# The Wabbajack

The Wabbajack is is one of five Daedric artifacts made by the Daedric Prince of Madness, Sheogorath. Its rogue nature is a reflection upon Sheogorath's own chaos, choosing at random to either help or hinder those he encounters.

<div class='descriptive'>
"Or... you could use... The Wabbajack! Huh? Huh?? Didn't see that coming, did you?"

― Sheogorath
</div>

The Wabbajack is a Legendary magic staff that does not need attunement.

___
***Charges.*** This staff has 20 charges. While holding it, you can use an action to expend 1 or more of its charges to cast an effect. It can be targeted at a creature but doesn't have to be.

The staff regains 1d6 + 4 expended charges daily at dawn. If you expend the last charge, roll a d20. On a 1, roll on the **primary effect table** and the staff *becomes* the resolved effect (DM, be creative!).

*Optional:* If the staff becomes overcharged, it will expend 1 charge on its own, immediately.

___
***Spells.*** Every time a charge is expended, roll a ranged attack roll. Regardless of hit, roll the **Primary Effects Table** and follow the instructions to resolve.
___
***Unwieldy.*** While the Wabbajack has damage stats equivalent to a +2 quarter staff, whenever the weilder attempts a melee attack it *will* miss. Critical fumbles are especially bad.

The Wabbajack can, however, do melee damage by accident.

> This writeup intends to more or less accurately recreate the Wabbajack from TES: Skyrim, for D&D 5e.

> You could use it 'as is' within your campaign, but we suggest you reflavor it's backstory to match your setting, but please keep it suitably ridiculous.
