> ##### Variant Rule: Invocation drawbacks
> Back in the D&D Next Playtests, warlocks' Invocations used to carry with them a *teeny little* inconvenience, as if all the alien-ness of the bizarre outsider you get your magic from was starting to get to your head ─a small price to pay for your phenomenal power. Small things, more flavorful than crippling. Reddit user /u/the_singular_anyone [did an awesome work covering all the ones in the PHB](https://www.reddit.com/r/dndnext/comments/3d3igy/homebrew_warlock_invocation_drawbacks_play/), so here I go with mine:
>
> **Burning Blood:** You find the sight of your own blood fascinating. If nothing distracts you, you might spend a full minute watching a single drop trickle down your arm...
>
> **Deluge:** You often feel thirsty. You don't really *need* to drink more than normal, but water just feels *so* good...
>
> **Fingers of Hadar:** Sometimes you have the fleeting sensation that your fingers feel like they wren't really your own, as if they were something alien attached to your hands.
>
> **Greenflame Whip:** You're careful around fires, as if you were afraid that they might leap to you.
>
> **Mists of Hali:** The colour yellow tends to make you feel nervous. Iä, iä, Hastur...
>
> **One with the Beast:** You understand beasts better than people, and feel more comfortable hanging out with them.
>
> **Unnatural Fitness:** You're an antsy-pants and tend to grow restless if you stay still for too long.

By the way I found [a few cool invocations](http://harbinger-of-doom.blogspot.com.es/2015/04/d-5e-new-warlock-invocations.html) by Brandes Stoddard.
