# Clusterling Human Variant

A clusterling is similar to a human but they have the ability to bond with other humans that they choose. When they are bonded with another humanoid they can speak to them over great distances and share their knowledge, abilities, and skills.

### Clusterling Traits
Clusterlings have the same age, alignment, size, and speed as humans. When you create a human character, you may choose the clusterling as a variant. For your convenience, the traits of the human and the clusterling are combined here.

**Ability Score Increase**
Two different ability scores of your choice increase by 1.

**Age.** Humans reach adulthood in their late teens and live less than a century.

**Alignment.** Humans tend toward no particular alignment. The best and the worst are found among them.

**Size.** Humans vary widely in height and build, from barely 5 feet to well over 6 feet tall. Regardless of your position in that range, your size is Medium.

**Speed.** Your base walking speed is 30 feet.

**Bonding**
You can bond to other humanoids. As an action you touch a willing humanoid and become bonded to them. You can bond with up to 8 willing people, called a cluster, and can choose to unbond with one at any time.

If you touch an unwilling humanoid, they must succeed on a Charisma saving throw or be bonded. The DC for the saving throw is equal to 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Constitution modifier. This bonding only lasts for 1 hour. At 9th level the bonding lasts 8 hours, and lasts 24 hours at 13th level.

**Cluster Sharing**
You can link telepathically with a member of your cluster, but not someone you have bonded with unwillingly, to access their abilities, skills, and knowledge.

*Ability.* As a bonus action, you can choose one ability score that someone else in the bond possesses. Until the beginning of your next turn, you can act as if you have that ability score. Once you use this option, you can't use it again until you finish a short rest.

*Proficiency.* As an action, you can choose one skill, tool or language that another in the bond possess. For 10 minutes, you have proficiency with the chosen skill, tool, or language. Once you use this option, you can't use it again until you finish a long rest.

**Visiting.** As an action, you can create an illusory image of yourself within 10 feet of someone you have bonded with, that only they can see. The copy will appear as long as both of you are on the same plane of existence. Once created, the image lasts for as long as you maintain concentration, as if concentrating on a spell. Although the image is intangible, it looks, sounds, and can move like you. You can sense and speak from the image's position as if present at that position. If the image takes any damage, it disappears.

When visiting a member of your cluster, you gain proficiency with their language(s).

**Languages.** You can speak, read, and write Common and one extra language of your choice. Humans typically learn the languages of other peoples they deal with, including obscure dialects. They are fond of sprinkling their speech with words borrowed from other tongues: Orc curses, Elvish musical expressions, Dwarvish military phrases, and so on.

When visiting a member of your cluster, you gain proficiency with their language(s).<div class='pageNumber auto'></div>
