# Incantation Wizard
___
***Of all the aspects of spellcasting, incantations are perhaps the most well known. A spell is, traditionally a spoken incantation which creates an effect. Not alls spells utilize verbal components however, as materials and gestures are also quite important. But, most powerful spells do use verbal components. And while these are generally truncated forms of elaborate incantations brought down to their bare minimum for efficiency, the long forms of these spell incantations may still be viable. The study and use of long form incantation is considered a niche tradition in wizardry, but it can be quite useful.***

##### Incantation Wizard Abilities
| Level | Ability |
|:----:|:-------------:|
| 2nd | Incantation Savant, Linguistics Specialist |
| 6th | Arcane Linguistics |
| 10th | Mantra |
| 14th | Incantation Mastery |

## Incantation Savant
Beginning when you select this tradition at 2nd level, the gold and time you must spend to copy spells with verbal and either somantic or material components into your spellbook is halved. Spells which require all three component types do not benefit from this ability. Spells which have only verbal components do benefit from this ability.

## Linguistics Specialist
Also at 2nd level, when you select this tradtion, you may choose to cast spells with verbal components with casting time of 1 action or 1 bonus action in long form. Doing this requires the expenditure of both an action and bonus action. Spells cast with long form incantation are performed with expertise (double your proficiency bonus) in regards to both attack rolls and save DC required by them.

## Arcane Linguistics
Many languages are deeply tied to different arcane practices, to the extent that learnig such a language can provide insight into associated arcane practices.

Starting at 6th level, languages you know unlock various spell options from other spell lists. You learn two spells at 6th level from other spell lists, which become wizard spells for you, according to your known languages (shown in the table below); at 14th level you learn two more spells in this way; you learn one more spell at 20th level.

Spells that you learn must have verbal components.

##### Arcane Linguistics Correlations
| Language | Spell List |
|:----:|:-------------|
| Celestial | Cleric |
| Deep Speech | Warlock |
| Draconic | Sorceror |
| Halfling | Bard |
| Infernal | Warlock |
| Primordial | Druid |
| Sylvan | Ranger |

## Mantra
You have begun to use the incantation for a spell as a mantra for yourself. This mantra is something that has been emblazened in your mind and comes to you in moments of dispair.

When you reach 10th level, choose a spell with a verbal component that you can cast. This spell is your mantra spell. You may cast this spell without expending a spell slot or using any components other than verbal. Once you have cast your mantra spell, you cannot do so again until you complete a short or long rest.

## Incantation Mastery
When you reach 14th level, you gain the following benefits from your mastery of incantations:

* You learn the spell Tongues and can cast it as a ritual.
* When you cast spells that have a verbal component, you can ignore somatic component requirements and material component requirements that have a vlaue less than 1000gp.
* You can cast spells that have only verbal components without speaking the incantation, so long as you are conscious.
