how well they care for themselves and how long their inner spark endures. # The Lanternwright - Artificer

## Lanternwright Lanternwrights are artisans who weave soul and flame into creation. They specialize in crafting lanterns, charms, and constructs of guiding light, merging artifice and spiritcraft to shape emotion into tangible radiance. Where others see fire as an end, Lanternwrights see it as remembrance each spark a whisper of a life that once was or could be. They are often found tending to graveyards, crossroads, or quiet workshops, keeping watch over both the living and the departed. #### Tool Proficiency When you adopt this specialization at 3rd level, you gain proficiency with glassblower’s tools. You’ve learned to infuse a lantern or crafted vessel with your artificer magic, giving it life and purpose. As an action, you can create a magical lantern that shines a soft, steady light in a 20-foot radius and dim light for an additional 20 feet. You can choose the color and quality of the light (warm, cold, flickering, etc.). Your lantern gains one of the following effects (chosen each time you create it): - **Lantern of Guidance** Allies within the bright light of your lantern have advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks. - **Lantern of Comfort** You and allies within the bright light gain temporary hit points equal to your Intelligence modifier at the start of your turn. - **Lantern of Saving** When a creature within the light rolls a death saving throw, they may add 1d4 to the total. The lantern lasts until you create another, or until you die. you may use a bonus action to change the effect of your lantern. ### Soulglass Artistry Your craftsmanship captures not only light, but fragments of soul and intent. Whenever you finish a long rest, you can imbue a crystal, bottle, or gem with a Soulglass Charge. When a creature within 30 feet of you takes damage, you can use your reaction to shatter the charge, releasing restorative energy. The creature regains hit points equal to 2d8 + your Intelligence modifier. A beacon that defies darkness and death alike. You are immune to the blinded condition and cannot have any light you make extinguished by magical or nonmagical means unless you allow it. When you are reduced to 0 hit points, your lantern flashes violently. You instead drop to 1 hit point and emit bright light in a 60-foot radius for 1 minute. During this time, all hostile creatures within the light have disadvantage on attack rolls against your allies.
