## Warlock Feature Variant - Pact of the Blade (v2)
This is my second attempt at making Pact of the Blade stand out more as its own thing without requiring some specific build that spans multiple levels to even *start* working.

My previous attempt can be summed up with "converting Eldritch Blast into melee". While I succeeded (more or less), the way I did it only added more stuff to Eldritch Blast, which isn't the most exciting thing out there.

So here I keep the option to use EB in melee, but also attempt to redirect the focus towards other cantrips.

### Pact of the Blade

You can create a bond with one melee weapon by performing a special ritual while you hold it. You perform the ritual over the course of 1 hour, which can be done during a short rest.

Whenever you make a weapon attack with your pact weapon you can use your Charisma for the attack roll, but you do not add any ability modifier to the damage roll.

Additionally you can use your pact weapon as a spellcasting focus.

### Invocations
#### Improved Pact Weapon
*Prerequisite: Pact of the Blade feature*
___
You gain a +1 bonus to melee weapon attack and damage rolls while wielding your pact weapon and it is considered magic for the purposes of overcoming resistances and immunities. You do not gain this benefit if it is a magic weapon that already has a bonus to those rolls.

Also, if your pact weapon is a magic weapon that gives you a bonus to attack and damage rolls with it, you can apply that bonus to the melee spell attack rolls of all your warlock spells while you are wielding your pact weapon.

#### Eldritch Blade
*Prerequisite: Pact of the Blade feature*
___
Whenever you cast a warlock spell while wielding your pact weapon and that spell requires you to make a ranged spell attack, you can make a melee spell attack instead. The reach of the spell is the same as that of the weapon.

#### Lifedrinker
*Prerequisite: 5th level, Pact of the Blade feature*
___
Whenever you deal damage with a melee attack using your pact weapon you can gain temporary hit points equal to the damage dealt.

You can use this feature twice and regain all uses when you finish a long rest or if you use an action to expend a warlock spell slot to recharge this feature.

#### Eldritch Smite
*Prerequisite: 5th level, Pact of the Blade feature*
___
Once per turn when you hit a creature with a melee weapon attack using your pact weapon, you can deal extra damage equal to one damage roll of one of your warlock cantrips. If the cantrip has any effects other than dealing damage, they also apply.

#### Otherworldly Rush
*Prerequisite: 12th level, Pact of the Blade feature*
___
You can cast haste on yourself. You can’t do so again until you finish a long rest.
