# Path of the Aura Veil

Some Barbarians use magical abilites in sometimes more, sometimes less controlled ways to alter themself, their sourroundings or summon unpredictable magical effects when entering a rage. Barbarians from the Path of the Aura Panzer learn to focus their magical abilites to enhance their unarmored defense whenever they rage by sheathing themself in a magical veil.

The veil itself aswell as its source of power can differ from Barbarian to Barbarian depending on their Background. Some of them might worship a northern deity and reiceive a veil that covers them with aspects of cold and frosts, others might count a Red Dragon or a Storm Giant as one of their ancestors and sheath themself in soaring flames or crackling energy.

### Aura Veil
When you select this path at lvl 3 you gain a magical veil that covers you while you rage. Whenever you enter a rage, you can choose the effect of one of the spells in the following list and apply it onto yourself for the duration of your rage. If the spell would usually require concentration, it won't require concentration for you. When you reach higher levels, you can choose other effects from the list according to the listed level but you can only choose one of the spells to benefit from while you rage. If the spells gain additional effects by casting them on higher levels, you can choose to upcast spells that you already know by one level whenever you reach a level that would unlock a new spell option for you as shown below.

<div style='column-count:1'>
| lvl | Rage Spell |
|:---:|:------------|
|  3rd  | Armor of Agathys        |
|  5th  | Blur        |
|  9th  | Protection from Energy        |
|  13th  | Fire Shield       |
| 17th | Investiture of Element

</div>

### Reflecting Veil
Also when you reach 3rd level, whenever a creature hits you with a melee attack within a range of 10 feet, that creature takes damage equal to your proficiency bonus as your magical veil erupts in the attackers direction. When you reach 10th level in this class, you can choose to reflect damage equal to the ability bonus of your enemys attack instead. The damage type is determined by the type of veil you choose for you barbarian (for example fire, lightning, cold, acid, force, thunder, force). Whenever you finish a long rest, you can change the type of your veil and its damage.

In addition to that, once per round when you are hit by a melee attack, you can choose to ad 1d6 to the reflected damage. The dice type scales to 1d8 at 10th lvl and 1d10 at 14 th level.

### Absorbing Veil
At 6th level you gain Resistance to the Damage type associated with your Veil. In Addition to that, whenever you take damage from the type resisted by this feature, you can absorb a portion of the energy and add 1d4 of it to your next weapon attack.

### Siphoning Veil
When you reach lvl 10 in this class, your veil becomes able to siphon energy form your enemys when they die to it's effects. Whenever a creature dies from the damage provided form you Reflecting Veil feature or as a result of taking damage from one of the spell effects that your rage is granting you (for example the damage from Armor of Agathys or Fire Shield), you can roll one dice equal to it's hit dice and gain the rolled number in temporary hit points as your veil empowers itself.

Also whenever you hit with an attack while also having temporary hp, you can choose to expend all your temporary hp to add it as bonus damage onto your weapon attack. The damage gained from this feature can't exceed 10 points of damage.

### Embracing Veil
When you reach lvl 14 in this class, your Veil extends to an aura with an radius of 10 feet around you. Whenever you gain temporary hitpoins from your siphoning veil feature, you can choose a number of creatures up to your constitution modifier within 10 feet of you, to also receive temporary hit points equal to the amount that you gain, as your Veil extends and briefly shields them from harm if they take damage.

Additionaly, you can use the reaction described from your Reflecting Veil feature when an ally within 10 features becomes the target of an attack as your veil reflects damage from their position. You can't do so more than one time per round.
