# Primal Path

### Path of the Bloodrager
Many barbarians are wary of magic, distrustful of it's use and very nature. However some barbarians choose not to to be wary of magic, but instead to grab magic by it's metephorical neck and force it to be useful for their own ends.

Such barbarians are able to access an inelligant and primal magic when they rage, forcing the weave into spells through sheer force of will. These magic wielding barbarians are a frightful sight on the battlefield able to cut down a foe with a great axe or knock them back with a magical thunderwave at a moments notice.

#### Spellcasting
Starting when you choose this path at 3rd level, you are able to utilise Bloodrager Spellcasting while raging. You may only cast and concentrate on spells gained from this feature while raging, and any active spells, or spells being concentrated on are dispelled when you stop raging. See chapter 10 of the Players Handbook for general rules of spellcasting.

**Spell Slots. ** The Bloodrager Spellcasting table shows how many spell slots you have to cast your spells of 1st level and higher. To cast one of these spells, you must expend a slot of the spell’s level or higher. You regain all expended spell slots when you finish a long rest.

Fore example if you know the 1st-level spell _Thunderwave_ and have a 1st-level and a 2nd-level slot available, you can cast _Thunderwave_ using either slot.

**Spells Known of 1st-Level and Higher. ** You know three 1st-level spells of your choice from the Bloodrager spell list. The Spells Known column of the Bloodrager Spellcasting table shows when you learn more wizard spells of 1st-level or higher.

Whenever you gain a level in this class, you can replace one of the Bloodrager spells you know with another spell of your choice from the Bloodrager spell list.

**Spellcasting Ability.** Wisdom is your spellcasting ability for your Bloodrager spells, since you draw your power from your connection to the primal forces of magic coursing through you. You use Wisdom whenever a spell refers to your spellcasting ability. In addition you use your Wisdome modifier when setting the saving throw DC for a Bloodrager spell you cast and when making an attack roll with one.

<div style="text-align:center">**Spell save DC** = 8 + your proficiency bonus +<br>your Wisdom modifier</div>

<div style="text-align:center">**Spell attack modifier** = your proficiency bonus +<br>your Wisdom modifier</div>

**Spellcasting Focus. ** You can use a druidic focus (found in chapter 5 of the Playeres Handbook) as a spellcasting focus for your Bloodrager spells.

#### Magical Residue
Begining at 6th level, the magic that fuels your spellcasting during your rages lingers for a time. If less than 1 hour has passed since you have stopped raging you may gather this residual magic to cast one bloodrager spell you know and have spell slots for that has a duration of 1 round or less.

#### Magical Burst
Begining at 10th level, you immediately harness your magical energies upon entering a rage. When entering a rage you may cast a single bloodrager spell that you know and have spell slots available for that targets only you.

Once you have used this feature, you can't use it again until you complete a short or long rest.

#### Magical Resistance
Begining at 14th level, your innate magical conection has gifted you with a resiliance to magical effects. While raging you have advantage on saving throws against any spell that targets only you (not in an area of effect).

In addition, once per long rest if you roll a 20 for the save and the spell is 6th level or lower, the spell has no effect on you and instead targets the caster, using the slot level, spell save DC, Attack bonus, and spellcasting ability of the caster.
