# The Bident 2.0
Often seen in mythology as the chosen weapon
of major underworld figures, the lesser known
and liked sibling of the Spear and Trident is
the Bident. With two prongs it is more likely
seen being used to shovel hay than in any
proper combat setting. However, a combat
ready Bident is a rather wicked and difficult
weapon to both face and master.

### Creation
A bident is similar to that of the trident, though it is designed
for more of a defensive combat than an offensive one. It is not
designed to be thrown, as it is oddly weighted, and is
generally made out of metal or a similar material. The two
prongs are sharpened in shaped into a U.
The tail end is strangely heavy, as it is designed to not only
balance the weight of a rather bulky head but also the
weapons that clash against it.

### Combat
The Bident has three main forms of use: Thrusting,
Sweeping, and Catching.

**Thrusting:** The weilder stabs at the target with the two
prongs, often dealing piercing damage.

**Catching:** The weilder can attempt to catch an enemy
attach between the prongs. This can lessen the blow, as well
as allow the weilder an attempt at disarming

### Stats
Bident (Special Weapon, Pole-arm, Two-Handed, Reach)

The Bident has two main forms of use: Thrusting, and Catching. For the purposes of any and all abilities/feats this weapon is considered a Pole-Arm.

## Catching
As a reaction, if an enemy attacks you with a melee weapon
you may attempt to block their attack and catch it between
the prongs of the bident. Roll a To Hit roll using your
Dexterity modifier against
your enemy's To Hit as the DC. On a success, the enemy
attack is caught and the weilder takes half damage. On a fail,
the attack goes through as normal.
If the enemy's weapon has been caught the weilder may
roll to disarm the enemy on the weilder's next turn. Roll a To
Hit roll using your Dexterity while the enemy rolls a Strength Saving Throw. On a
success the enemy is disarmed of their melee weapon and it
is thrown to the grown. On a fail the enemy retains their
weapon and it is no longer caught in the bident.

In the evnet that the enemy's weapon has been caught by the bident, but still has actions to use, the enemy may use one of their actions to attempt to break the grapple on their weapon. For this purpose the rolls are to be done as as standard breaking grapple check. On a success, the weapon is freed and the character may conduct whatever remains of their turn as normal. On a fail, the weapon is still held in place and may be disarmed as explained above.
